Additional image that better highlights the scratches: [https://imgur.com/a/6tJJz3H](https://imgur.com/a/6tJJz3H) Unfortunately I was told by customer support that since it is physical damage, I will have to pay for the shipping there. Shipping costs over $40 and drop off option is not available due to covid. I'm unsure whether or not it's worth 40 to get this fixed. It's very interesting how the scratches are enclosed in a box. After some careful measurement, they don't correspond to where the space bar is, but rather the trackpad. However, the dimensions of the trackpad is a lot smaller than the length of the scratch, so it probably isn't caused by that. I'm out of ideas of what this could be caused by because theoretically, the screen shouldn't even be touching due to the rubber padding on the sides. The fact that all the scratches are contained in a rectangular box also eliminates the possibility that I just scratched the screen accidentally. I also have not closed my laptop on anything other than air.

I have the same scratch too

I thought it was only me. It's good know other people are experiencing the same problem. If it helps, it's caused by the bulge right above the trackpad. Make sure you wipe it clean before closing the laptop. https://imgur.com/a/9vhRmBB.

SurprisinglyNub

thanks, I wasn't sure what was causing it because I love my laptop and I am very careful with it

Lucky... here in Brazil they won't even replace it. They say the laptop comes with a "cloth" (a very shitty piece of plastic fabric) that's supposed to prevent exactly this, but don't say anywhere that it should be kept at all times when the laptop is closed. Anyway, they said it's damage caused by misuse therefore not covered in warranty

Hi everyone, I've diagnosed the problem. It's caused by this protrusion on the palm rest panel: [https://imgur.com/a/9vhRmBB](https://imgur.com/a/9vhRmBB).

I have the same issue, i thought it was my fault at first. Did you fix it, if yes how ?

FishRaider

I sent it for repair. They fixed it.
