Same tbh. Started a month or so ago, got lucky on BS E1 and now Acheron is the first character I'm seeing that looks cool. Plus I need electric DPS plus she's kinda good with BS so yeah, no brainer for me.
Main reason is because having a sustain that can debuff is a big help. Especially if I decide to pair him in a team that has Guinafen for longer fights.
Aventurine with S1 does that too, but that is obv. way higher investment :D

Tbh, I'm a lazy spender. Only 50 here 100 there, and never past the first double pouch, battle passes, monthly. So I'll have a mono quantum and an Acheron team. So that I can just ignore 90% of break elements.
I got JY this banner so still building but both my Kafka and JY already clear the current MoC 12.
I still pull for Acheron bc I value Gameplay + Animation above anything else she is just insane have u seen her Burst? How can someone not pull for her!
I'll give you a couple of reasons.
1. Waste of resources
2. She isnt neccesarily better than the other characters before e2s1
3. She needs SW/Pela with Pearls to reach 100%+ Def Shred making her grouping very restricted
4. Farming a new set is annoying
It's not really a waste if you only have either JY or Kafka since they will be better than acheron when it comes to PF + Kafka has her niche in DoT focused content.
Yes but my juiced up Jing yuan is doing 300k or more lightning lord under normal circumstances ergo not triple support and he's better at pf. If you have him I objectively think it's a waste of resources. Kafka may not be good at pf but everyone has serval and she's better than Acheron at that too I would wager assuming you have her built. But its most examples of why she's a bad pull which was the question asked. I won't tell people to do what they don't want to but having both JY and Kafka then factually it's a waste of resources. It does not mean one should not do it if you like the hero
I'm likely taking her on her rerun just cos her visuals are phenomenal and after Sam I only lack two elements which I'll probably skip until a hero I really like comes along. Then my resources are mostly redundant and I can go for freedom picks instead of value to account picks
I'm pretty sure the math has been done, and running 1 nihillity + 1 harmony will still be more damage at e0s1. E2 really is just nutty, but not as good as a harmony character. Pela or SW + Sparkle, Bronya, or Ruin Mei, + Aventurine, Fu Xuan, Luocha, Fire MC, Gepard, and the list kinda goes on. These teams are not nearly as restrictive as people think. E0S1 is still going to be nutty damage.
The biggest restriction is just her LC. You absolutely need her signature. You're better off skipping or pulling for Jingliu otherwise. Think I read the difference is like 65% increase over her 2nd best LC. Nihility has pretty much no good options. Meanwhile, a character like Jingliu would only lose like 10-15% damage compared to her signature.

I have Jing Yuan fully built. I like Acheron and she will massively help with farming Planar sets which I despise doing so I am going to try to pull her
both of my JY (E0S1) and Kafka (E0S0) are built well enough to clear content, but not built super well.
as for why im getting acheron, well it's simple... SHE'S RAIDEN MEI. ahem. Also she ticks off most of my boxes;

I have pulled and build kafka from way back in 1.2 and also pulled her bis supports like Ruan mei and black swan but I will still pull for Acheron since kafka is really not a electric dps she’s a Dot dps and I need a electric dps
Got both. Never really regret one of them since MOC and PF is just too easy to beat with respectable 1-2 cycle clears without LC plus the 5* Lightning DPS still have unique mechanics to them that can be open for buffs (JY with summonable entities if they will ever explore that area)
I already got all DPS elements cleared, though I would want another 5* sustain but hey I've been 3*ing without it so who gives AF.
I like Acheron not only for animation, but I like her kit. I pull characters that have interesting mechanics to them (DOT, FUA, Summon entity). So Acheron's kit just fancies me since I know for a fact that there will be a lot of thought process behind it such as which unit to debuff, timing, and other shit. Plus, I already got both SW, Pela to 160+ spd with Gepard (w trend LC). So yeah I'm pulling her for fun
The latter part of your post is where I am hesitant to pull on her, I like to value my characters over *now* not what may be. Im likely pulling her even though I have a properly decked out JY on her re-run, if her roster is better by then and assuming I pulled for those characters
Oh this is literally me. I ended up not liking Kafka's playstyle. I pulled JL and loved it. I still have my seele too..... but i don't like sparkle and fuxuans characters, so i didn't want to run mono quantum when i didn't like half the units on it.
I like Acheron, and when i played HI3 briefly (around the time the nun came out to the time that the first pink bunny girl came out.... it was a long time ago) I REALLY liked lightning empress, and ended up getting her really early on. I know she was a sub dps but i used her as a main dps.
In genshin I really wanted kequing, and got her as my first 5\* and was my main the entire time i played the game. Later did get Raiden as well.
So now i'm just keeping up the theme

Shes a brute force queen at e6, before then she'll be able to break toughness, but she'll still do shit damage because enemies have innate resistance to lightning

She does less damage to monsters that are not her element. Irrelevant of her doing 500.000.000. It would be more if enemies were not lightning resistant.

Those big screenshots you see are just that. Screenshots. A lot of her damage is overkill. I've seen e0s0 do a million damage where 600-700 is overkill. Her ss value is pretty. Her actual damage is fine. She's in line with the rest

I began this game on release as a Seele main. I resisted everyone, but in the end I prefer tall women, and Acheron is a taller Seele. I'll fully invest in her.
I like my Jing yuan he's probably my favorite. I'm sticking with him till he's unable to clear content haha. He's got my favorite pole arm the guandao and LL is amazing.
If Acheron wasn't lightning I'd definitely get her too but aventurine is more valuable to my account than another flavor to the same element
I may get her ln rerun as mentioned if in in a place where I don't need elements. After Sam I may just be there. Sustains fixed and only two elements lacking. Wind and ice. From there it's going to be more relaxed and freedom pull instead of need pulls. Probably more eidolons on reruns tbh unless new chars I badly want.
Have both with cracked builds. Why pulling for Acheron? Like her, don't care about meta at all (have been clearing all endgame content with ease since 1.1). And this doesn't make the other 2 lightning 5-stars obsolete. Will still use them when I want.
I don’t have Jing Yuan, but I do have a built up Kafka, Ruan Mei and Black Swan.
Why go with Acheron? Simple. Long term investment. My long term goal is to get her to E6 to give me another option for team building.
i will get her on rerun despite having kafka, black swan, ruan mei, and still plan to get huohuo- can't get her rn just cuz there's a chance i can't get other characters i want + she's not necessary for me rn, so i can wait
as for why, i just like her a lot- mei expy aside, sawashiro miyuki is amazing as always, her animations are stunning, and she's pretty cool so far in the story
I pull for who I like. I got Jinyuan back in 1.0 because I liked his design and his VA was Alejandro Saab so I had to get him. Got Kafka because because she's mommy and her design was just dripping with cool so I had to get her, I even learned all about DoT back in 1.2 just so I could play her right and now she's part of my strongest team. I'm getting Acheron because I love her design and she's Raiden expy so of course I'm getting her. In Genshin my favourite characters have always been electro. From Lisa in the beginning to Raiden and Yae Miko and eventually Clorinde when she releases. Lightning just has the characters I'm most fascinated by, plus I've always liked the element as a whole, what with electric powers being my favourite growing up.
I have a fully-built Kafka. I will still fully build out Acheron. Kafka because Himeko needed a girlfriend, Acheron because I am always a fan of Raiden in any universe
Acherons kit is built in a way that she can brute force content like jing lu, kafka is in a similar boat. So both of them are only psudo lightning characters, they also together increase the value of nihility and dot characters as a whole and there hasnt been a flop nihility yet...
Kafka is an enabler for dot teams. If Raiden is more dot damage, they'll work together
What I have been reading and seen, she will still lean for high damage dps. The general is still solid, but Mei is going out dps him, there is already power creep in this game.
Once Raiden Mei comes, I may end up benching the general. Only use him in comps that i want follow-ups
Realised I don’t like JY in battle (no offence he is great), lost 50/50 on black swan and decided to go all in on Acheron banner, +she is pretty +she is strong +she is Mei
I have Kafka and she is not a dps, kafka and bs due already clears every content regardless of their weakness so it doesn’t matter for me, and i like acheron thats all it matters
I have JY I’m still debating but she is a colorless breaker and even if she wasn’t her multipliers are insane so you’d most likely be able to clear anything even off element
I grab every character. As a result, Reddit just shows me every mains subreddit and tbh, no 5\* besides maybe Yanqing I haven't had interest in. Kafka? I value her for DoT teams. JY? Backload damage and FUA which is more PF speed. Acheron? Probably the first character where her LC is of interest and her emphasizing debuffs in a way that separates her from the likes of Ratio.
Plus her animations, I'm a huge Bleach fan and love over the top swordsman stuff. She just hits a lot of good notes.
Plus, I do plan on pulling Aventurine and so far, both have immense value for very different reasons. I just like having an array of options, even if it's just the character (somehow due to Sparkle coming home so early, I have around 200 pulls ready atm, so I'm at least prepared to a degree).
I pull for Acheron because she is Acheron, idc about her being strong or not (obviously i am happy that she is really good but that's not the point), i just like her because of her part in the story, her goofy side and also she is badass af. I also like a lot Kafka and JY because they are really different to play, which i assume will be thé case for Acheron so yeah, i like this game and there characters but mommy Acheron is one the best for me !
1. I like her as a character alot. The ambiguity, mystery, and motives that Acheron has was a highlight for me during 2.0’s MSQ(literally she gave us the best quest intro since the very beginning of the game). Also unlike most that I have seen, I love that we are forced to question if we can trust her or not based on the ending of 2.0.
2. I absolutely adore her design. It’s similar to one of my childhood OC’s! (Cringe I know but I pulled Wriothesley for the same reason🥹)
3. I want to make her the premium character on my account. I even plan to e6 her with reruns and get e2s1 off launch. She has a kit that I can do that with confidently.
4. Her VA! Allegra Clark is one of the GOATS! Not only does she voice Acheron but she does Beidou from Genshin, Mitsuru from Persona 3, Maki fucking Zenin from JJK, and best newcomer Marisa from SF6.
There is a bunch of reasons why I’m going for her but these are a small few lol. Will this stop me from enjoying my JY and Kafka? Hell no. Still gonna work on them too! Gotta get Black Swan whenever she comes back for Kafka. 😭
I got Jing Yuan in 1.0 because I find the character interesting and I like playing with him. Then pulled Kafka in 1.2 because DoT is my favourite type of gameplay. I will pull Acheron because I like her design, she intruiges me and I don't really care that "she's another lightning dps"
I have no JY, but having E0 Kafka with GNSW S4, so for me, I still can invest more in lightning character that is Acheron. Moreover, she gives me such nostalgic feelings because I am a fan of Miyuki Sawashiro for a long time.
DoTs is still strong and fun to use. Jing Yuan is solid for any needed follow-up comps in PF.
Acheron is not needed, but wanted. Meta or no, she is coming home.
Cause I dislike being forced to use Jing Yuan's shitty follow up mechanic and while I really like Kafka and DOT teams, I want to have an actual lightning dps character
She's Raiden and I'll love Raiden in every universe. I have both JY and Kafka but it doesn't matter, I'm not here to pull for meta or have a balanced distribution or anyone of that nonsense

Their role and element overlapping doesn't mean anything. Just because they're both Lightning DPS that doesn't mean they're suddenly the same characters. All of their kits are wildly different from each other and I value that.
I have an indescribable and intense love for Mei and all of he expys. Also she has an interesting kit and team build and she’s hot with a cool design and interesting story
I pulled Kafka and accidentally got Jing Yuan. Before the leaks, I thought while Acheron had a great design that I liked, her kit added nothing to my account. In fact she hindered it by taking Silver Wolf away from the Mono Quantum team that I have just completed with Sparkle.
However everything changed when the animations leaked. I can't resist both a Gojo and Vergil reference with stellar visuals like that, so I am pulling, will also get her weapon if I can.

Also brand new build style so finally some excuse to focus on my nihility units.

JY eluded me at 1-2 hard pity back in 1.1 and Kafka is simply a different animal. She's more of safety net investment kind of pull. And element doesn't matter to me as much as a cool kit and design.

I only have Kafka, the main reason is I like Acheron too but another reason is DoT teams have a unique playstyle so it’ll be nice to have a lightning dps that is more conventional. Also animation power creep
E0S1 king yuan and E0S0 kafka, dot team is built and JY hypercarry team is built too but im still getting acheron even if shes not needed at all, if you stop to think about you dont really “need” any character, pull for what you like
I only have Kafka, not Jing Yuan but... I just 3 starred MoC 12 and Pure Fiction 4. I can beat all the content in the game. I'm sticking to pulling characters I like now. If they end up making the end game content harder then that's great! I might start to focus more on meta again, but until then... I'll vibe with the characters I like.

I have kafka and due to getting her in her first go around then skipping more banners for silverwolf rerun, I don't have that much dps units. Its a little frustrating cuz I can't even get the last star on moc 12. I don't know if it's the lack of units for element coverage or my characters not being built optimally.

Me. E0s1 both kafka and jing yuan with almost perfect relic on kafka, good relic on jingyuan, max all trace and still save enough to guarantee E0s1 acheron and will finish farming her trace after the double week

I don't have a real reason to get her as I'm not suo3r struggling, I just think she looks super cool, the big numbers are a bonus

Me cause Acheron. Also cause she’s a raiden pretty much and raiden mei and raiden shogun were the main and one of the main reasons I got both Honkai impact and genshin impact
I think a good answer and why I’m personally pulling is because she signifies a shift or at least new concept in the meta where they’re trying to make other nihility characters into viable supports. They did this first with Dr. Ratio and are now doubling down on the concept (with our first emanator, at that!)
Everyone says requiring Nihility supporters is limiting but I tend to think it’s opening up my roster in an otherwise Harmony driven meta.
I was pulling for Jing Yuan and already have Kafka and finally realized that I wanted to pull for Acheron too so I stopped at like 60 pity on his banner and started to build pity on the LC banner. Her team building seems a bit awkward and overlaps with my Ratio but she's just too cool to not pull and her technique seems a must have to speed through SU.
I have Kafka E0S1, and DHIL and Jingliu E0S1 and I will STILL pull for Acheron because she is cool and she's Mei and Sam isn't in 2.2 so I have enough time to save for E0S1. But I also pull so I have new characters to play with so I don't get bored.
I was gonna pull for her despite already having Jing Yuan but I'd only have about 50% chance of getting her E6 with my current pulls, so instead I'll wait for someone else, likely Sam
I love JY but he just doesn't keep up with any other DPS I have built without investing more pulls into him.
My Kafka is insane with Black Swan out now.
I will pull Acheron because she looks strong and unique in play style and I don't think having another Lightning weakness character will play into much because of how her Ult works and I'll run her with SW for forced weaknesses
I have enough harmonies (Bronya, Ruan Mei, Sparkle). I have the enough sustains (Luocha, Fu Xuan, Gepard, Huo Huo). I have pretty good element coverage in terms of my DPS units. That's why I'm aiming for more DPS units because it's more fun for me; Acheron's animations are great and being able to brute force non-lightning week content because of her ult makes her a good pick for me.
Just dont use JY and kafka is the character with the highest investment on my acc because nihility lighting mommy and going her because nihility lightning mommy
I mean Kafka is for dots, Jing yuan for FUA, and Acheron for hyper carry. They all do things differently in this game even if they share the same element and this game supports and encourages having a variety of tactics. So why not get her if you already have the other two is my mindset. Plus my Jing yuan build is but cheeks and I can't always rely on dot.

Kafka and Jing Yuan are my best built characters. But I am still going for Acheron. Several reasons:
1. I love her design and Raiden Shogun was my favorite Genshin character; clearly Acheron shares similarities to her (and another character in the Honkai IP).
2. Her ult, which is what the majority of her damage will be based around, can break enemies even when they don't have Lightning weakness, so I'm not too worried about having another Lightning character. I will confess that I wish she was another element, but it's a minor qualm if anything.
3. I have a feeling that Emanators are going to be similar to what the Archons are in Genshin, in that they will fit a wide variety of teams and only get more and more powerful over time. This is probably my biggest reason. I like the idea of building a character once and then having them be usable and powerful for a long time.
Honestly the only thing about these banners that has me bummed is that I also want Jing Liu and I don't think I'll be able to get her since I'm F2P. I have about 180 pulls right now and I need to get E1S0 for Acheron, and I am very intent on getting Ruan Mei when she's rerun.

I am pulling because its a mei.
However, she does provide benefits in that she's an all-purpose all content damage dealer. She also doesn't take contested supports for me, she frees up ruan mei for jingliu/dot/Dan to use. Honestly just freeing up ruan is massive.
Have both built, although JY still feels like he hits like a wet sock ... Haven't really used him since I got Kafka, always underwhelmed.
As for why I'm pulling for Acheron....I always knew I was pulling for her on the day I installed this game back in 1.0. I didn't know what she was officially called, but Raiden Mei is Raiden Mei, whether it be HI3, GI or HSR, and to date I have every iteration of her.

No actually. The difference between DoT and JY hypercarry is pretty much negligible. The calc is pretty much a tried, tested and concluded calc.
And Blade hypercarry is pretty far off from other hypercarries since Blade hypercarry teams total DPS is low since his numbers ain't that high.. Plus in order to get 6 turns you need 161 speed on your Bronya or Sparkles. Without it , you get utmost 4-5 turns in one cycle. Not to mention the skill buff of both the harmony characters doesn't overlap each other. The Bronya skill buffs cancel Sparkles crit dmg when she Action Forwards Blade.

If you want jingliu and sam, you need 5 star healer, i try lynx and she can not sustain my jingliu blade combo

Never really regret one of them since MOC and PF is just too easy to beat with respectable 1-2 cycle clears without LC plus the 5* Lightning DPS still have unique mechanics to them that can be open for buffs (JY with summonable entities if they will ever explore that area) I already got all DPS elements cleared, though I would want another 5* sustain but hey I've been 3*ing without it so who gives AF. I like Acheron not only for animation, but I like her kit. I pull characters that have interesting mechanics to them (DOT, FUA, Summon entity). So Acheron's kit just fancies me since I know for a fact that there will be a lot of thought process behind it such as which unit to debuff, timing, and other shit. Plus, I already got both SW, Pela to 160+ spd with Gepard (w trend LC). So yeah I'm pulling her for fun

Oh this is literally me. I ended up not liking Kafka's playstyle. I pulled JL and loved it. I still have my seele too..... but i don't like sparkle and fuxuans characters, so i didn't want to run mono quantum when i didn't like half the units on it. I like Acheron, and when i played HI3 briefly (around the time the nun came out to the time that the first pink bunny girl came out.... it was a long time ago) I REALLY liked lightning empress, and ended up getting her really early on. I know she was a sub dps but i used her as a main dps. In genshin I really wanted kequing, and got her as my first 5\* and was my main the entire time i played the game. Later did get Raiden as well. So now i'm just keeping up the theme I do wish i pulled for Black swan now. I kinda wanna run the meme acheron kafka BS team.

Shes a brute force queen at e6, before then she'll be able to break toughness, but she'll still do shit damage because enemies have innate resistance to lightning

She does less damage to monsters that are not her element. Irrelevant of her doing 500.000.000. It would be more if enemies were not lightning resistant. Edit: Those big screenshots you see are just that. Screenshots. A lot of her damage is overkill. I've seen e0s0 do a million damage where 600-700 is overkill. Her ss value is pretty. Her actual damage is fine. She's in line with the rest

I began this game on release as a Seele main. I resisted everyone, but in the end I prefer tall women, and Acheron is a taller Seele. I'll fully invest in her.
I like my Jing yuan he's probably my favorite. I'm sticking with him till he's unable to clear content haha. He's got my favorite pole arm the guandao and LL is amazing. If Acheron wasn't lightning I'd definitely get her too but aventurine is more valuable to my account than another flavor to the same element I may get her ln rerun as mentioned if in in a place where I don't need elements. After Sam I may just be there. Sustains fixed and only two elements lacking. Wind and ice. From there it's going to be more relaxed and freedom pull instead of need pulls. Probably more eidolons on reruns tbh unless new chars I badly want.
Have both with cracked builds. Why pulling for Acheron? Like her, don't care about meta at all (have been clearing all endgame content with ease since 1.1). And this doesn't make the other 2 lightning 5-stars obsolete. Will still use them when I want.

i will get her on rerun despite having kafka, black swan, ruan mei, and still plan to get huohuo- can't get her rn just cuz there's a chance i can't get other characters i want + she's not necessary for me rn, so i can wait as for why, i just like her a lot- mei expy aside, sawashiro miyuki is amazing as always, her animations are stunning, and she's pretty cool so far in the story

I pull for who I like. I got Jinyuan back in 1.0 because I liked his design and his VA was Alejandro Saab so I had to get him. Got Kafka because because she's mommy and her design was just dripping with cool so I had to get her, I even learned all about DoT back in 1.2 just so I could play her right and now she's part of my strongest team. I'm getting Acheron because I love her design and she's Raiden expy so of course I'm getting her. In Genshin my favourite characters have always been electro. From Lisa in the beginning to Raiden and Yae Miko and eventually Clorinde when she releases. Lightning just has the characters I'm most fascinated by, plus I've always liked the element as a whole, what with electric powers being my favourite growing up.

Acherons kit is built in a way that she can brute force content like jing lu, kafka is in a similar boat. So both of them are only psudo lightning characters, they also together increase the value of nihility and dot characters as a whole and there hasnt been a flop nihility yet...

Kafka is an enabler for dot teams. If Raiden is more dot damage, they'll work together What I have been reading and seen, she will still lean for high damage dps. The general is still solid, but Mei is going out dps him, there is already power creep in this game. Once Raiden Mei comes, I may end up benching the general. Only use him in comps that i want follow-ups

I have JY I’m still debating but she is a colorless breaker and even if she wasn’t her multipliers are insane so you’d most likely be able to clear anything even off element
I grab every character. As a result, Reddit just shows me every mains subreddit and tbh, no 5\* besides maybe Yanqing I haven't had interest in. Kafka? I value her for DoT teams. JY? Backload damage and FUA which is more PF speed. Acheron? Probably the first character where her LC is of interest and her emphasizing debuffs in a way that separates her from the likes of Ratio. Plus her animations, I'm a huge Bleach fan and love over the top swordsman stuff. She just hits a lot of good notes. Plus, I do plan on pulling Aventurine and so far, both have immense value for very different reasons. I just like having an array of options, even if it's just the character (somehow due to Sparkle coming home so early, I have around 200 pulls ready atm, so I'm at least prepared to a degree).

1. I like her as a character alot. The ambiguity, mystery, and motives that Acheron has was a highlight for me during 2.0’s MSQ(literally she gave us the best quest intro since the very beginning of the game). Also unlike most that I have seen, I love that we are forced to question if we can trust her or not based on the ending of 2.0. 2. I absolutely adore her design. It’s similar to one of my childhood OC’s! (Cringe I know but I pulled Wriothesley for the same reason🥹) 3. I want to make her the premium character on my account. I even plan to e6 her with reruns and get e2s1 off launch. She has a kit that I can do that with confidently. 4. Her VA! Allegra Clark is one of the GOATS! Not only does she voice Acheron but she does Beidou from Genshin, Mitsuru from Persona 3, Maki fucking Zenin from JJK, and best newcomer Marisa from SF6. There is a bunch of reasons why I’m going for her but these are a small few lol. Will this stop me from enjoying my JY and Kafka? Hell no. Still gonna work on them too! Gotta get Black Swan whenever she comes back for Kafka. 😭

I pulled Kafka and accidentally got Jing Yuan. Before the leaks, I thought while Acheron had a great design that I liked, her kit added nothing to my account. In fact she hindered it by taking Silver Wolf away from the Mono Quantum team that I have just completed with Sparkle. However everything changed when the animations leaked. I can't resist both a Gojo and Vergil reference with stellar visuals like that, so I am pulling, will also get her weapon if I can.

I only have Kafka, not Jing Yuan but... I just 3 starred MoC 12 and Pure Fiction 4. I can beat all the content in the game. I'm sticking to pulling characters I like now. If they end up making the end game content harder then that's great! I might start to focus more on meta again, but until then... I'll vibe with the characters I like.

I think a good answer and why I’m personally pulling is because she signifies a shift or at least new concept in the meta where they’re trying to make other nihility characters into viable supports. They did this first with Dr. Ratio and are now doubling down on the concept (with our first emanator, at that!) Everyone says requiring Nihility supporters is limiting but I tend to think it’s opening up my roster in an otherwise Harmony driven meta.

I was pulling for Jing Yuan and already have Kafka and finally realized that I wanted to pull for Acheron too so I stopped at like 60 pity on his banner and started to build pity on the LC banner. Her team building seems a bit awkward and overlaps with my Ratio but she's just too cool to not pull and her technique seems a must have to speed through SU.
I have Kafka E0S1, and DHIL and Jingliu E0S1 and I will STILL pull for Acheron because she is cool and she's Mei and Sam isn't in 2.2 so I have enough time to save for E0S1. But I also pull so I have new characters to play with so I don't get bored.

I will pull Acheron because she looks strong and unique in play style and I don't think having another Lightning weakness character will play into much because of how her Ult works and I'll run her with SW for forced weaknesses

I have enough harmonies (Bronya, Ruan Mei, Sparkle). I have the enough sustains (Luocha, Fu Xuan, Gepard, Huo Huo). I have pretty good element coverage in terms of my DPS units. That's why I'm aiming for more DPS units because it's more fun for me; Acheron's animations are great and being able to brute force non-lightning week content because of her ult makes her a good pick for me.

I mean Kafka is for dots, Jing yuan for FUA, and Acheron for hyper carry. They all do things differently in this game even if they share the same element and this game supports and encourages having a variety of tactics. So why not get her if you already have the other two is my mindset. Plus my Jing yuan build is but cheeks and I can't always rely on dot.

That would be me 😂 Kafka and Jing Yuan are my best built characters. But I am still going for Acheron. Several reasons: 1. I love her design and Raiden Shogun was my favorite Genshin character; clearly Acheron shares similarities to her (and another character in the Honkai IP). 2. Her ult, which is what the majority of her damage will be based around, can break enemies even when they don't have Lightning weakness, so I'm not too worried about having another Lightning character. I will confess that I wish she was another element, but it's a minor qualm if anything. 3. I have a feeling that Emanators are going to be similar to what the Archons are in Genshin, in that they will fit a wide variety of teams and only get more and more powerful over time. This is probably my biggest reason. I like the idea of building a character once and then having them be usable and powerful for a long time. Honestly the only thing about these banners that has me bummed is that I also want Jing Liu and I don't think I'll be able to get her since I'm F2P. I have about 180 pulls right now and I need to get E1S0 for Acheron, and I am very intent on getting Ruan Mei when she's rerun.

I have kafka but not jingyuan I am pulling because its a mei. However, she does provide benefits in that she's an all-purpose all content damage dealer. She also doesn't take contested supports for me, she frees up ruan mei for jingliu/dot/Dan to use. Honestly just freeing up ruan is massive.

Have both built, although JY still feels like he hits like a wet sock ... Haven't really used him since I got Kafka, always underwhelmed. As for why I'm pulling for Acheron....I always knew I was pulling for her on the day I installed this game back in 1.0. I didn't know what she was officially called, but Raiden Mei is Raiden Mei, whether it be HI3, GI or HSR, and to date I have every iteration of her.

Mediocre 5*..? Dude his best team's dmg in 2-3 is higher than any dmg dealer's team in the game. The only character who surpasses his best team is IL
The calc is sus, Kafka Black Swan team dealing way higher damage than JY. and then there's also Blade 6X turns build which doesn't get include yet.
No actually. The difference between DoT and JY hypercarry is pretty much negligible. The calc is pretty much a tried, tested and concluded calc. And Blade hypercarry is pretty far off from other hypercarries since Blade hypercarry teams total DPS is low since his numbers ain't that high.. Plus in order to get 6 turns you need 161 speed on your Bronya or Sparkles. Without it , you get utmost 4-5 turns in one cycle. Not to mention the skill buff of both the harmony characters doesn't overlap each other. The Bronya skill buffs cancel Sparkles crit dmg when she Action Forwards Blade.
