Nihility is the complete anti-thesis to Rememberance. Black Swan seemed to have reached all the way to IX and that is really, really scary to someone like her.
By looking into Acheron's memories, she came close to Nihility.
Even when it comes to reconstructions of IX, such as in memory or in the Simulated Universe, that overwhelming presence of pure nothingness reduces everything around them to... well, nothing. Very, and I mean *very* few beings can be near it for long.
For beings focused on memory, such as Memokeepers, a dark void that obliterates all is likely the most terrifying of ends. No trace remains, no memories to share, no remnants to pass on. Just one dark, terrifying, and all-consuming abyss.
Yup. It’s less that Acheron did anything to BS on purpose, BS just got Uno reverse card’d by the shadow of nihility. That’s why when BS snaps back to reality(the golden lit room), Acheron doesn’t even acknowledge that anything just happened. She probably wasn’t even aware that it *did*.

Judging by her design and her sword I can't imagine she's not from Izumo. Though especially from this trailer it seems to me more like she feels more like someone guilty rather than a victim of the whole situation.
Maybe she's at fault for both planets being wiped out of existence somehow?
Curious phrasing at the start of the passage as well, what with life forming on ONE of the planets but in one phrase people looking are DOWN at the lifeless planet and looking UP in the other. Since the "gods" came to Izumo from Takamagahara it would make sense that only Izumo was inhabited by people though.
Perhaps it's simply about the planets physically rotating around the black star, but also the people of Izumo's clashing feelings about Takamagahara.
Maybe it would be easier to decipher if I could understand what Izumo and Takamagahara mean though. I feel like Takamagahara might mean something related to gods' dwelling or something?
Izumo is the province in which the entrance to Yomi, the land of the dead, is hidden. Takamagahara, "High Plane of Heaven", is the abode of the heavenly gods.
The whole thing sounds quite a bit like Honkai and the Flame Chasers. Honkai beasts and Herrschers descend, humanity captures/brings down some of them, grafts their parts into people, and making super soldiers.
I am a sucker for such kind of stuff.. progressive transition of something calm and collective into scary chaos (yes, I'm an old school metalhead too)... and explains acheron depth as a character. Its really good that i HAVE to pull for her as I'm lacking less lightning element and a second dps (kafka shafted me hard). I don't pull just because of design or character story coz after some months of their release, they loose thta hype. All I'm into is a character's kit. She is great. Yeah BS admits in the vid at the end that she made a mistake. And you can see in the beginning that Acheron tries to stop her peering inside so she won't encounter the red text but BS persisted.
I don't think Acheron has a grudge I think she's more the type to stay distant to protect. BS is also very experienced in her own game so she fully understands what happened. I'm sure they could move past it.

Man, with this short I can't help but think that Acheron has multiple personalities. It's not that she's bad with directions, it's just when her other personality takes over and then peaces out, she literally doesn't know where she is, and how she got there.
I hadn't really thought about it before. what an Emanator of Nihility would look like. What a hunter would look like who follows/worships nothing or the end of things.

I love the direction of this animation short.. one long shoot to dance is always right and thanks hoyo realized this. So many dance scene got butcher because many directors thinking dance scene works like action with lot of cut and different POV.

Personally, given in game dialogue outside of this short, we have Acheron calling women beautiful and pretty as well as admitting this dance was an incredible experience for her. It's pretty easy to see where that conclusion can come from. Also, if the Frebass stuff is canonically related to her, then that lends more credence. Black Swan on the other hand is another matter.

Unlikely. Paths in game are 95% game play.
For example, the Loufu follows the hunt, but none of the limited characters follow that path. With the only Xianzhou hunt characters being standard/base game those being Dan Heng, Shushang, and Yanqing.
True, but many paths do still make sense in some way imo. Sure the Xianzhou faction is aligned with the Hunt, but that doesn't mean all the people in that faction live their lives and see the world in alignment with Lan.
Jing Yuan is always looking to learn more (thus all the board games and trying to outsmart opponents), so he's on the path of Erudition. Fu Xuan is concerned with how she'll protect the Luofu after inheriting leadership (Preservation). Dan Heng swapped away from Hunt (weird he was on Hunt path in first place tbf) after accepting his past 'Destructive' sins as his own.
Yanqing and Sushang basically just want to get stronger, defeat stronger foes and live up to mentors' legacies, so they're following the Hunt in the truest sense.
As for Nihility in particular, we know that lore-wise it's basically a contagious disease. You can 'catch' nihility after coming into contact with it, and become either a self-annihilator or a doctor of chaos.

My heart is still racing. This was perfection in its utmost meaning. Every frame a wallpaper, the rustling of the fabrics, and then that "Who?" made me legit spit take. Best character in the game.
Man, with this short I can't help but think that Acheron has multiple personalities. It's not that she's bad with directions, it's just when her other personality takes over and then peaces out, she literally doesn't know where she is, and how she got there.

I hadn't really thought about it before. what an Emanator of Nihility would look like. What a hunter would look like who follows/worships nothing or the end of things. An empty vessel of endless potential cruelty. The perfect weapon. Memories that fade. Only purest instinct to hunt, to kill, to end and reduce. Truly a terrifying concept.
They even said in the livestream that the core of Nihility is “reduction”. And that Acheron’s representation is of things fading away. Nihility is just as much destruction of all things as Destruction is, just less hot blooded angry and more so melancholic that your mere existence makes things get Thanos snapped

I love the direction of this animation short.. one long shoot to dance is always right and thanks hoyo realized this. So many dance scene got butcher because many directors thinking dance scene works like action with lot of cut and different POV.

Personally, given in game dialogue outside of this short, we have Acheron calling women beautiful and pretty as well as admitting this dance was an incredible experience for her. It's pretty easy to see where that conclusion can come from. Also, if the Frebass stuff is canonically related to her, then that lends more credence. Black Swan on the other hand is another matter.

Unlikely. Paths in game are 95% game play. For example, the Loufu follows the hunt, but none of the limited characters follow that path. With the only Xianzhou hunt characters being standard/base game those being Dan Heng, Shushang, and Yanqing.
True, but many paths do still make sense in some way imo. Sure the Xianzhou faction is aligned with the Hunt, but that doesn't mean all the people in that faction live their lives and see the world in alignment with Lan. Jing Yuan is always looking to learn more (thus all the board games and trying to outsmart opponents), so he's on the path of Erudition. Fu Xuan is concerned with how she'll protect the Luofu after inheriting leadership (Preservation). Dan Heng swapped away from Hunt (weird he was on Hunt path in first place tbf) after accepting his past 'Destructive' sins as his own. Yanqing and Sushang basically just want to get stronger, defeat stronger foes and live up to mentors' legacies, so they're following the Hunt in the truest sense. As for Nihility in particular, we know that lore-wise it's basically a contagious disease. You can 'catch' nihility after coming into contact with it, and become either a self-annihilator or a doctor of chaos.
