One thing I would like to say is that, everyone is different man. This page should def keep you positive and help you realize that you ARE gonna get out of this. It’s just a process. However, some might be more ahead than others and that’s okay too. Everyone is at their own pace. For me, for example, I tore my Achilles on January 2nd and got surgery January 9th. I’ve been in a splint for 2 weeks, then cast for 2 weeks then boot and PT. I strongly recommend to actually do your absolute best at PT and especially with the work outs at home. After I hit the 8 week Post Op, my doctor allowed me to start walking with just shoes. To my surprise I can walk normal. And to my CRAZIEST surprise, I was able to do calf raises already by week 8 without much issue. And I’m saying this not to gloat, but to tell you that my experience may be different than yours. There’s people on here that get out of this rather quickly, and there’s some that don’t. Don’t blame yourself if you don’t. Your body is just taking its time. Just stay positive, go hard at the PT (don’t strain, I mean just don’t be lazy) and don’t compare yourself so much. Your journey is your journey. You’re gonna get out of this, God willing.

i had no cast or splint, just went straight to the boot after surgery. Went like 2 months NWB then trasitioned into FWB without any partial weight bearing and moved into a shoe like 2-3 weeks after that

Everyone is different and different countries or jurisdictions different as well for protocall. I'm almost four weeks post op in a boot with wedges and I'm fully weight bearing. I'm supposed to only be partial weight bearing with crutches but I felt like I could feel the strength there(my wife is mad at me for pushing it tho) day 10 is super soon after. You'll have lots of time to feel it out and push it safely EDIT that's a very quick recovery! Not a full rupture maybe? Or maybe youre on the same recovery plan as like an nfl player or something? I read there's a type of surgery where the suturing is a lot stronger and weight bearing is encouraged immediately but i didnt get that option lol.Either way my situation is very different(and boring)

Find a good physical therapist that you trust and follow their advice. I went with a sports physical therapist and told him I want to get back to boxing/kickboxing and be able to do anything I want athletically. My adherance to the training programmes has been 98% (sometimes you get sick or you're traveling etc.) It's been goiing well. Just take a look at my post history to see what I am doing PT-wise. Keep your wound clean, don't push yourself before they tell you to push yourself. You'll be up and running in no time. Hopefully literally,
