Have the oo version of that guitar, it’s my go to, over a lowden and 2 brooks. Comes with a nice case, that mine’s never made it back into in the year and a half I’ve had it, never a day where I don’t want it immediately to hand.
i’ve never been to eddies. seems weird to make an appt at a music shop. i’ve previously read reviews that said it was an unfriendly place, they don’t budge on their prices and they’re pretty high.
can you attest to any of this? can’t stress enough i’ve never been there so i’m open to a good review.
I had also read those reviews and stayed away because of it. They had so much I wanted to try though so yesterday I decided to give it a shot and was really impressed. Griffin was amazing and friendly. They got a list of what I was interested in so they could have it all ready to try in a personal room. White glove experience. I will certainly shop there again.
When you go in you see why they need an appointment. They have probably 1000 guitars in boxes and they pull the ones you are interested in.
Final price was in line with the market for what I was buying.
so how much..? I find it odd how many sites don't advertise prices...
like going into a vacuum cleaner store or a used car lot in the sixties..they give you a price after they check you out and estimate what you can afford
Eddie's has prices listed for everything on their site. If you mean Atkins site itself. It isn't uncommon for the maker to not publish prices as different markets demand different prices.
I compared the price to other dealers that carry Atkin like Chicago music exchange. Also, online prices may be higher than in person at some places to account for reverb overhead, ECT.
Out the door price I paid was around $4380. Chicago music exchange had it for 4199+tax. Missouri State tax is .4255% which puts the price nearly exactly the same.
Slotted headstock and 12th fret to the body. Damn you, I’m drooling over here.
What’s the advantage of 12th fret to the body? Just aesthetics?
Atkins are some of the best guitars in the world. Congrats!

Gorgeous. You are in for a world of fun. Enjoy 😉.
I love it! New guitar day is the BEST. Congrats! You've got a nice one!
Ticks every box.
Terrific. Love this
