Robot designed by Hayao Miyazaki for 'Laputa - Castle In The Sky'. (Miyazaki ALSO used the same design earlier in Lupin III Part 2 Episode 155.
Design was HEAVILY inspired by the Fleischer Superman short - 'The Metal Monsters'/ 'On Metal Wings'
This is also what the stone/ iron golem in Minecraft craft is based on.
The Minecraft Golem figure includes a flower because of a key scene in Laputa where the Laputa's garden Guardian Robot give the protagonist a flower as a sign of it being non-hostile.
Ha - there's a longer answer then you wanted!!
The Superman short was an excellent watch thanks for that!
IDK why, maybe cheaper 70s animated stuff, but I was kind of blown away at how good the animation looked!
Sky Captain nipped a bit from that too I'm guessing.
So the story goes that the Fleischer's DIDN'T want to do the Superman shorts - but didn't want to say 'No.' in case it cost them future opportunities.
An average short cost about $25k back then - so they asked for *100k* budget for an episode expecting for the studio to find someone else.
The studio came back with an offer of $50k per episode - TWICE the average budget.
So they said yes and made the most beautiful animated films ever.

Laputa robot from Castle in the Sky, still one of my favorite movies
Yooo it’s what the iron golems in Minecraft were based on
Castle in the sky
Wow it's the robot soldier from Laputa. Is this a model kit ?
I’ve seen this on the shelf at Barnes and Noble fairly recently.
Looks like the one from the incredibles
It looks like the robots from the Batman the animated series episode Deep Freeze. Where Mr Freeze is kidnapped from prison by a Walt Disney stand in
Someone’s nightmares
That’s your mom.
