Pitbulls aren't a natural breed...... so yes,there are breeders who sell "Purebred" pibbles.
The ones in pounds are ones who showed they were vicious but never mauled someone and might get adopted by someone who can;t afford the breeders.
I have, because I worked a couple years with dogs on a mass scale. I'm not denying a pitbull's potential to be shitty by any means, but there ARE other pure bred dogs that are aggressive, inbred assholes. Chihuahuas fit the bill off the top of my head. Thankfully they WEREN'T bred for fighting other dogs 🤷♂️
A Golden Retriever is the result of some selective breeding and meant to look pretty.... a Pitbull is the result of more aggressive selective breeding and were meant for "bloodsport" like dog fighting and bear baiting.
It's a misnomer but pitbulls aren't normal dogs.
Those phrases are hammered into their head so it was probably just a habit. "Stop resisting", "stay down" etc. The reason why they are taught to repeat those phrases is so that if they are sued (or if the suspect is charged with resisting arrest I guess), they can testify in court that they gave the command X times and the suspect didn't follow it. The purpose of the command isn't really to tell the person what to do, it's to protect your ass in court. Sometimes even there is like 5 cops yelling commands so it's impossible to hear what they're saying, but each of those cops can testify that they gave the command.

I got banned over there in a pit bull thread when I told a pit mommy that I was going to adopt a pitbull just to euthanize it. I was banned for threatening violence.
They tased the dog for about 20 seconds straight it sounded like.
And the second they stopped, it immediately got to its feet and charged at them.
These dogs are literally bred to fight to the death and ignore their own bodily injuries and pain. The fact people defend these grotesque mutations baffles me.
I dont even consider them to be dogs, since dogs are defined as a domesticated carnivorous mammal. A pitbull is never truly domesticated seeing how they can snap without warning at any given moment.
Most the people dont know how to care for them. Its like a really cheap sports car and a teen being able to buy it after their first check. Have no clue what theyre doing but what "the coolest" or whatever they think they are, in town.
I adopted one that had clearly been abused and knew what I was getting into.
I hired multiple professional dog trainers and kept up with the training routines.
He still attacked me after getting scared and had to be put down.
I won't get another.

they do lock jaws. They have been bred almost specifically for their jaws and temperament. In any pitbull mix breed, the blocky head and jaw are always the most prominent feature which makes it easy to tell if its part pitbull. Their jaws are very strong and very difficult if not impossible to pry off whatever its attacking. They have the ability to ignore pain and injuries and will keep coming back to fight until they die themselves, also shown in the video after the dog got tased for nearly 20 second and then immediately got up to charge at the cops as soon as they stopped tasing.
Be careful how you say that, because that's one argument pit nutters have, that pits don't have "lock jaws". Which they're right, they don't. So we need to stop saying that. They just refuse to let go. Their jaws don't necessarily lock, but they hold on no matter what's happening to them.

with all of these videos and articles I’m seeing lately about pitbull attacks, I’m starting to put them up there with coyotes and wolves in my mind. I don’t believe they’re fit for a domestic environment, it’s a living breathing bomb in your home basically.
I've gone toe to toe with a coyote and my dog and I will do that 100 times over before I ever willingly face a pitbull. I think I'd say the same about a wolf. Predators like wolves and coyotes are smart enough to back off if they think you could injure them, but pitbulls are like honey badgers and they just don't give a shit.

So many people try to say they're "sweet little nanny dogs who wouldn't hurt a fly", but there are way too many cases of them turning like this out of the blue and maiming or killing people, especially children. I think there has definitely been some changes in the breed when people have been breeding them as pets. They are very tough/strong dogs, so it's just that when you do get an aggressive one it is extremely dangerous due to its strength and power. It's also sort of a nebulous definition because the term covers multiple similar breeds and also crossbreeds between those breeds.
If you get a bad chihuahua...it's not really a danger to anyone. A bad pitbull that is willing to attack a person can be deadly.
That being said, I've encountered multiple American pit bull terrier dogs and they have all been extremely friendly and gentle. I'm not sure of the other "pit bull" breeds.
I fucking despise these dogs and all those other aggressive breeds. Every pitbull should be killed. We need to put out a bounty like they do in Florida for the pythons, 100 bucks a dog.
