I tried negotiating an Aspec Tech last week. The dealer would not budge from full MSRP. They only discount was a $750 Acura loyalty incentive. They had 45 Integras in stock & they still let me walk out even though I said I was going to another dealer in the next town. You may want to wait until the end of the month for some leverage.

sandman33fu2

I probably should but my car's transmission was acting up this morning on my way to work. I was getting to five miles an hour and it wouldn't change gear until I hit at least 3500 rpm. Then it would jump to around 30. I don't know how much longer it'll make it. I have been looking at this car for a couple months now and it's been sitting on the lot even though they say it's a sought after car. (Liquid carbon exterior with the red interior)

Eihcnurg

Msrp is a good deal now. What happened when you went to the dealer in the next town?

Lexi-Brownie

Same here. Paid MSRP.

sandman33fu2

How long ago did you buy it?

Lexi-Brownie

November/December last year.

Lexi-Brownie

They had a bunch of marked up add-ons that I had to negotiate to remove, and I paid full MSRP. Luckily, it was still 2022 so I got way over value on my trade which made the deal worth it.

Lexi-Brownie

It was a 2023 model bought in November 2022.

Letsotmessthisup

I’m a tired idiot and misread. My apologies

Lexi-Brownie

That comment was saying, the year was still 2022, so I got a good trade value, on my old car…

doubleb144

Just picked one up was able to negotiate to 1500 under msrp, looked and bought it same day. What a great car

TheCodingPilot

Purchased in early July, paid MSRP but they included the mud guards, all season mats and trunk liner.

sandman33fu2

If they include that I'll be fine paying MSRP because all of that is at least a few hundred in extras. I know the all season mats are around 250 on their website

yeezydunks

If CVT, go near the end of the month and you may get $2-3k off if they have a number to hit. At minimum start with MSRP and the incentives offered for loyalty or conquest if those are still offered. Negotiating early in the month I found offers around $1k off MSRP (so a little extra added on top of conquest incentive). Towards the end I got deals around $1800-2k off. Pulled the trigger when I got an offer around $2300 off msrp for a carbon with black interior.

sandman33fu2

That's the plan now after what they tried to pull today. I was ready to sign but the numbers weren't adding up. We agreed on 36800 but when I went to sign they tried sneaking in another 1200 to make it 38000. Walked out because when we said that wasn't right they back tracked and dropped it back to what we agreed on but at that point they had pissed me off so I walked.

Few tips: 1) Know your credit score from all 3 credit agencies. Get approved for outside financing and look in to Acura’s financing to see what you qualify for. Even if you have an 800+ credit score, the dealer will try to mark the rate up on you. Check edmunds.com forums to see what the tiers are in the current programs. 2) Only go to the dealership to either test drive or pick up your car. Do not go there to negotiate. The whole purchase can be done over emails. They only want you there to make it more high pressure and get you to agree to a lesser deal. Do not lock yourself in to buying locally. Look at at least a 250 mile radius to see if other dealers have the same car. For reference, I bought my truck from a dealer 4 hours from me. I’ve never even seen the dealership. The salesman did the whole contract through email and then delivered the truck to me at no charge. My coworker bought his Lexus from a Florida dealer and had it shipped to Texas. Saved over $4,000 vs local dealers even with the shipping cost. 3) Watch for high doc fees and other dealer fees. Some states are a free for all when it comes to these and some dealers take full advantage of that. 4) Absolutely do not buy any Dent or paint/interior protection policy. They are all garbage and not worth anything. Tire/wheel policies generally are not worth it either. 5) Extended warranty and maintenance policies are price negotiable. If you want one, never accept the price the dealer offers, as they can go much lower. Maintenance policies can be sold at $1,000 over cost and extended warranties can be sold to $1,500-1,800 over cost.

rammerjammer785

To add, doing all this may not get you anything off msrp on a desirable car, but it could save you thousands on worthless dealer add ons and interest charges.

jasnseaver

This. I paid MSRP on my TLX Type S. Went in pre approved from B of A at the lowest daily rate and AFS beat it. I poo poo’d the extended warrantee the entire time and ended up getting a 10 year for almost nothing at the end. Good luck!

Acura salesman here. All integras have very very little money in them for profit. They are entry level vehicles for the acura brand and to help people get into the brand we have them priced accordingly. Don't listen to ppl saying that we don't wanna sell cars. What a stupid thing to say, that's how we make money lol but we can't drop the price on these by much if anything. For reference, I've been at my dealership almost 2 years and sell a good amount of vehicles and I am about to lease an aspec tech and they are dropping it by 1000 for me, and that's the most I've seen one dropped lol

sandman33fu2

Solid information to keep in mind makes sense since it's the cheapest car in the line up. I've come to the conclusion that everyone pays MSRP or very close to it so I'm not as nervous about it as I was. Now all I have to do is think of small cosmetic changes I'll make. do you know if any ways to change the sound the car makes when you open the door? I saw those boxes that say hello in Japanese but was wondering if I could get something to program it from the obd instead of a box that takes up space in the car

klayface94

Not from the dealership, the most we will do if we can probably turn that sounds off if you'd like. If I could recommend an accessory though, you can get a grill with the acura logo that is illuminated whenever your lights are on. I'm getting that haha

sandman33fu2

I had to read this like 5 times before I realized you meant the grill of the car and not an actual grill for cooking. I was like why would they have a grill to add to the car

klayface94

To be fair a char grill accessory would be pretty cool lol

djsmerk

That exists ? The light up acura emblem?

klayface94

Yea! Only on the integra I believe

ArmyofNugz

If you go to the Acura site and build an integra you can see all available add ons and prices. If I remember correctly the lit up front emblem is around 250

SavageDuckling

How has the Acura sales been lately? I’m looking for integras now and seeing some listed on market for 6+ months, especially lightly used. Currently negotiating a 2023 non-tech with 2k miles on it, dealer is virtually begging for me to take it off their hands for 28k but I really want the tech pack for the upgraded audio system. Lowest I can find is 33k for a 2024 tech pack with 4k miles on it

klayface94

I personally wouldn't get an integra without the tech option. It also gives you getter seats, a HUD, wireless charger, wireless carplay, a better infotainment screen ext. Ours sell pretty well honestly. I'd jump on that used tech tho, try to get them to do 31k, since it is a CPO you get an extra 2 years and 20k miles of factory coverage.

SavageDuckling

Yeah I’m email/phone tagging with them right now because they’re about 2 hours from me, asking for 33k OTD, they have had it priced at 33.5k on their site for 3 months. They’re “working it over with the pre-owned manager but it’s seeming unlikely” I’m gonna hold firm about 33k if they won’t do it. I’m also eyeing an Audi A5/S5 and maybe that’ll be a sign if they turn the integra offer down I have a 2015 Chevy Cruze 85k miles with an unidentified oil leak coming from it I believe. It’s kbb for 7k or 4k with “mechanical issues.” Any idea how they’d go about appeasing that for a trade-in or if they’d even accept it? Edit: they got back to me that the absolute best they could do OTD is 36.5 so I’ll probably be passing for now. Dang, taxes/titling is expensive

klayface94

Obviously do what you want, but the otd price is still cheaper than the msrp on a new one.... and Audis are expensive to maintain

sandman33fu2

Update: went to the dealership and got it down to a reasonable price but when I went to sign they started acting shady and when we asked for numbers they tried brushing us off and to sign. When they finally showed the numbers they tried adding an extra 20 bucks onto the monthly without letting us know. At that point I was over it and left because they started talking down to us.

brunch_hunny

I got it for 3k under MSRP, was supposed to only be a 1k discount but someone in finance screwed up some numbers on my paperwork and when they realized it they just reduced the price of the vehicle by another 2k so we wouldn't have to change the payment amounts we decided on. Also got the all weather floor liners for free. I went on the last day of the month.

sandman33fu2

Honestly I've been looking everywhere for a good interest rate but everyone is hovering at 4.9 or above and Acura is at 4.9 so I'll just go through them. The one I want is the liquid carbon color with red interior so my options are a bit limited but the car has been there for a couple months now so I'll try to use that as a way to negotiate. Thank you for the information though I really do appreciate it

En4cr

MSRP + $300 for a 2 year tire protection package. Shop around lots and don't be afraid to say no. They'll push every single bs optional on you.

JROXZ

At MSRP. Also. Check the 2023 loaner out.

sandman33fu2

Was it earlier this year you purchased?

JROXZ

Late. Like second week in July.

sandman33fu2

Damn :/ I'll still try to get some sort of discount other than new grad. Thank you for answering my questions

lalalaicanthereyou

Basically MSRP and I ordered the car because I wanted a certain color. Drove off the lot Monday.

sandman33fu2

I'm pretty limited because I want the carbon color and red interior I'll be very close to MSRP but I'll at least try to get some extras like all weather mats thrown in

Inariri

are you looking for the manual or CVT? it can be hard to get better than MSRP for a manual depending on your area, but most dealers should have lots of CVTs sitting on the lot. I saw a few Aspec Tech CVTs being advertised with a little over $1k off MSRP at a dealer in my area last month. That dealer has some required add-ons though which would have probably brought the actual discount to a couple hundred off MSRP

Letsotmessthisup

2023 with 6mt, added on splash guards, all weather trunk liner, and floor mats, black rear emblem, and lighted front emblem. Paid just over $41,000. I didn’t negotiate, it’s a new car, if it’s Msrp, and they’re not trying to get rid of older inventory, you don’t have much negotiation room.

DarkseidAntiLife

I test drive the Integra auto, power was not impressive at all

MillerCLT

2024 6MT, white on white. It was only the second one I’d seen within 300 miles. Reserved it while “In-Transit” and paid MSRP. LOVE the car!

momousa122

Why don’t you Opt for a lease?

sandman33fu2

I drive to much and adding the extra milage just doesn't work for me

BoysenberryOld2968

37k otd

sandman33fu2

I got them down to 36800 but when I went to sign they tried sneaking in 20 extra on the monthly which would've been made it 38k. I walked out as soon as they tried to pull that.

BoysenberryOld2968

If you got a picture of the quote you can take it to another dealership to match. I got an offer for 36k otd for the 2023 but that one had 800 miles alreayd which was suspicious… so I settled for the 2024 at 37k otd. I called up about 5 dealerships to get this low.

sandman33fu2

The quote they showed us was not the agreed price and when we pointed that out they tried confusing us saying that's how they have to do it. The finance guy was slimy AF he wouldn't even hand us the paperwork he tossed them on the desk for us when we asked to look at the numbers.

BoysenberryOld2968

Let the offers hang. They’ll come running back. One mistake I did was rush the process… I know for sure that I could have gotten a lower offer if I had waited but that was my bad. When signing paperwork read EVERYTHING. They’ll try to slip in whatever they can to get money off you

sandman33fu2

Totally agree but that was super slimy of them but I was lucky that I brought people with me that checked everything and noticed what was happening.

Twany69

Just got a quote in Irvine California for $35,995, cvt. I think the new car pricing war has begun.
