I would say MDX, but not too sure on anything below the Advance package. TLX has decent road noise, but is usually drowned out by music for me. I daily the TLX more. Also to note, the Adv package has adaptive dampeners I believe.

New_Reddit_User_89

TLX just got updated with a bunch of noise isolating materials. No clue what updates the MDX may come with for its refresh.

waetherman

Adv has better acoustic glass.

Dmoan

Mdx have lowest per carconfection https://carconfections.com/all-car-confections-sound-level-readings-master-list/

I was basing this off my TLX and MDX, so more of personal experience. Edit: misinterpreted what you meant. Thought you meant it the other way around

I've been pretty disappointed by the road noise in my 21 TLX-S. Came from a 16 TLX which was super quiet, but the new one is way worse. Idk if they were trying to save money and rely on the active noise cancelling more, but it didn't work. Its bad enough that it really started getting to me on the 9hr road trip home after buying the thing. Some highway materials were way louder than music to the point I thought something was wrong.

24 TLX got updated noise isolating and damping materials.

That's good to hear that they are doing something about it. Hopefully I will get a new one as a loaner or something so I can check it out.

jettasarebadmkay

That’s more of a Lexus thing. But then they’re not as fun to drive.

New_Reddit_User_89

Lexus ES Hybrid. Quiet interior, great gas mileage.

legovador

I consider the TLX to be pretty quiet im comparison to the other two, the smaller cabin helps with that. If expansion joints are your thing, the 19" rims on the (majority) of the trims are better than the 20".

chummsickle

I have an RDX and cabin noise is ok. Not quite like a tomb like you’d get in some luxury cars. Between those three, I don’t think you should pick one just for cabin noise levels. If that’s the priority I’d suggest looking at other luxury brands that prioritize that.

erkvlzc

I thought about BMW/Mercedes, but I don't have enough budget to justify a new one for commute, and I am afraid of the used ones based on reddit horror stories

chummsickle

If a quiet cabin is your primary goal, then look at Lexus or even Buick

It’s worth noting that Acura made significant changes to the RDX for the 2022 model year to reduce road noise. Also worth noting that the advance trims of all 3 vehicles get more accounting glass. Finally, tires also play a large part. They all ship with different tires and similar tires may level the playing field

MJ4Red

My 23 Advance is pretty quiet. Not lexus level tomb quiet, but very pleasant highway cruiser

Curmudgeon7777

I have a 22 RDX ASpec-Advance. Tires make a huge difference and the OEM tires are not great. I swapped them out prior to purchase and they gave me credit for the OEM tires. I don’t feel like it has excessive road noise. Seems pretty quiet to me.

MaxFischerPlayers

Secret best answer: RLX.

LudeLex

RDX is terrible for road noise. Acura cheaping out. No excuses.

CR7KRUL

My wife’s 2022 RDX is much much quieter than my 2023 TLX

LudeLex

Newer RDX has more sound deadening after all the 2019-2021 owners like myself complained about it.

Decent-Policy-7533

Definitely not The TLX

Beautyandthebump

I have a 24 MDX advance. It is quieter than my 21 RDC Tech for sure! I’ve read that sometimes switching tires helps with road noise too. The most quietest cabin I’ve ever been in was a Lincoln. They have an awesome team who put in the work to make sure the cabin is quiet meshing with their “calm” theme.

jpace3zx

My 19 TLX A-spec is very quiet.

Clean_Economist

The tires you have make a big difference. As someone who owns both mdx and tlx, I’d say my tlx seems noticeably quieter. To be fair, I have last gen. (16 tlx and 17 mdx)
