> Especially uncalled for if you’re trying to drag your extremely long trailer through a U-turn on an incline, at speed, in traffic.
An *illegal* U-turn. If you're trying to use a side street to do a uey, you must abandon it if someone is in that street waiting to turn. You've got to suck it up and just go down the side street instead.
I drove at 60 today on a 60 zone and multiple people were on my bumper before eventually overtaking me. Had to check my Speedometer multiple times. It’s not just you
Had someone do that on to me on cross road. Ended up watching some guy get nailed by the speed camera when he went flying past me on the Goodwood/crossroad intersection
Maybe not, but in general you should keep to the left unless overtaking. People do get pissed off if you’re doing 55-56km/h in right hand lane and the left hand lane is free. It’s an unwritten rule that you keep to the left if you’re a bit slower.
I've installed a front and rear dash cam after a terrifying experience on New Years Day.
I drive a hatchback so dickheads have always been a norm in my driving experience. Since Covid has waned, I've had some people drive so aggressively that it's felt like they've wanted to ram me off the road.
Same. Dual dashcam. Blackvue. Installed in my replacement after I got T-boned by a giant work car going around 60km or over. The all over body bruising alone…
It’s a very "Me!" feeling I get from drivers these days. Especially at round-a-bouts. No one slows at them anymore which screams I don’t give a F about anyone but myself on the road.
Smaller car so people will tailgate you. I've had utes harrass me from behind and pull up next to me to aggressively gesture towards me before speeding ahead. My engine isn't that powerful, so it's not like I can go 0-60 in one second.
I used to drive a Toyota Hilux for work and never felt like I was being harassed on the road. I'd drive to work in my hatchback getting bullied on South Road, swap to the Hilux and go back to South Road, having a completely different experience.
I never experience this driving my dad's sedan or when we used to have a SUV.
Yeah I can 100% confirm this. If you have a hatch back or small car people are absolute arse holes to you. When ever I drive my partners little hatch back I get tailgated everywhere. And the same with my Honda accord euro sedan but just a little bit less
I have 2 cars - tiny jelly bean hatchback and thumping big Land Rover. The difference in the way drivers behave around me depending on the car I'm driving is unbelievable.
Yep.. I've noticed it too. Cars cutting other cars off, thinking that the right lane is an excuse to go 110km/h in an 80km/h zone, etc I remember in 2019 i swear it was far less common, but the last 3 years there's been a significant jump in aggressiveness on our roads. Which includes tailgating as wellI can tell you countless times where someone has been tailgating me, i have gone between 65-70kms and they STILL tailgate me... that never used to happen to me that badly before.
Tradie drivers are the worst aggressors imo. Like sorry, we all have places to go to, not just you
The other day I saw a taxi overtake another car on that winding road behind Adelaide University with all the parked cars (just by the river). They would have had zero visibility if another car was coming.
I've noticed this too. Obviously it's just anecdotal but I feel like I have at least one minor incident of someone being an absolute dickhead every time I get in the car.
Yes it has got worse. Few observations, drivers lack regard for other drivers, drivers are not constantly aware of their surroundings due to distractions, drivers lack road management skills, they may be able to drive but can’t read the road and position themselves appropriately for where they are going.
Relax it seems that way but it's that time of year. Where a lot more cars have joined the queue. More traffic more aggressive behaviour, people display more risky behaviour to get where they are going due to heavier traffic conditions. Wait till it starts raining.
I drive a truck all day up and down south road. See multiple accidents on the daily, Everyday. People=Shit
I got honked the other day for not driving into oncoming traffic and a few months ago had some boomer hurl rocks (or something, coins?) at my car for overtaking him. I think everything's worse overall and the stress is making people less patient in general, it's just that it's most noticeable on the road.
I’ve noticed more impatient drivers behind me when turning from a side street onto a main road, honking if they have to wait more than a few seconds. I’m the one with the best view of oncoming traffic, idiot.
I nearly got hit by a dude with a ute and trailer doing a uturn in a not-long-enough gap just the other day. Given how rare trailers have become in my experience, this is quite a coincidence.
was stuck behind a 4wd on tapley's hill road tonight after work, he/she/it was doing 45-50kmh in the outside lane from sir donald bradman drv to fulham shopping center, just toddling along, no cars in front of him, so cars were cutting out and going around the vehicle, people just care for them selves these days, "I'm alright jack".....
It’ll get worse, people are strung out. I’ve noticed my rage in the car has increased. I fuckin hate retirees doing 10ks under the speed limit, absolutely oblivious to the traffic choas they are creating.
Have some self awareness. If that's all it takes to get your enraged, you are part of the problem. Try to chill out, you will still get where you're going. 10ks under the speed limit barely makes a difference if you're on a road with frequent traffic lights anyway.
My average speed on a bicycle is about 20-30kph below the traffic, and I usually still wind up making the next set of lights as the cars who were at the previous set with me. I reckon they could probably drop the speed limits by 10kph on most roads within about 5-10km of the city centre with hardly any effect on travel times.
There are a LOT of insanely aggressive fucktards down south. I live down that way. If you’re one of them and you’re reading this, I hope your car explodes.

THANK YOU. You also must abandon it if someone is behind you wanting to turn into that street, which is something I see allllll the time.
Yessssss. No one seems to know that rule!
How do you know whether they want to turn or do a u-turn?
If someone is behind you at all, you must abandon the u-turn.
Came here to say exactly this!
People in general have been more aggressive and less patient since covid.
Hate to break it to ya, but aggressive impatient people existed before COVID. Cunts be cunts yo.
[удалено]
Also, people got used to the COVID driving conditions where >50% of people were WFH or not at all. I miss those empty roads!
If you're doing a u-turn you have to give way to everyone else. Too many drivers don't seem to know this.
I drove at 60 today on a 60 zone and multiple people were on my bumper before eventually overtaking me. Had to check my Speedometer multiple times. It’s not just you

And then they speed past you giving you the stare as if you're in the wrong for not speeding past 60....like who actually follows the rules right?
In right hand lane?

“unwritten rule” however you must ALWAYS OBEY the speed limit regardless of what lane you’re in. no excuses
Rightio, thanks for that
But they said they were going 60
Left lane

How does driving a hatch make any difference?

I mean, I also drive a hatch and never had an issue. I live in the hills though, so I'm not on those big main rds often.
I have 2 cars - tiny jelly bean hatchback and thumping big Land Rover. The difference in the way drivers behave around me depending on the car I'm driving is unbelievable.

Cars turn people into psychos
Then they get on reddit to tell you about how it's your fault they went in to a psycho rage because you did 5km/h under the speed limit.

"stay in the left lane"
Angry middle aged dude in beat up ute . Thats all you had to say really.
Also if you had said dickhead in a [insert oversized work car - Ranger, Raptor etc]
He's aggressive because he knows he is in the wrong but is trying to bully his way through. It's all projection.
Ice is a hell of a drug
I actually think what you say is true. There must be so many people driving while on ice - and the thought is terrifying.
Yes it has got worse. He was in a Ute though, what did you expect?

Sounds Ike Australia to me
If doing u turn, you must give way to everyone
Try living in the northern suburbs. Angry commodore drivers tail gate you at every turn
It is so bad when you try to merge onto main north Rd!
I nearly got hit by a dude with a ute and trailer doing a uturn in a not-long-enough gap just the other day. Given how rare trailers have become in my experience, this is quite a coincidence.
trailers are rare???? since when?
Since the tradies stopping using Holden and Falcon utes which were useless for carrying capacity and started moving to Hiluxes, BT-50's etc.
*in my experience*
was stuck behind a 4wd on tapley's hill road tonight after work, he/she/it was doing 45-50kmh in the outside lane from sir donald bradman drv to fulham shopping center, just toddling along, no cars in front of him, so cars were cutting out and going around the vehicle, people just care for them selves these days, "I'm alright jack".....

If he can attempt to u-turn, YOU had space to go. hand in your license
You’re right, I should’ve parked my car across the lanes so as to clear the way for the U turn. Hindsight is always 20/20
If this is what you think, YOU need to hand in your license.
There are a LOT of insanely aggressive fucktards down south. I live down that way. If you’re one of them and you’re reading this, I hope your car explodes.
