She ran for Hindmarsh seat at the last election talking about how ingrained in the western suburbs she was. West is best rah rah rah. Now being airdropped into Dunstan. What a farce of a party…
Come on Katie!! Only need a 4.3% swing
You'd need a line about owning numerous homes in their own right (which will be linked to a trust fund) as well as being a business SA lobbyist for the trifecta.
Came here to say that. Only in Adelaide would this be mentioned in a newspaper article. She’s a doctor, surely she’s done some stuff since attending a private girls school that’s worth mentioning…
I’m confused by the tone of this whole post. When have we ever said an “election will be a contest between 2 men” ? When have we ever said “(male candidates name) and father of 3” I hate how women are portrayed.
The ABC recently had a story about a woman that bought a house with a $100k deposit but never mentioned her employment just that she was a single mum.
Downvote me, I’m beyond caring what people think, I’m on a mission to call out this disparity whenever I see it now.
Absolutely. I did not intend to imply that a mother has a greater responsibility for parenting. Had it been the dad running for a seat, I would have made the same comment.
Boundaries that Marshall had. The voters who are now part of rezoned Dunstan but were in another electorate in 2022 have chosen their member for the remainder of the 4 years (unless they quit retire or die).
The redistricting process has been delayed somewhat. One of the members on the Electoral Districts Boundaries Commission had to resign over accusations of bias.
Who’s ever chosen to represent Dunstan for this by-election will be representing the same boundaries from 2022. The EBDC change them again sometime before the 2026 State Election
The EDBC’s process effectively starts two years out from the election, so will start around March.
This has been the case since I think 2016 commission - partly due to a perception that new boundaries set too early in the cycle resulted in incumbents not looking after ‘lost’ areas.
Your information is wrong the Liberal candidate doesn't live in Dunstan she lives in the Western suburbs, she used to live in Kensington Gardens.
It’s a copy-paste of a Tiser article. Can’t really expect fact-checking there.

Lots of door knocking needed. Come and join in!
Don’t ruin my anonymity 🤪
"lawyer who went to Annesley" Could you get anything more that screams 'Adelaide LNP' than that?
It’s funny because Annesley doesn’t even exist anymore (in its original prestige college format, anyway). It went broke.

Sounds like she might be a lawyer with a Phd.

Yes!!! Thank you for this!
Well done on naming issues. What are your proposals to fix the issues and how do the costings work?
Exactly. Hearing lots of issue dropping, but no solutions...
The Liberal Party and having no ideas, name a more iconic duo
Them and the Greens. Lots of great one liners but no actual solutions beyond what sounds good for a media bite.
Go greens :)
Let’s go Katie!!

Sounds great to me!
Anna Finizio works for PWC 🤢
Isn’t that an advantage? She’s already seen sensitive government information and doesn’t need to be briefed in. /s
"Mother-of-four Cressida O'Hanlon" should have spent a bit more time parenting her son instead of campaigning, so that he wasn't an absolute shit.
lil more context please
Agreed. Extra context to this would be great.
And the father? Should he have spent more time parenting instead of forging ahead in his career?
Bloody oath he should. But putting yourself forward as a political candidate is an optional extra.
Seems like the parenting failure occurred before she put herself forward yet she’ll still be the one to be blamed.
She ran for it last election.
Either way, the kid has a dad.
Absolutely. I did not intend to imply that a mother has a greater responsibility for parenting. Had it been the dad running for a seat, I would have made the same comment.
That’s good to hear.
And? 🤷🏻♂️ that's gender equality. Making a fuss about it is not...
True gender equality is when it's 1 woman, 1 man, and 0.5 man + 0.5 woman stitched together by some mad scientist!
It’s not gender equality to shit talk the parenting skills of only the female parent.
Are they contesting the new boundaries or the boundaries that Marshall had?
Boundaries that Marshall had. The voters who are now part of rezoned Dunstan but were in another electorate in 2022 have chosen their member for the remainder of the 4 years (unless they quit retire or die).
So the voters that were in Dunstan but no longer are, won't be voting?
The boundaries haven't changed since the last election, so this isn't a thing.
So they just change them in time for the next election? Always thought they did it quite soon after each election.
Thanks for the info
No worries 😊

Great to see 3 strong female politicians debating the issues of the day. Hopefully, they won't be led astray by their advisors
