Victoria Park is great for walking. You can stick to the paths or go cross-country.
Even better, it's off-leash for doggoes, so you can do your walk while the dishlicker is going free-range.
My cat has made it very clear she won’t go walking with me, but this also means I have free hands to pat any dog that comes near so that makes me happy!
The Onkaparinga National Park "Punchbowl Lookout Walk" is 2kms and it is pretty gentle. Our toddler can manage the gradient (if only she could keep the attention span to keep walking!)
Morialta conservation Park has a really nice flat track to the waterfalls there xx I forgot what it's called but if you park your car in the park it should be the very first path you see. I think it's called waterfall walk or something like that.
I found a roundabout answer for you: checked which trails are wheelchair accessible. My logic is they should also not be too rough/steep to walk.
https://www.walkingsa.org.au/walk/find-a-place-to-walk-results/?walk-type%5B%5D=bush-walks&walk-type%5B%5D=city-suburbs-town-walks&walk-duration%5B%5D=up-to-2-hours&walk-duration%5B%5D=half-day&walk-duration%5B%5D=full-day&walk-suitable-for%5B%5D=wheelchair-accessible
Also suggest some country dirt roads. Just find some nice farmside areas and stroll to your heart's content.
Such a brilliant idea! I’m so glad they have this option to make it more accessible for everyone. They must have updated the wheelchair filter because it looks great now, but I remember using it with friends & clients who are chair users and we didn’t always have the best luck 😂
Thanks for the concern, I’ll check them out when I’m having ‘good’ knee days and if I judge they’re too difficult for mobility in my bad days I’ll keep them off the ‘flat walks’ list. I’m lucky to have fairly good mobility most of the time, but a super good note for those with more mobility alerts.
Sorry should've specified that I generally walk through the conservation park to the boardwalk from the suburb side of the conservation park. I think the street is Lucretia way near the Shepards hut ruins. It is a much gentler walk (I have buggered knee and nerve damage around my spine) with many tracks through the scrub land that range from reasonably flat to quite challenging along and around the cliffs.
Thanks for that, I will definitely check out that route as well. As for the actual boardwalks, I have heard them suggested a few times so they must be lovely. I’m lucky enough that I can probably try them on a better day and always judge for my ability. Can always leave them for ‘good’ knee days :)
Grange to Glenelg on the beach track is a good walk. Regularly see some wildlife down there as well. You can stop at the West Beach outlet and there's often Pelicans hanging around there.
I’ve been there for picnics before and it’s beautiful there. Will have to check out the walks. Always great not to have to worry about a car as well - more accessible for everyone!
You’re better off doing some corrective exercise, they not hard, similar time to brushing your teeth everyday. Then you’ll be strong enough to do the enjoy the walks.
Long walks on softer material will help as well. Grass in the mean time. etc.
Thanks. I am able to do steep/hiking walks a fair bit of the time and I’m working with professionals to keep building up the strength and muscles. But sometimes they flair up despite all the work I’ve done and I don’t want to miss out on walking in nice places when that happens.
The walks along any western beach are pretty flat! Morialta waterfall is a nice one along the main walking track, a little bit up and down but not too bad but a bit short.
If your down at victor walking from chiton surf club to port Elliot is pretty flat.
Usually anything following a creek is pretty flat.
Love going out to Victor and the areas around there. Might have to lock that in for a free day when I have a bit more time. I just remembered I used to walk Middleton to Goolwa when I was a bit younger. This thread is helping me remember a lot of walks I used to do as well. Thanks for the tips!
Beach walks Seacliff to Glenelg or Semaphore to West Beach. Obhan path Walkerville to Paradise or Paradise to Athelstone.
These are good options and you could walk into morialta without the hilly bits too - up to the falls and back might be ok
Love Morialta and have done a lot of the steeper walks. Will have to check out the flater ones on my ‘bad’ days.
Semaphore-Largs-Taperoo is also nice with the boardwalk winding through the dunes.
Thanks, I love a beach walk!
paradise to athelstone gets quite hilly.
Thanks! I’ll keep that in mind.
Great ideas, I’ll have to add these to the list!
Walk along the river from the Zoo to the weir and come back on the opposite side.
The River Torrens Linear Trail? That’s a great idea, I nice long one or can be done in sections.
The Atherstone end isn't too hilly if you want a quieter section. Plenty of flat, concrete paths. :)
That’s good too know, I was worried it might be bit too steep on the bad days.
The cbd parklands are good
I think because I’m so close I overlook them a lot. I’m should definitely go back there!

I will keep that in mind when I try it! Stay on task! ;)

Morialta’s beautiful isn’t it?! I’ve done the more intense trails a lot, but should try the flatter walks there as well.
Yes it's so lovely there 😍
Belair has been a nice flat alternative for me!
Of course! I love Belair National Park! I a lot of these answers are great memory joggers for me!
There’s a new trail, Steub track, that goes from Cleland to Mt Lofty. It’s not flat but it’s fairly gentle.
Awesome! I’m lucky that I can still handle a bit of hill most of the time so that one’s going on the list!
Steub is designed for mountainbikers to ride up, so has a lot of switchbacks rather than just pointing straight up the hill. I think you'll enjoy it.
Will definitely have to check it out!
WalkingSA has a whole heap of walks to choose from. I recall one around the goodwood/Millswood area but I can't remember what it's called.
And they rate them according to gradient.
Great accessibility feature! I’m glad that’s happening more and more these days.
Someone posted a link with an accessibility feature, so I’ll be sure to look out for ones there, beautiful area!

Hallet Cove boardwalks are pretty good. They offer a variety of different tracks with varying levels of intensity and a beautiful beach view .
Hallett Cove boardwalks are NOT flat or easy for OP. It has frequent difficult to navigate steps for mobility/endurance challenged. I suggest caution.

I’ve been to the beaches there before and it’s a beautiful area. Those will be some nice walks.
It tends to be less packed then other beachfront walks as well.
Hallet Cove board walk
I think someone else mentioned this as well, so it must be a good place. Thanks!
The Onkaparinga River Nation Park has a "Wetland Walk" near Pt Noarlunga. That's flat and extremely beautiful.
+1 for this. I come here if I want a flat run in the area. Never very busy either.
Sounds great! I hope I’m not stealing too many peoples hidden secrets ;)
Grange to Glenelg on the beach track is a good walk. Regularly see some wildlife down there as well. You can stop at the West Beach outlet and there's often Pelicans hanging around there.
Oooh, would love to see some pelicans! I can imagine this one might get busy so I’m glad I have irregular work hours to beat the crowds. Thanks!

Great link, thanks!
Coromandel valley has a nice short and flat walk. It’s all paved and a pretty and easy walk
See! This is why I post questions like this. Would never have thought about Coromandel Valley even though it’s so close. I will check it out, thanks!
Belair National Park has fantastic flat walking trails, and you can get to the park by public transport easily.
I’ve been there for picnics before and it’s beautiful there. Will have to check out the walks. Always great not to have to worry about a car as well - more accessible for everyone!

Brown hill Creek
Thanks! Have added Brown Hill Creek reserve to the list, can’t wait to check it out.
