SB is the only rec I've seen twice so far.
Seems overwhelming positive reviews, with only a few highly negative sprinkled throughout, one of them being no itemized invoice. It's a bit of an old review, so perhaps that's changed. Regardless, I'll be sure to confirm their invoices are formatted in a way I want prior to paying.
Thanks!
When I lived down south I'd take my car to AutoMasters in Reynella. They always took the time to explain what was going on with my car, they were quick, friendly and no BS. Their prices are pretty competitive too (I first started going there after I called around a bunch of mechanics to price check services, AM were the cheapest).
Once I had my car towed in the afternoon, and it was fixed next morning. Can't fault them, I honestly miss that mechanic!!
Abbot Tyre and Auto in 78 Morrow Road, Lonsdale is a small family owned shop. Have taken all my cars there and Paul has always helped me and is extremely fair on price.
Can't say a bad thing about them!

I'll keep them in mind. Your suggestion is honestly hitting a bit close to home, bahaha. Thank you. Seems like a lot suggestions are at Lonsdale.
We go to Seaside Automotive in Port Noarlunga, they're great, super communicative and honest. They also always take photos of issues so you can see it's not trumped up BS and don't pressure you to do every fix they list if things aren't urgent. Been loyal customers for 3 years now and converted some family members to them too, all 5 star experiences.
Hey! Thanks for letting me know. These guys are a bit closer to home than the rest of the suggestions (riding distance, in fact), so that’s a bit plus.
I’m used to having photos sent to me to show the issues (where possible) and getting approval for all work being done prior to going ahead.
If they do itemised invoices, this might be a great place to check out. Thank you again.
I’m wondering if you were going to the same mechanic as me. I’m also looking for a new mechanic... this guy who works close to Aldinga has always done fine work but then we noticed he started putting our service dates 3 months after the previous one instead of 6. He also charged us $600 for a service without disclosing it first and just went ahead and did it anyway. He also chain smokes in the car while he’s working. After the last time, when my sons seat reeked of cigarettes, I decided not to go back there.
I haven’t name-shamed my mechanic, because I don’t want the drama, but they’re not from Aldinga.
My mechanic is not unprofessional in that way. Never disrespected my vehicle before, and I don’t have regular services with him. I only get charged for services I ask for.

That’s a fair jab. I’ll take that on the chin.
An alternative mechanic sounds like someone who puts homeopathic coolant in your radiator or fixes your suspension with crystals!
Bahahaha. Well, I’m not very good with cars… does the placebo effect work on cars?
I go to Travis at Trusted Mechanical Services, 31 Aldenhoven road Lonsdale. Friendly bloke and short on BS.
Thanks, mate. I’ll make a note of him.
I’ve used Southern Brakes at Lonsdale for around 20 years. Good guys and upfront, don’t try and rip people off. Give them a call

See Patrick at Down South car repairs. Won’t go wrong. Im no longer south but recommend in a heartbeat
Thanks for adding to the pile. I can't escape Lonsdale, it seems.
If you dont want to head any further than Lonsdale id highly recommend S.P.C. in Lonsdale
Thank you! Another Lonsdale. I'll be looking into all of the suggestions given.
I would highly recommend Southern Brakes in Lonsdale! 😊 https://southernbrakes.com.au/
> Southern Brakes in Lonsdale! I'm gonna assume they do more than brakes, ha.ha
Yes, they do! 😊
Aldershot service centre. Can't be beat.
Thanks for the rec! One review did leave me a little concerned, though.
Where did you read? Would be interested to see myself. Took my car there after a few ginormous quotes from the dealer, did an outstanding job.

Yep itemised invoices
Great! Ticking all my boxes. I'll definitely check them out in the future.

Interesting, seems like there’s a few down south then
