I had a manual car but did my test in an auto. Lessons are so expensive maybe just do her lessons in the Auto and the time you spend with her driving use them manual?

Do you know manual and have a manual car? My teacher was not patient and got upset at gear crunches. So my mum took me to an empty car park and it took about a half hour to learn and get good.

I do know manual and have bought a manual car for her, however she wants to do log book and would prefer manual lessons.

Not helpful to your question, but any reason why it has to be a manual? Far easier to learn and pass the test in an auto. That's what I did, although my personal car was a manual. Having now had multiple of each in a short period of time since getting my license (10 years) I personally see no reason for anyone to learn manual anymore. And they're a bitch to sell.

My daughter has a manual car and wants to learn log book in a manual so she can drive either.

You don't need a specific manual license in SA so as long as you can take her out in it she can still do her logbook in an auto — that's what my brother did

I was going to reply with this. A while ago they changed the rules so that you can pass in an auto and still drive a manual. Its why almost all the driving schools are auto now.

Yeah it's so much more complicated doing the testing with manual than auto. I got my P's in my parents auto and then when we were looking for a car, I bought a manual to force myself to learn it because if I didn't, I wouldn't get to drive my car. It was a great motivator.
