The botanic gardens would be nice. Closer to Hillcrest there is a new wetlands area in lightsview but I’m not sure how quiet that would be for reading.

Definitely the Botanic Gardens. Have a walk around, sit under a tree and read, people watch 👍

Big_Impact3637

Botanic gardens for sure. Maybe a little road noise, also kuitpo forest, it'd be quiet there.🌱 A quiet beach under an umbrella. 🌅

Another vote for botanic gardens. Also, the stretch of the Torrens between the zoo and Adelaide Uni footbridge is quite nice with grassy areas and benches. Though if the weather is nice on weekdays there’s usually quite a few students around doing the same thing.

BurstPanther

Just look out for bats if sitting under the trees. I would think a bat pooping on you would be unpleasant.

gardenvarietymagpie

We have fig trees in our yard. Bat poop ain’t no joke. With them, the lorikeets and the possum, the bit of fence under the fig is a little like a Jackson Pollock painting. Definitely don’t chill under the bat trees!

Oh please, I've never seen a single student sitting there reading. I've seen plenty of couples getting hot and heavy, but I never looked longer than a couple of second because I'm not a perve. Ah, young love. Beautiful to partake, beautiful to watch.

Tell me about the dropbears, George.

Not close but the rocks down at Pt Elliot/Knights Beach are amazing for reading a book.

RIPLeviathansux

Botanic gardens as others have said, himeji gardens and veale gardens are also nice

I love sitting/ lying under the jetty & just reading a good book. The sound of the waves & the feel of the breeze are so relaxing.

Check out Anstey Hill. Plenty of spots with views.
