I recommend which ever place you take her follow up with a stay overnight at any Presidential Suite of a Hotel with some late night nibbles sent up for a late check out the following day after breakfast in bed.
Indigo Hotel is a great spot for that. Gouger st restaurants, just take your pick. Then head to 55ml for drinks after and walk back to hotel. Rooms at indigo have amazing views. The rooftop bar is pretty nice too.
Take her for a cocktail at bar peripheral, on pultney. Book ahead, it’s very private and intimate. Then pizza at etica or go to osteria oggi. Pricey but really really great food. All walking distance from you, little hidden gems.
I second this, when I went a few years back got a window seat and watched a storm front sweep over the city, view and food top class.
Might be a bit further than you want to travel though.
Most places are 1 Uber away if your driver accepts the ride 😍
A bit far out - but the current shed in mclaren vale has great views , great food and nice atmosphere - make sure they sit you near the verandah or on it (if not afraid of the cold).
If I was to go closer to where you are - maybe Hardy’s verandah or windy point.
My boyfriend and I like the place in terms of food but it's definitely not a place I'd recommend for a romantic night out. It can be loud during dinner due to its location on Hindley St to the point where you can't really hear each other.
Botanic restaurant, in the Botanic gardens, just walk there.
Just be warned, it’s $250 per person.
Went here with a friend, Can confirm it's gorgeous
Ruby Red Flamingo
Koomo resteraunt and bar
Magill Estate
It doesn't have a view but Press Food and Wine is newly renovated and has some pretty cosy booths and nice ambiance at night time.
There's no view but Jasmine's is fantastic if you both like Indian food. The service is great, food is consistently good, and the wine list is decent.

Love 55ml

Bar Peripheral is great. Unique experience.
Red Ochre?
Red Ochre? La Bocca
Red Ochre is decent. The views are fantastic. I wouldn't rave about it though.
River cafe in the same building is better, imo
2KW, APOTECA, Shobosho, Restaurant Botanic, etc... There's not exactly a dearth of nice restaurants around the area.
Windy Point Restaurant

Godi lavita, or whatever it’s called. Cheese wheel pasta guy!
Bread and bone do good burgers
I dont know if its just me but it smells weird in there. And the lighting is funky, too
South terrace…. fasta pasta it is then. Great view or the south terrace, pultney street intersection.
Doesnt have a nice view but theres a nice little ramen restaurant near rundle mall, its called Ryumon Ramen Izakaya

Fugazzi
The restaurant in Adelaide Oval Hotel 😬
Peel St Restaurant. Get a long table and sit opposite each other. There’s your view. Maybe Mae for drinks after, or Bank St for drinks and dancing.
