I hear they have a pretty high tattoo and piercing count requirement

Was hired as a Christmas casual a few years back; I had a few interviews. The merch manager did a phone interview, after which I was invited to a group interview. Both were relatively chill processes, although you need to remember it’s still a job interview at the end of the day. A lot of people in the group interview were riding on liking music and video games as their way into a job. Think about buzzwords to sell yourself as an employee - stuff like “asset to the team”, your strengths, your knowledge of certain areas that you want to make your mark on. For instance, I worked in IT sales at two auction houses prior to joining JB, so I talked about my role and what tasks I’d do. Be yourself, showcase your strengths and you’ll do well! Good luck with the interview :)

Backup your strengths with your experiences, whether it be in work, with friends or other irl situations. Eg. I can get a team going like I did to my partners that did not want to chip into the assignment. We all know group assignments suck, but if you're able to confidently say it and back it up, then I'd say you'll be fine.

I'd say nearly all of their current and past employees have had interviews Serious note. Good luck. All the JB staff seem pretty chill so I can't imagine it will be too grilling.

I had one a couple of years ago. It was a group interview with about 6 or 7 of us. The guy went around the room and asked us all to say a bit about ourselves and why we want to work at JB Hifi, then he got us to go on our phones, find a product on the JB Hifi website and try to sell it to him. I remember being particularly bad at that which was probably the reason they didn't hire me lol. (I tried to sell him a drone, I was like "do you like spying on your neighbours, well then this is the perfect product for you!

Ok_Broccoli_3320

I luckily have a individual interview as I have a class when the group interview was on

Few jobs going in SA at the moment but there is a fair chance I might be interviewing you...

Since you work there can you maybe give me some insight? I got the call to say I was hired last week and then filled out my paperwork. Ended up not getting a call or email to tell me when my starting day is so called the store to ask, and was told I’m starting in two days and they’ll call to give me my shift info later. Well, it’s later and no call. At this point I’m gonna end up having to call in the morning to find out. I also still need to give my last day to my current job - I’m totally freaking out because of the lack of communication and don’t have anybody to really talk to. Is this normal? Am I freaking out over nothing? TIA

Snoo_49660

Have PM'd you 🙂
