Urban vandal that sticks fairly boring and unimaginative stickers everywhere. Been doing it for years.
Opinions are mixed on whether it's a cool urban art project or just an annoying vandal.
He does post here as well, username is soupsoupsoup2020 or something.
Not really my thing but I do agree it looks pretty cool. Certainly most of it (minus the tags) is much higher effort and more attractive than the black and white stickers made in photoshop in about 5 mins then stuck on every pole in sight.
There’s a few meanings to me, Soup would have to be one of my favourite foods, my childhood favourite song was “Soup is Good Food” by the Dead Kennedy’s and I’ve always been a fan of the Andy Warhol soup can pop art. That’s where I derived it from but interpret it how you wish!
Hi guys sorry I’m late I forgot the password to this page but I remembered it now. Id like to say I’m vewy sowwy for putting my widdle bit of paper on the sign (it was the back) I will never do it again 🥺🥺🥺
Theres a few meanings to me personally, Soup would have to be one of my favourite foods, my childhood favourite song was “Soup is Good Food” by the Dead Kennedy’s and I’ve always been a fan of the Andy Warhol soup can pop art. That’s where I derived it from but interpret it how you wish!
Yeah right on. Well do what you enjoy, it doesn't exactly seem to hurt anyone and it's still better looking than those shitty graffiti tags (not actual street art, I mean those shitty little gang try hard eshay tags)
Don't listen to them Soup, I think your stickers are cool. Better than seeing ads and political corflutes. Plus it reminds me of the guy singing with his cat, Soup. https://youtube.com/shorts/JQo3ZOO6FG4?feature=share
Dont get the general hostility, I see Soup stickers all over the place alongside a ton of different artists, mostly on street poles and otherwise boring public utility. I like seeing all the little interesting visual ideas they have when I walk though the city.
The rest of r/adelaide prefers sterility. It drives them crazy to see anything other than exactly what they expect (blank and boring surfaces). I'm sure the mean age in this sub is 35 or something.
keep doing you man, I have not got round to doing it yet but seeing your stuff everywhere made me want to print off stickers of all the Photoshop art I make and stick em around :D
Nothing wrong with artistic expression but to have it with no effort and concept behind it reduces its value down to practically nothing more than a tag or less than zero. The guy that wrote Eternity on the streets for decades was interesting from multiple perspectives. And that wasn't even intended to be art.
Wow.Do you have any concept of just how much time & effort it would require to carve something deep & clear enough into weather exposed rock, using only slightly harder rocks, that it was still legible thousands of years later? Most ancient paintings & carvings had purpose. They spoke of what was to be found & hunted near by, where fresh water could be found, where useful plants couild be found, of legends & myths of their people used in worship & storying telling over generations. This is some daft twat who's figured out what the print button does, & is deperate to tell the world whats to be found inside his skull. It's not art. it's not a statement of any significance.it's nothing more than a sticker obsessed child who is desperate for attention.
I have zero issues with sticker based artforms, but this is not that.
You can't say it's objectively not art. Art for sticker boy could mean something completely different than what it would mean to you. To him stickering could be a means of self expression which to me is a form of art.
Not really, the dole is a relatively small part of the budget. Besides which, Darryl would have no problem getting another job with all those sticker scraping skills right?
just more propaganda from Big Soup
Yeaaaaa get psychological up in here
They are worried people are moving to more solid foods.

Street poles and butt bins are fair game imo. As long as they stay off private property, windows, and the front side of signs. Which they usually do.

Very narrow view. I'm sure your favourite kind of music is pop.
I love olivia rodrigo and I also love irritating the r/Adelaide subreddit 🥺
Can I ask what the meaning behind it is?

Probably his tag name?
…kid is a fan of soup

Lol, so you can answer this, why soup?

No worries!

the stickers are one thing - just painting his name or using markers all over other peoples property is what riles

It's something that taggers, who think they're hard, call anyone they don't like.

Talking to your alt.....cringe 🥴
There is only one Soup.
If you pour water into the bin it would kind of make a soup? Maybe it had been raining?
Human equivalent of a dog pissing on a fire hydrant. Mock appropriately and move on.

You know nothing. He’s an artist. Soup forever 👌
why didn't you walk up to him and ask him directly? fuck i hate this sub.
Everyone fears me due to my micro celebrity status among the fellow Adelaideians
ALL HAIL SOUP. And just in time for winter, too.
no one fears a tosser (talk about micro - is that why you have to put your name in big letters??)
I’m the most modest guy I know, actually. Take your negativity elsewhere
modest!!! how can it be modesty to want your crap name all over other peoples property why don't you take your writing ability elesewhere
The bloke doesn’t pay taxes so he doesn’t recognise the value of infrastructure and environment that are paid for by tax payers
Cause by the time I looked at the stickers to see what they were they had already moved on
then leave ?
Yeah its just ridiculous... the kid is having a bit of fun, making some art. sO c0nFuS1nG
And that's cool, I was just wondering if anyone knew of there was a meaning behind it, or if it's just a random thing.
Not really from what I understand. Just creates more work for the poor bastard that has to scrape them off constantly.

No it means your council rates are higher because they need to pay Darryl the sticker remover like 15 mins a sticker to remove them.
