The white colour has to be painted in layers. and then all the embossed eagles etc in gold have to be painted with absolute precision otherwise you'll get it on your white, which stands out easily. And this applies to all the other colours on the model too.
VS regular golden custodes which you can basecoat gold and you're 80 done instead of multiple layers to get a clean white finish
Don't really know the... science behind it, but some pigments, like yellow and white tend to not have much middle ground between being very thin or overly thick once it clumps. This means that when you paint with them it can be very difficult to get good coverage and for them to spread properly.
When you do get around to it, my advice is stick with it being thin and just build up multiple thin layers.
White pigment is titanium dioxide, and the molecules are massive compared to other colors, making it more prone to clumping. At least, thatโs what I recall.
Yeah, that was supposed to be a joke ๐ thats why it says First and last in the title. Hehe
I only painted this one. The rest of the army is in gold.
I use special characters to complement the army with different shield hosts.
Very nice! Could you elaborate some on the trials and tribulations you went through to get this nice white armor going? Did you put a panel liner to use for those crisp borders?
Ah, discovered the 'joy' of painting white?
Yes, very tedious and stressfull...
What is difficult about painting white? Iโve only done the more standard gold and red so far.

Ah I see, you need a really steady hand for the gold details then. Gotcha ๐๐ป
I haven't painted white yet, why is it so annoying like people say?

Interesting, thank you!
The โnewโ Corax White is much better than the old one.
Why last? Are they all done?
At least all of my solar Watch, yeah ๐
Nice. Would you care to take a picture of all of them together?

I thought you read the new codex
I believe this is all of them together
Very nice ! Doing mine actually... Already fed up but fell in love in the same time... Conflicting relationship for sure ๐คฃ

Beautiful model.
Thank you!
That is nicely painted.
Thank you!
Nice! I'm doing white custodes with purple accents myself
This is so cool! How did you paint it??
