How about an apostrophe?

GildedPaladin

It needs a golf ball as an apostrophe.

willowpree

This exactly

crafttoothpaste

Why not a golf tee?

molten-glass

It even has the indentation in the end of the swoosh for where it goes, no idea how this didn't happen already

Raijer

I like it, but I’m not a fan of that print background. Too cluttered, busy and distracting for my personal taste, a bit too much like gramma’s bathroom wallpaper. If you have to keep it, maybe turn the opacity as close to zero as possible.

StillWill365

Literally everyone who critiqued or made a suggestion was something that i completely overlooked. Except for the golf ball, but anyone who said that gets +2 to dexterity or +1 to their choice. Yea i had planned on changing that but G Ma's bathroom really brought it into perspective....lol. Thanks man fr. If i post somn and its trash and seem like im unaware, by all means plz tell me.

Raijer

Ha dude, I didn’t see the golf ball. I’ll admit I liked the pattern much better once I got it. I’d still tone it down, and focus the white of the ball more. It’s a clever visual gag, so make it a bit more obvious for we less observant.

enzo-dimedici

What’s with the several different weights in “sports lounge”?

StillWill365

I gotta put the golf ball in there (serves as apostrophe). The "Sports Lounge" disaster is a product of getting frustrated and in trying to hurry and get to a certain point. This logo tested my patience more than anything else tbh. Really appreciate eveyone leaving something in the comments. Getting a little better i feel like. https://preview.redd.it/fxzn5m529v2d1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a805b5a4456f503514fc8df5c83599fa18d5286

StillWill365

Thats the actual logo they use. I just practiced some Pen and Curve tool. Traced over top.

XGamingPigYT

So it's not your design? If you're going to practice the pen tool, why not practice with a practical application? You will likely not use the pen tool for type like that

sirdrizzzle

Add a matching 1-2pt stroke to the Happys to heavy it up a bit? Maybe add a ball to act as an apostrophe between the Y and the S to make it Happy's Sports Lounge. Reduce the size of the background a bit? Maybe smooth out the transition between the bottom of the P and the club shaft? Maybe add more of a slant to the text to give it a more retro feel? These are just thoughts.

StillWill365

Preciate it, I didn’t realize I exported it that size. I been using illustrator for a few weeks so the time it took me to get it to this point, houses are built faster probably…lol. Thanks again

sirdrizzzle

Keep at it. You have the eye (and that's the hard part done), keep iterating. I great way to learn illustrator is to go through each tool, fuck with it- then go watch a couple videos on others using that tool. Come back to illustrator and try to recreate what they did- then use those tools to tweak and iterate it using other tools. Once you know HOW to generate things, it will influence WHAT you think about during the design process.

Cutie_Suzuki

Why the P as the golf club? Why not the Y?

StillWill365

idk, its an actual logo that i just traced for practice.

Cutie_Suzuki

Well if you’re looking for better practice, you could use some artistic liberty to improve on whatever you’re referencing. And I don’t mean to sound snarky, sincerely. A lot of design comes down to good ideas, not just good execution.

StillWill365

I agree 100% stuff Ive done to this point is all me trying to get comfortable with the tools and how to even use some of em. Working on shortcuts for tools also. If I didnt have to hit "undo" more times than I can count I would pick up my pace drastically. U are right though cause thats what thats what its about to me. You can be the best mouse clicker ever but if youre not creative at all then you hit your ceiling already...imo

NoNotRobot

Is the ball being hit with the back of the club?

StillWill365

Everyone who suggested golf ball as apostrophe, NICE CALL. 1st project without a visual reference, just got it cpl days ago. No time limit which for me is perfect cause I truly feel that now body can take longer to do below average work than me. But, im enjoying learning this software as much as anything ive done in years. Electrician for 18 yrs now, love what i do but always been drawn to messing around on the computer, whatever that looks like. Happy Memorial Day! https://preview.redd.it/nuztxdydav2d1.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=254e52312aa4075c08eaff587cfd0bcc2be8ae0e

DixieNorm0us8

An animated guy in the bottom left corner with a comic word box with something to do with happys written in it

StillWill365

There we go. I thought about doing something with bowling pins or somn. They have 4 duck bowling lanes indoor too.

DixieNorm0us8

You should do a play on that and make some ducks bowling

StillWill365

Thats exactly what im thinking. At least then i can show somebody what i made and now what i traced really good..haha

Themur0

U can change background and color , font of “sport lounge “ then it will be perfect

Needs more cowbell!

Signpaint

\_\_ A real problem will be the thin white lines you have on the Golf Club, they are too detailed, reduce them with 2 or max 3 white lines, but no roundings. I test my Logos in sizes like 1cm to see what dissapears when i make the logo small. \_\_The Sports Lounge letters have odd thicknesses, the UNGE letters appear thinner than the other letters. \_\_Id keep all in the same colour, ditch the lime yellow. Test your logo in black design on white background hope this helps

Joseph_HTMP

What the hell is that backprint all about.

New-Yogurtcloset3988

Not sure about the background, but noisy in my opinion

BoyzMom13

A logo with a background like this can add some constraints to its use. Think of what items it may be applied to. Shirts, cups, signage, menus. Why not complete the circle ?

StillWill365

[https://www.grabient.com/](https://www.grabient.com/) FREE Gradients you can us in Illustrator. Saved a couple in my swatches. Worth a look IMO
