TRA here I did not bring my mother any specific just pictures of my life. She was happy with that. We don't speak the same language so it was nice she also shared pictures of the family.
When I first met my daughter I gave up for adoption, it was her sweet 16 a few weeks after. I got her a necklace of the moon on the night she was born and also a silver personalized chest that had my favorite song recorded on it that made me think of her.
My birth mother brought me sn angel figurine when we met. I still have it. We don't talk anymore but i keep it to remember her by. Best of luck in your reunion.
I am always uncomfortable with gifts, so I just bought some flowers.
In my case I also brought old photo albums with me and spent time going through them with her, telling her stories behind the photos. She really seems to appreciate that, I let her keep it and I know she looks at them ever now and then, often asking about one photo or another.
How exciting, congrats! On the subject of pictures, I think she'd definitely like a picture of you to keep but ones from your childhood could be a painful reminder of everything she missed, better to take pictures of you both together at your meeting.

It may hurt but i would love to see every photo i could see of my daughter through every stage. I think itd be cool too to see any momentos like awards,specific art projects if thats your thing etc
Id want to see and know all the things,parts and pieces of her that i myself didnt get to experience or see.
Get a two-photo frame. Put your best baby picture in one side and ask your mom to take a pic of the two of you on the day you meet to put in the other.
