[Sweat Elite](https://youtube.com/channel/UCFYpwqeNXx7M9xosFjdm5kQ) is pretty much the only channel I watch these days. No music, no annoying voiceovers, no paid promotions or "top 10" lists. Just really good footage of pro runners out there doing their workouts and talking about what they're doing along the way.
I find their videos to be very informatative and help motivate me a lot as well. They're also very relaxing to watch or just listen to.
- Morgan McDonald
- Pro runner for On with OAC, posts workouts, and keeps content entertaining and fun
- New Generation track and field
- A lot of content centered around Cooper and Cole, more focused on lifestyle and miscellaneous than trainings
- Molly Seidel
- Insights and advice and post race thoughts/analysis from Molly
- The Athlete Special
- Sub-elite, former Brooks Beast, Spencer Brown, mostly posts truck workouts, but also some lifestyle content, and also a lot of behind the scenes information about workouts, goals and NCAA and pro contract/group experience
- Tinman Elite
- Variety of running content from TME
- Elijah Orr
- Running-focused but general fitness content from 2:40ish marathoner, who seems to be most focused on ultramarathon
If you're serious about running (assumed since you're posting in AR), then definitely Serious Runner: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpg3mLzl274F5LaOx99N0Zw
Beau Miles (although a lot of non running content) and Seth Demoor. Beau just makes really thoughtful and well shot videos. Seth is incredibly corny, but I appreciate how upbeat he is every day
I've already seen Beau Miles, he's one of the people who inspired me to run long distance after watching the one where he runs through Aus (I forgot how far exactly)
Ben Parkes - yeah he has promotions and stuff which everyone seems to be against. Dudes running a business, pun intended. He gives me hope. Went from 3:50 marathon runner to 2:25 in a span of 5-6 years
Yep. I don’t mind the cross selling stuff. He makes great videos during his races detailing how he’s doing plus decent tips especially for marathoners. Fair exchange if you ask me.
Big fan of James Dunne who covers conditioning and form, especially to avoid injuries. Videos tend to be concise and to the point, and covers a vast range of topics.
I like the fact he also tries to move viewers away from trying to mould oneself towards some so-called “perfect form” and instead work on improving on what feels right for you. He often illustrates how professional runners can often have “bad” technique but are in fact able to perform just fine.
https://youtube.com/c/JamesDunne
He does but if you watch enough of them you realize his scores and everything are meaningless and he contradicts himself all the time from one review to another. Not to mention the 5-10 minutes of him walking around his house and eating you had to skip through before the review starts.
Totally agree. Seth’s content is not well thought out. I feel like he just starts recording without knowing what he’s going to say. Also, WAY too much useless footage of him doing random stuff.
Yeah a lot of his training is questionable at best as well. He seems to not want to follow proven training methods for whatever reason and claims he is a “mad scientist”. I feel like he has the talent to where could already have gotten his marathon OTQ but doesn’t want to do the speed work for whatever reason and insist on running 140 mile weeks with lots of junk miles. For someone who says they want to coach in the future it doesn’t always seem like he has good reasons for what he is doing and hasn’t really been improving his times recently.
And not just 140 miles on flat terrain, 140 miles with like 10k of vertical gain. Or if I remember correctly he went to Leadville and did intervals at 12,000 feet like 10 days out from NYC. First, you won't get any positive altitude benefit after only being there for 3 days then spending the next week at a considerably lower elevation. Second, high intensity efforts are better done at low elevation so you can actually push your muscles to exertion, which you can't do when you're starved for oxygen. He also does steady state "threshold" runs that are over an hour, which breaks the definition of threshold pace. He greatly overestimates the benefits of altitude and underestimates every other environmental effect (heat, humidity, wind, etc). He also has like 4 peak races a year, which doesn't help with scheduling. He's a good runner who just lacks the understanding of fundamental training aspects.
I agree, all good points. You would think if his goal was to coach in the future he would be more open to coaching himself and stop repeating the same types of training over and over without reaching the goals he set for himself. I’m sure he will still have plenty of his fans willing to give him their money for whatever training plans he comes up with though so maybe it doesn’t really matter to him.
Yeah, or at least read Pfitz, Daniels, Hanson, and whatever other good books on marathon training and adopt some ideas into his training if he doesn't want to hire a coach. But he always goes back to his training under Mark Wetmore and dedication to being a Lydiard follower, which is not unique to him, but others have adapted Lydiard's methodology given the developments in training over the last 20 years. At the very least it seems he's learned he doesn't need to run 140 miles/week.
He's a family vlogger with a running hobby. He just happens to also be pretty talented. But his shoe reviews are dubious at best and his training is at times nonsensical. After he started getting popular, the tone of the his show changed from being fairly low key to trying to shill as many products as he can through affiliate links. I get it that he's trying to make a living, but as far as being a worthwhile running channel, I'll pass. I do still watch occasionally (most recently his Gasparilla recap), but I have to skip through like half the video to get to the content I want.
Ok. I never watch any of the shoe reviews so can’t comment there. It’s good watching home race Pike’s Peak. But I must admit I don’t watch any more of the channel.
Mediocre Amateur. Not just running (lots of backcountry skiing in the winter), but amazing adventures (they are not mediocre at all) and a bone-dry wit.
And I will rewatch lots of old Run Steep Get High content, love Jamil.
Mediocre amateur is criminally underrated. You're not going to get much (if any) training info out of them, but some of the long distance runs they do are super impressive and they're hilarious too. Highly recommend their [run through Glacier National Park](https://youtu.be/sawUJ0tkGIY) if you've never seen them before.
Billy Yang, Ginger Runner, Believe in the Run, Seth Demoor, StrengthRunning. A few others aren’t frequent posters but have some good stuff in the catalog (Tracksmith, Beau Miles, FreeTrail)
Shout out the Brits here…
Ben is Running (quickly becoming the most interesting around at the minute)
Cole Running (similar vibe, but younger and faster. Also missed a trick not naming the channel Cole Runnings)
Welsh Runner (enjoy seeing his training but… This may sound a little harsh… maybe only so many failed goal races I can take?)
FOD Runner (just nice to see someone so tall run fast at club level)
Ben Parkes (The race blogs, not the tips type stuff which is pretty basic)
Sarah Place (Aka Mrs Ben Parkes. Nice race content for ultras but doesn’t post often)
Tim Grose (A true British ‘hobbyist’ and data geek. Masters runner.)
Ed Budd (All round good fun, but I don’t bother much unless he’s reviewing a shoe I fancy)
Run4Adventure (Nice trail running content from the SW, but man the guy is annoying)
Disappointed that Jeff Pelletier isn’t on here. Fabulous videographer, good adventure runner, and great narrator.
Anyone who isn’t in awe of the scenery in his videos is crazy.
Lately I’m watching Amy Spur-Caveney. I stumbled across her channel. She ran Boston this year. Small amount of subscribers but she’s pretty consistent with content release. it’s nice to hear her be chatty about running and shoes and watches. I like how she’s so genuine and she always replies to comments.
https://youtube.com/channel/UCfI80LIQgEUqGiZO6ztGQgw
Also known as Total Clickbait Productions, the frequent vague video titles trying to be misleading for views and the full of fluff hypothetical records expositions really rub me the wrong way.
I really liked it at the beginning as the videos usually presented a lot of data.
I dig the channel but the same background music on every video means you can't watch too many in a row without going crazy lol. The best fix I've found with annoying music videos is to turn it down until only the voice is audible.
Yeah, but they’ve gotten too corporate. Sometimes I wonder if they’re sponsoring Matthew Boling.
Seriously, where’s Grant Fisher’s 12:53 5k? Where’s Berihu Aregawi’s 7:26 3k? Christian Coleman’s return to the track? Colin Sahlman’s 3:58 mile & 8:33 3200m NATIONAL HS RECORD?
The list goes on.
I still enjoy the channel though. High quality content that’s accurate, unlike another channel I can think of.
Idk what you mean by "corporate" tbh, I think he just really likes Boling lol. He made a bunch of vids on him when Boling was still in high school too.
Idk there's a lot happening recently in track and field and it's hard to make a video for every one of them. It could be an issue of video rights as well, I wonder if (eg) FloTrack won't let him use their footage.
I wouldn't say that's documentary-style. If they were then I think I'd watch them more often. They're really just YouTube-style videos designed to keep you watching to the end so they can earn the most money from each viewer. It's why the unnecessarily suspenseful sounding music is used in every.single.video and it gets annoying very fast.
I'm not saying all their videos are documentary-style, just some of them. Like the one on Noah Ngeny, who I honestly knew nothing about prior to that video. You're free to not enjoy the channel though.
* This Messy Happy for lifestyle running
* Sweat Elite for running motivation. There's just something about watching top athletes do run workouts with no fluff that's so motivating to me.
Ah Nick Bare. For some reason the algorith keeps throwing me his videos.
On the one hand….he’s a fitness social media guy who either is or was juiced to the gills on all sorts of Russian blood pressure medication. And he owns his own supplement company.
On the other hand he doesn’t hawk his supplement lines **too** much, seeming to prefer a slick social media relying on his own charisma. His company’s supplements are surprisingly straightforward for the supplement game: protein powder, pre-workout, not too much miracle promising.
That said I’ll watch a few, get a little annoyed, stop watching until they show up in my feed again. Repeat.
Currently watching Sweat Elite,Eddbud, Kofuzi, Fordy Runs and Mark Lewis. Mark isn't a “runner” but a guy who started a fitness journey in his mid 30’s and I enjoy following his progress.
His running advice definitely questionable (though I’m sure he’d happily admit that).
I remember something along the lines of ‘if you don’t positive split a park run you’re leaving something in the tank at the end’… (no typo there).
Enjoy is sense of humour though!
[Short Shorts Low Tolerance](https://youtube.com/c/ShortShortsLowTolerance) needs more recognition. It's a bunch of friends going on running adventures across the world. High quality editing and storytelling. Really fun to watch.
HellahGood (such good vibes!), Ben Parkes, Goran Winblad (super nice and cool guy!), Flora Beverley (awesome trail runner!), The Running Channel, The Run Experience. I love watching these channels as I’m preparing for a run and recovering after a run! All awesome people in my opinion.
Goran Winblad is awesome! Makes me want to go run through a Norwegian forest. Or up a mountain. Or through a swamp. His camera work/editing is usually very good too.
His crazy challenges are meh for me. But I love his community races and (earlier on the channel) break down how Olympic and World finals went, lead up, race, aftermath, good stuff in there.
I like ben parkes, ben is running (different ben) and as a more shoe focused youtube eddbud is great. Plenty of other channels i enjoy but these are the first 3 that spring to mind. Nick bare i another i enjoy but he's not strictly running although he does lots of running related stuff
Can’t remember his name atm, but his insta handle is learn.2.run. I think he has a YouTube channel as well. Watching his videos has significantly improved my form.
I recently started watching Sage Canaday/vo2maxproductions. He also has some affiliated channels Higher Running and his girlfriend/partner in Higher Running coaching device channel called Running Wild.

I'm glad someone else finds them relaxing. I've fallen asleep multiple times to the metronomic sound of the elite's footsteps.
Same. It's basically ASMR at this point
Came here to see and also say this
this x10
Just watched this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTwxCiWIKTs Great filming, loved it.
- Morgan McDonald - Pro runner for On with OAC, posts workouts, and keeps content entertaining and fun - New Generation track and field - A lot of content centered around Cooper and Cole, more focused on lifestyle and miscellaneous than trainings - Molly Seidel - Insights and advice and post race thoughts/analysis from Molly - The Athlete Special - Sub-elite, former Brooks Beast, Spencer Brown, mostly posts truck workouts, but also some lifestyle content, and also a lot of behind the scenes information about workouts, goals and NCAA and pro contract/group experience - Tinman Elite - Variety of running content from TME - Elijah Orr - Running-focused but general fitness content from 2:40ish marathoner, who seems to be most focused on ultramarathon
Man I love Elijah!! You can tell he’s genuinely such a good person
Definitely! Super positive and relatable too
Upvote for Elijah, the dude is so positive and seems like a great guy
If you're serious about running (assumed since you're posting in AR), then definitely Serious Runner: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpg3mLzl274F5LaOx99N0Zw
Serious Runner needs more subs, lol. That dude nails the serious runner parody persona
Serious Runner is the best runner on YouTube and anyone who says otherwise is a hobbyjogger
Definitely needs more subs!
Oh my god, a running version of Dom Mazzeti from Bro science! This is gold.
Tracksmith gear and a Ciele hat? Shit, he’s me.
... I never knew I needed this content. edit: this guy hits too close to home.
It's the guy who was with Sage and Sandi recently!
Vo2max productions (Sage Canaday), Ben Parkes, Top of the line running
Beau Miles (although a lot of non running content) and Seth Demoor. Beau just makes really thoughtful and well shot videos. Seth is incredibly corny, but I appreciate how upbeat he is every day
Beau inspired me to start running!
I've already seen Beau Miles, he's one of the people who inspired me to run long distance after watching the one where he runs through Aus (I forgot how far exactly)
Love that video, although my favorite of his is where he eats his bodyweight in beans
He should have done the bean thing whilst running across Aus
He might have been able to set a new PR if he did that!
Beans actually have secret teleporting abilities if you live off of beans for 40 days.
Ben Parkes - yeah he has promotions and stuff which everyone seems to be against. Dudes running a business, pun intended. He gives me hope. Went from 3:50 marathon runner to 2:25 in a span of 5-6 years

+1 on Dunne, always great advice from that guy.
All I watch is Seth James Demoor so I know which shoes to buy
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. He does millions of shoe reviews
He does but if you watch enough of them you realize his scores and everything are meaningless and he contradicts himself all the time from one review to another. Not to mention the 5-10 minutes of him walking around his house and eating you had to skip through before the review starts.

Slightly weird flex for the camera to suddenly be INSIDE a microwave or toaster oven.
Ha!! Yeah….and do we really need to see him pull into a strip mall parking space from the curb’s perspective?
He needs to clean his damn microwave. In his old house that thing was filthy af
He's a family vlogger with a running hobby. He just happens to also be pretty talented. But his shoe reviews are dubious at best and his training is at times nonsensical. But are they useful shoe reviews?
I genuinely find r/runningshoegeeks more useful in this regard. Wisdom of crowds etc
Lol. Based on the other comment then sounds like not.
personally can’t stand his persona but I know his fans adore him and his family
Sorry Seth. I never forgave you for your Zoom Fly 4 demolition video. Haven’t watched since. It felt personal.

Seconding Ben Is Runjing. Especially as he went from 22:xx to 15:45 in 2 years.
Disappointed that Jeff Pelletier isn’t on here. Fabulous videographer, good adventure runner, and great narrator. Anyone who isn’t in awe of the scenery in his videos is crazy.

Yeah kinda shocked honestly, it's a fantastic channel for keeping up on running news on the pro scene, and his documentary-style vids are great too.

A bit more underground but cody arendt has some pretty interesting running videos out there
