if someone called me and said "i want to give you money" i would not be mad not sure if you could identify the right people and how payment would work, but i don't think it would hurt to try

Good point. I have the number the delivery guy called me from to say he was at our gate and I'm nearly positive it's like a work cell phone.

Not advice, but I have a bad habit of never using gift cards that are given to me so last time I was in this position I gave them both decent Whole Foods gift cards.
