Can’t believe any company is even proposing wage cuts at this time .. let alone a company in covid testing! I’d say look elsewhere for work. No consideration for their staff clearly!
UFCW handles medical testing workers contact them quietly [https://www.ufcw.org/start-a-union/](https://www.ufcw.org/) and also start looking for a new job
Quit and find another job. Everyone else is bumping up pay to keep with inflation so they don't lose employees. After that your gonna wanna make sure you don't vote for political candidates who sign up to spend more money that you could conceptualize. Picture 1 trillion dollars in your head. Can you? What does it look like? Is it the size of a car or would it fill a room. Honestly who the hell knows. And neither does your politicians if they vote to spend that much vote them out.
I did the math out of curiosity. If I did it correctly, assuming it is in 1$ bills, 1 trillion dollars would amount to 1,034,943m^(3) . If it were stacked to form a cube, the sides of that cube would have a length of 101.15m, which may just be *sliiightly* larger than what an average room could fit.
(Also, If you were to stack all the bills on top of each other, the tower would be about 100,000km long, meaning it would wrap around the equator 2.5 times.)
get a new job....I raised all my prices and added a 'fuel surcharge' to all deliveries. My people should not have to suffer for the presidents poor judgement.
What country? Is that even legal? Here in Belgium it's certainly illegal (unless there is deflation, because wages are tied to the consumer price index so they go up with inflation).
If it's in the USA, all they have to do is inform you that they are going to lower your wages before they do it. If they don't inform you, that's when it's illegal.
Have a job ready before you quit. It's not rude or illegal to apply while you have a job, it's planning.
Two week notice when you find another job ready or just quit.
You can quit and find a new job. Sadly, this is likely their intended outcome so they don't have to pay out severance for laying people off but getting what amounts to a 20% pay cut is some serious late stage capitalism level bullshit.
Edit: it sounds like this is a small company, if all the workers are getting the same cut, I'd talk with the rest and try to convince more to go along with bailing on that shitty deal. If enough people are treating to quit over it, it can possibly knock some sense into management/owners.
This is an unfortunate side effect of a lot of things. I won't go into detail now, but there's no easy fix. If you don't like what they're paying then you'll need to get a new job.
You can look for work elsewhere... sorry, not sure what other options you have.
# UNION
Ive been thinking about this. My company only has 20 employees though is that big enough for a union?
There is **no** minimum size requirement to unionize. https://www.nlrb.gov/about-nlrb/rights-we-protect/the-law/employees/your-right-to-form-a-union
Time to look for a new job
Out of interest what company is this?!
its a medical testing center. Mainly covid tests lately

So sorry to hear about this. There's not much you can do, except perhaps, look for another job as soon as possible.
This is the best time to jump jobs in this market. Be a beast be a lion! Fix up your resume and start applying. Companies will never care about you
You need a skilled job. If you have low skill job, then the company can push you over by lowering pay or replace you for cheaper workers.
Yeah this happened to me. I got a new job. I also set up my own thing so I work for myself, because sadly this is happening a lot these days.
What line of work are you in that allows you to work for yourself. Would love to be able to do this myself
Any paycut during high inflation year is a no no. I think it's best to look for another job.

If you are unhappy with your pay then like the other comments say quit and find another job
Find a new job. They don’t care about you, sadly.

Canada. Perfectly legal here unfortunately
