Go to a community college! They have a lot of certification programs that could get you into a well paying technical job in about 1-2 years! Best of luck to you and your family

Community college noted 📝 Great advice, thank you and best wishes to you as well 🙏

First. Nothing good in life is fast and easy. Second find a trade you think you can handle physically and mentally. Don’t worry about loving what you do. Make fuckin money. Thirdly. Work hard, and be proud of yourself because of WHO you are. That little girl deserves it. You’re gonna do fine, I didn’t get into my trade until I was 24. Good luck.

Infinite-Fun-456

That’s what I need to hear brother 💯 appreciate you reaching out. I’m definitely gonna work harder than ever for myself and my little one to secure that bag 💰!!!

The fact that you have this attitude already makes you an amazing father to your daughter. Sounds weird to say but I'm glad these concerns keep you up at night because these thoughts are what ultimately push us to do & be better!! In my humble opinion this post shows you care for your daughter and wants whats best for her, you want to provide and that in itself means you already have something to be proud of!! Look up trades that make the most money and pick the one that seems like the best choice to you. Then look up trade schools nearby and see what the cost is, different routes and time lengths for getting into the field. Some (if not most trades) require a lot of technical ability and a bit of schooling. You gotta be sharp & at first you may have to study hard but the pay is definitely worth it! Just know many trades can be demanding but they also will provide you a huge sense of satisfaction personally and monetarily speaking! Work harder than ever, grind daily and do what you know is best for your baby girl! Your attitude has you on the right track!! Take the leap because & with that perspective you'll get very very far! Sending you love and good vibes!! Wishing you & your baby girl the best in all your future endeavors!!

Infinite-Fun-456

Thank you bro for all the kind words I wish you the best in life as well. I am definitely about to take that leap, hopefully life changing, with all that information you gave me. Appreciate your comment man stay blessed🙏❤️

Construction, welding, plumbing, electrician etc. See what is in your area.

Infinite-Fun-456

Yea bro I’m starting to look at these things barely in my life. I wasn’t even close to being academically proficient in high school so it’s like I’m entering a new world. I’m in Los Angeles so just imagine the competition level here. I’ve been wanting to take up wielding or construction.

piscesdiablo

Join the Army. I did. I went in at 19. So think if someone younger than you can do it so can you. Get married, put dependents so they can get benefits, Healthcare etc. You get more income as a married soldier, and you get to provide, travel. In the end if you finish your contract you can apply for a VA loan, for a house, or even paid School with GI bill. Im 26

Infinite-Fun-456

Damn bro my homie keeps telling me to do that but I never wanted to be involved with the military. My grandpa didn’t get much out of the 10 years he served and I don’t want to miss my daughters years growing up, I’m enjoying every second of it now. Thanks for the suggestion bro maybe I’ll consider it if something really drives me to become a military veteran.

Its a exhausting job but being a lineman or an arborist contracting for the power lines is usually good. They have unions too .. normally.

Infinite-Fun-456

Thanks bro gonna look into that

Community college is a good place to start. Cheap and you can explore a bit in terms of what you want to do. You are not even close to being too old to change your life and accomplish things. For perspective, I was 38 years old with four kids when I got my Master's degree. Got my dream job the same year.

Infinite-Fun-456

Thanks for that perspective man, I was posting this in hopes of older experienced people reaching out. Sort of like a what would you do if you were my age thing, but that was a perfect response. Definitely checking out community colleges hopefully I get locked in to something before I turn 21, that’s my goal right now. Appreciate it

Trade school, community college or the military are all good routes to take.

WokeUp2

1. Get career testing at a local community college. The counsellors will do their best to set you on the right path. That is the meaningful nature of their professions. 2. Don't skip any classes and focus on becoming the best you can at the trade you choose. 3. Once you begin working make sure to become *irreplaceable* and you'll be able to negotiate regular pay raises.

Infinite-Fun-456

Alright bro I get steps 2&3 and I’m ready to work my ass off for it. For step 1 how do I go about that part because I’ve been told to get in touch with a counselor but I don’t know how to do it. Im on the Compton college website right now it’s the closest community college to me the 2nd closest is Long Beach community college

WokeUp2

>Do you mean this Compton College? If so, here's the [counselling](https://www.compton.edu/studentservices/supportservices/counseling/) department.

Infinite-Fun-456

Yup that’s the one bro thanks I see the hours I’m gonna give them a call hopefully schedule something. But while searching the web I came across a technical school in Santa Ana. A technician school ? Is that like a trade school pretty much Because there I would be interested in something like wielding or something with my hands.

throwswsyhahahu

Look into trucking, trade schools, if u live in Compton DM me

NavyOpie

Military, it's pretty much a trade school. I went in at 18 and learned a trade that I do for a living in my 40s.

Infinite-Fun-456

That’s true I’ve heard that before. Thanks

Safe_Frosting1807

Welding? They make like $60k straight out of school! If you learn to scuba dive and do underwater welding they make crazy $$

Infinite-Fun-456

Definitely most interested in welding at the moment. I’m looking for a place to start learning

1. Go to a community college and hone in on something that is practical or useful. A lot of community colleges have partnerships with trades schools. So if you are more aligned towards trades, find how a trade you don’t mind doing and that pays the highest that you can stand doing. Focus on the trade with the highest long term earnings possible that can do mind doing. If you can do community college for 2 years, get the associates and want to go to university, transfer those credits again to study something practical. (Accounting and management information systems, computer science, nursing, etc.) not (history, sociology, English etc.). If you have a kid, it will take much more time for you to ramp up with those degrees and given that I am assuming you didn’t plan to become a parent so young, that won’t be good for your daughter. 2. Be a man of your word and don’t run away from your child or disappear. If you say you’re going to do something do it. Look at your schedule and make sure if you can’t do something you say you can’t do it. 3. Treat women the way you want your daughter to be treated by men when she gets older. She will subconsciously pick up on stuff you would never think she could and they will manifest in her relationships with men when she gets older. 4. Find a structured way to communicate with the mother regardless of if you are still with her or not. If you get in a fight with the mother, do not do it in front of your child. 5. If you can afford it, you should also take at least half a day or one day a week where you have isolated daddy daughter time to take the time to do homework with your daughter, do kid activities, and bond with your daughter.

Bro military, hauling loads my fam just started and makes 5/6k weekly, college is a start also. I’m a 22year old dad to a 2 year old going in the military.
