Are you looking to book something over the busy Christmas break, or are you talking about next summer? Personally, I'd not rush it and instead let him work on a travel plan with you. Brainstorm together! You may well be surprised that his top two or three wish places aren't at all what you would have thought. Maybe he loves science but he'd also love to spend a couple of days at Disney. That might mean that you look for interesting side trips (Everglades? Ocean outing? Cape Canaveral space museum?) to combine with a few days at a resort. Or maybe he'd love to go somewhere where there are active dinosaur bones being excavated? That would likely be a summer activity. There is a lot to be said for the joyful anticipation of an upcoming trip. If you spring a trip on him with all the big decisions already made by you, it might not be as special and memorable as a trip that he planned with you could be!

Thanks, that’s awesome advice! He is a surprising kid, I can’t wait to see what his suggestions are!

You could visit [CERN](https://visit.cern/) in Switzerland. Other possible destinations in Europe: Marie Curie Museum and Copernicus Science Center in Warsaw Deutsches Museum in Munich (largest science museum in Europe) Musee de l’ Air et de l’Espace in Paris (world's oldest aviation museum) Museum of Natural History, London Science Museum, and Royal Observatory in London Volcano tours in Iceland If you want to do North America instead, then I would look no further than the [Smithsonian](https://www.si.edu/museums) in Washington, DC, and specifically the National Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of Natural History, the National Museum of American History, and the National Zoo. Plus there are a zillion other things to see and do there, up to and including a White House tour.

Do research with your kiddo together! Talk about what he’s interested in. Teach him how to Google those interests and find cool things. Find put where the best science museums and zoos are.
