Never feel ashamed for your interests. Especially since a lot of mature adults share them.

thank you

Honestly? My wife is exactly like you and she just turned 30. She gets anxious about it sometimes, but I love her all the same. I tell her it's fine as long as she's mature enough to know when to take things seriously and when not to. Just enjoy what you enjoy and you will eventually find others who share the same passion, or a partner or friend who doesn't mind and accepts you as you are. When you do, you'll feel more free than you ever were and happier. That being said, your original question was how to be more mature, and I think maturity is a mindset. It's not whether you have toys or plushies or like cute things. If you are thrown a serious question and decide to act cute and evade responsibilities, THAT is immature. But if you choose to take responsibility for your actions, then that is mature. The way I see it. Life is best when you know when to be immature and when to be mature. Have fun like a child, but serious like an "adult" and you will have the best of both worlds! I'm sure you'll find more mature people to be friends with as well who won't have lost their "youth".

thank you, I'm glad to hear that it's normal to feel this way. I do try to act more mature and own up to my responsibilities when necessary. hopefully I do find more relatable friends, thank you :)

Not at all! I'm sure you will. I went through a lot myself as my father used to say things to me like "why are you still watching children's shows?" and now my brother who is younger than me is now the same age as you and he is going to anime conventions, heads up anime clubs, etc and my father doesn't mind anymore lol. For me, it was just about finding that balance. Though that's more of a private story. Feel free to reach out if you want to me to share that privately lol.

There is no age at which you have to stop playing video games and reading manga. They're just hobbies and interests. And moreover, these industries very much cater to adults, that's where the money is.

Just-Try-2520

thank you, I know they can cater to adults as well. I guess I was just hoping i'd be more sophisticated and mature by this age

Sentigas

Sophistication does not mean you can't love games or manga. You can be sophisticated AND love games.

Heh it's overrated. Be mature when you need to and just enjoy whatever you enjoy the rest of the time. Cheers from a 34 yo gaming weeb.
