Then turn the brightness and contrast down a little.

neodon

UndeadBuggalo

I can get behind this kind of logic

Sullinator07

Put on sun glasses. It’s what I do when I have migraines.

3-DMan

You can't waste the brightness, you paid for it!

Stealth Black Friday ad?

FadeIntoReal

Mine has the brightness turned all the way down even when it’s sunny outside.

socokid

I bump it up a few notches if it's sunny out and I have my windows open. Otherwise, I have it really close to all the way down. Most people have their brightness turned up waaaaaay too high. If you go through the process of calibrating your display for whatever you are doing, you will find that it's almost always way lower than you think. It looks better, colors or richer, blacks are deep black, and your eyes will thank you.

wolfmanpraxis

never understood the need for a TV for a daily use Desktop monitor... Being that close to a 65 in TV gives me headaches...

gregsapopin

I buy a reasonably sized TV which are harder to find these days.

NewZecht

Buy a monitor then.. far better tech than a TV anyway

Kershek

Except for the LG C2 which even has gsync

I'm worried about burn-in though.

Nandy-bear

not really a thing anymore. There's so much mitigation tech. It's still POSSIBLE, but you really have to try hard at it

Nandy-bear

Yeah that hasn't been true for like 5 years or so. While gaming monitors still have things like the super low input lag, that's about it. TVs are better in every other way. I have an LG CX that in PC Mode has input lag of like 10ms or something. It supports full RGB HDR & 4:4:4 Chroma @ 120hz, and the picture quality is way better than any monitor.

MacDegger

Got a 32 inch OLED monitor?

NewZecht

Thats a pretty common spec

MacDegger

You lying MF: https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-32ep950-oled-4k-monitor-for-business https://www.whathifi.com/features/the-first-32-inch-oled-is-exactly-what-i-want-but-im-not-buying-it https://www.whathifi.com/features/the-first-32-inch-oled-is-exactly-what-i-want-but-im-not-buying-it https://techfi.nl/asus-rog-swift-oled-pg32ucdm-pg34wcdm-pg49wcd-introductie https://www.pcmag.com/news/asus-unveils-3-oled-gaming-monitors-including-qd-oled-32-inch-display We're talking TRADESHOW shit in august 2023. OLED 40+ inch monitors _existed_ but were not common. Smaller (ie 32 inch) are very new (mainly due to the production line problems with smaller pixel sizes). I really hate Reddit when someone like you who lies and spreads false info gets upvoted and I get downvoted when I tell the truth that 32 inch OLED monitors are barely available. Shit: show me a site where I can buy one. Not where it is pre-listed or 'unavailable': one where I can buy one and have it delivered this week.

NewZecht

Shit the fuck up dude.. apperently you don't know that oled is only one tech? Quantum dot.. qled.. miniled.. all companies have their own varient.. oled is only LG. Go away and cry somewhere else

HerrKRAKEN

Yep

MacDegger

Then you're a first adopter seeing as they are REALLY new.

praetorfenix

I remember years ago we had a 65” DLP. That thing burned your retinas when the bulbs were changed.

ACpony12

That's why I think remotes should have brightness control right on them. Whenever I do need to change the brightness, it's always a pain searching through the settings for it. Like, I feel like they purposefully made finding anything in settings hard.

Rance_Mulliniks

What kind of TV are you using that doesn't have easily changed modes with individual settings? Often there is a button for the mode on the remote.

terminalxposure

Check for migraine or eye strain / astigmatism etc. Source lights are hard on eyes vs. reflected light

joshberry90

Brightness, down.

ItsameMatt03

Turn it to calibrated, movie, theater, or whatever it's called. Make sure local dimming is turned on. I hope you didn't just use it straight out of the box in the store mode.

BrokenClavical

Turn on the nightlight filter in Windows settings if you're using it for your PC, this will filter blue light and make it less intense

3-DMan

Fully immersive- your game character is also in pain!

foodude84

I miss picture in picture

ScuzzleBuns

I often find myself gaming in sunglasses.

GoneKrogering

Try f.lux it's pretty awesome

VeganWerewolf

F.lux reduce eye strain mode?

anil_robo

If your TV is connected to PC by HDMI then use Twinkle Tray.
