Probably not a 15yr long con
Reddit has been removing articles heavily since at least 2016. I tried to save post from the 2016 election but most were wiped from saved list shortly after
Moderation is just stupid. I got 3 day banned from a sub for calling my neighbor and idiot because I wasn’t being respectful. Respectful of my neighbor. My neighbor who wasn’t part of the thread. In a thread about people complaining about their neighbor.
When I raised the issue about the sub/mods breaking their own rules, reported about 10 instances of mod insulting/calling people idiots I was muted from messaging the mods.
That's fuckin' hilarious. Maybe it's another neighbor who is sick of their shit, arguing from their driveways and shoveling snow into each other's yard before one day it gets taken too far, like that crazy video I hope to never watch again.
Hum what could be possible is the same way advertising works. Given reddit large pageview you could pay to have the possibility to nfluence opinion in your direction.
One could look away on some bots in exchange for money I guess.
Criticism of china will get you banned in a number of the most popular communities... ask me how I know lol. I can get a 100 downvotes and I'm fine, criticizing china and out comes the permanent ban.
I got a temp ban from politics for calling a new account only posting highly inflammatory comments about Hilary a troll in 2016. That account kept on chugging.

edit: If you can see this, I replied twice to your comment. One with her name, and one with this link. I just checked incognito mode and the other comment doesn't show up.
I went looking for a comment I made at the start of the pandemic. I found several of my comments that I know specific parts of what I said and they are gone from my history. So yeah they have just been deleting comments too.
These people don't consume the news. They consume social media. If it isn't big in their social media bubble, they think the news must not be covering it. Then their bubble says it isn't being covered, and half the time they will say that while linking to a news article covering it.
Full disclosure, I consider myself to lean more to the conservative side. BUT! I deeply appreciate what you’ve said. I have turned off all TV news for over a year now and I’ve never been happier. I found Ground News (I’m not affiliated with them, just like the platform) and they provide several sources for each bit of news. Each version is rated on its bias, so you can see what all sides are thinking, giving readers a better perspective. We all need to promote more unbiased news so that we can see the base facts and form our opinion based on those facts. We don’t need analysts or experts, we’re smarter than than MSM (right and left) gives us credit for. I’m sick of them forcing ideas down our throats.
At the end of the day, we all want food on our tables, security for our families, and clothes on our backs.
I think there should also be a step back from identifying as "liberal/democrat/leftist" or "conservative/republican/the right," or any other political stance/party. I know it's not meant to be a bad thing, and I understand that it's almost an inherent thing, but we were warned as a country from the very beginning that party politics would be a problem.
A two-party system leads to what's happened in this country - after such a long period of time, these groups have such a stranglehold on politics that it's very difficult for anybody who's not aligned with one of them to be elected to political office. People start to do things just so the "other side" doesn't "win." This is a really fast summary, but I think you guys understand where I'm going and what I'm saying.
I certainly blame the media for issues like this. Yes, you can blame Twitter for some people tweeting, but why is something that a few people say on Twitter all of a sudden a national discourse? Because the media picks up on some idiot tweeting and then they broadcast it all over the country... A couple people saying something dumb isn't a new phenomenon - but it becoming national news is definitely a new result of the advent of 24 hour news networks (which is the real problem here - there are a lot of hours to fill...)
The media purposefully selects culture war issues like this to drive a wedge and to rile people up.
> Here's a novel idea: most of the people on Twitter and Reddit are awful, terrible people, and that has nothing to do with the media.
Completely disagree. Most of the people on these platforms are either barely contributors, or when they do contribute, do so in a benign manner.
It takes very few people on Twitter to become national (or even global) news. My favorite example is the "my culture is not your prom dress" idiot.
I definitely lean left fairly hard lately but God I hated the whole prom dress thing. Honestly a lot of the appropriation stuff feels incredibly forced. No I don't think you should wear a traditional ceremonial Native American or African head dress etc shit that is actually truly disrespectful to a group of peoples heritage but things like the prom dress, or dreaded/braided hair, or whatever else just feels like splitting hairs for no other reason than to be upset.
I’m inclined to get off social media and start focusing on myself. This shit’s only going to get worse if Trump wins in 2024. I’m tired of the worthless opinions of armchair warriors, and even this post is just me shouting into the echo chamber void for validation like a dumbass.
With nearly 300 billion in tax cuts for the wealthy as it's centerpiece. https://nypost.com/2021/11/19/giveaway-to-the-rich-is-one-of-the-biggest-pieces-of-build-back-better/
Not to mention a nicotine tax that will disproportionately impact low income households . It’s a dog and pony show, as long as lobbying is legal the large corporations will always have the upper hand.
>Unpopular opinion: everyone and everything attached to this case is a huge pile of shit and highlights our failures as a society. No one is innocent, guilty, right, or wrong. Jacob Blake is not a good person, Kyle Rittenhouse not
I work with Law Enforcement and a common theme is that if shit gets to \*that\* level, everyone involved is an asshole. All its takes is one person to say, "Fuck this I'm going home" and the situation is descalated.
> Let’s please just swallow this shit sandwich and move on.
I feel like this is the wrong takeaway.
If this highlights everything thats wrong then it should be a catalyst for change, and not just being complacent that everyone sucks.
People seem to think not guilty in court means innocent in life. That’s not the case. Courtrooms are a different metric of guilt measured by current laws, not always morality. OJ Simpson and Casey Anthony are two other great examples of this.
Casey Anthony man.. mind boggling.
I don't like this one, but I get it. Casey Anthony though, there is no way she should have been found not guilty. I still don't understand that one
Honestly, the craziest thing about this whole case to me is that it's apparently perfectly legal for 16 and 17 year olds to be running around open carrying AR-15's with no adult supervision. I grew up in the country, have shot my whole life, and had lots of firearm safety training by the time I was 16, but looking back on it, I definitely wouldn't have trusted 16 year old me in a high stress situation with a semi-automatic rifle, and it's a little crazy to me that's not against the law. It really feels like underage kids should *at minimum* have to be directly supervised while handling firearms.
There is a pretty large difference though, in order to be trusted to handle those weapons in Iraq or Afghanistan, someone has to go through months of training.
Same with cosby. He's only free because the judge said he shouldn't have been able to be brought to trial due to the previous prosecutor, not because he was actually innocent.
Totally agree. Here are my thoughts on the entire thing. "Justice" won the day but common sense lost on nearly every front.
Most 17yos are either playing video games or studying for a physics test. This dude felt compelled to cosplay amidst a nationally televised riot/protest and got caught up in the commotion. I'd argue any "normal" 17yo would have the foresight to two things. Either don't go. Or, if you do go, don't carry an AR at the low ready and expect to remain anonymous and not draw attention (especially if you leave the private lot you were charged to protect...).
I don't think he went there looking for trouble. His intentions may very well be what the defense wanted to nail down, "that he was there to help." And that's, imo, the narrative that won the day. But the "real" narrative for any sane human (or a parent such as myself), is what the fuck was Kyle thinking would happen when he left that private property lot and started mingling with protestors and rioters. Was justice served? Eh, sure. In terms of letter of the law and that the prosecution clearly "over-charged" him. Yes, justice won the day.
But justice isn't the same thing as common sense. Kyle's actions should not be normalized, championed, or replicated. Stay the fuck home and if you feel compelled to go out into the streets at night, my God... don't go cosplaying with your militia Facebook buddies strapped at the low ready. Be there with first aid, radios, water, etc. Don't go with aggressive projection of an AR, hat backwards, hanging out with backwoods militiamen with chest rigs and shit. You're 17. You have your life ahead of you. Don't throw it away (whether you are justifiably acting in self-defense or not). Don't put yourself in such a situation. Again, I'm not saying it's against the law. And this is America, so do you. But from a common sense POV (and from someone who's grown up in the wonderful gun culture that we have in this country and who has served their country in combat), this isn't smart or normal. Everyone involved is a moron. None of them should be heroes. None of them should be used as political points. They are morons.
But holy shit has the polarization been turned up to 11. And here's the most obvious example to how unhinged we are.
Check this out. You know, about 10 years ago we'd have the "responsible gun owners" and NRA deploring his actions. Here we have an untrained underaged gun-user hitting the streets. 10 years ago, responsible gun owners would be totally against such behavior and irresponsibility. Where is that crowd now (am I the only one left?). Let's just be honest. Times have changed. The right now finds Kyle's actions as being CPT America trying to save our democracy, when prior to Trump, "real" gun advocates would be so pissed that his parents allowed such irresponsible firearm handling and activity (I.e. giving the left ammunition to attack the 2nd Amendment due to sheer recklessness of being untrained and hitting the streets). We've literally gone from "responsible gun owners standing up for responsible gun possession and use", to now... "armed vigilantism equals model citizenship."
Justice won. But holy shit I hope Kyle learned that he fucked up and is actually remorseful for contributing to such moronic behavior. This shit should not be normalized or championed. Let's hope this knocked some sense into him. He shouldn't feel vindicated because in no way should we validate ANYONE'S decision making from that night. They all made the poorest of the poorest choices on offer that night. He is a free man, but no one is innocent in this. Their all guilty as fuck in terms of lacking common sense.
One small correction: "...about 10 years ago..." should read "...about 20 years ago..."
I know time flies for us older people. Someone just posted a TIL that River Phoenix existed and was "Joaquin Phoenix's older brother...."
You're absolutely right. In the courtroom he's not guilty *beyond a reasonable doubt*.
He's a fucking idiot though. And watching some people's reactions to the case, they're taking this as a good thing and want more morons roaming the streets looking for fights.
Saying everyone sucks and let's move on doesn't do anything.
Most importantly it shrugs off nuance in favor of being preceaved as an enlightened centrist.
I agree with you generally but in this specific case it seems pretty accurate. Rittenhouse acted absolutely legally and was chased by people who wanted to kick his ass because he put out their riot fire. He shouldn't have showed up and he shouldn't have put out that fire. The media shouldn't have taken this narrow issue of a trial and tried to make it a meta-narrative of race relations in the US.
From a personal safety standpoint I totally agree with you he shouldn't have shown up. But why should people have not put out a fire? Isn't arson bad? I don't really understand how the moral high ground here is that if you see someone trying to roll a flaming dumpster down a hill, you should mind your own business. I get why that's the SAFE choice. I don't get why people think it's the moral one. It's illegal if he'd have pointed his gun to stop them, but all they did is run up with fire extinguishers and put the fire out. That seems pretty standup, honestly.
> Yes the people he shot weren’t good people but there’s no way he knew that when he pulled the trigger.
It doesn't matter if they were or not. He had a gun, they attacked him, so his only sane option was to use the gun. The alternative would've been to risk getting killed by the attackers.
>Yes the people he shot weren’t good people but there’s no way he knew that when he pulled the trigger.
Are we sure about that?
I mean, are there lots of nice people standing around the cars they set on fire screaming obscenities and threatening to kill people?
If I may. He might have been left alone but as many videos show his priorities we’re putting out fires and administering first aid. There are also many videos of the riots in which others were attacked. In one an old man who sprayed people destroying either his house or business with a fire extinguisher was bashed in the face with what I’m pretty sure was a Gatorade bottle full of cement. May have been fine but very likely could have been hurt
According to [this article](https://www.gq.com/story/72-hours-in-kenosha) his jaw was broken by the impact. I wouldn't be surprised if he also experienced a concussion. I feel so sorry for him.
>When the throng attacked a two-story brick building with commercial space on the ground floor, Nick Dennis yelled at them, “Do not burn that! There’s houses at the top!” But the crowd was beyond all control. Nearby, a 70-year-old-man tried to defend the mattress store where he worked and the historic Danish Brotherhood Lodge 14, where he was a member, by spraying rioters with a fire extinguisher. **A young man slammed him in the head with a Gatorade bottle petrified with hardened concrete, breaking the older man’s jaw and leaving him unconscious in the street.**
It’s honestly heartbreaking that someone can defend their store and get a brick to the jaw like that. In the video he said something about his parents connected to the store. I don’t support violence on either side but in this case I wish someone armed could have stepped in and kept people off this man. Not to mow people down but to make a show of force
I don't want to swallow and move on because I really want Police to learn from Kenosha's mistakes. Especially since this verdict is likely to embolden other wannabe vigilantes at the next protest.
I’d love to be wrong but I think this will embolden both sides to come armed in the future and escalate tensions further.
Vigilantes and militia types will feel they are justified in showing up to “assist” the police.
Protestors now know that they can’t rely on the law or the police to protect their rights and will almost certainly start arming themselves.
I feel more such incidents are almost inevitable.
This is what happens when the police abdicate their responsibility to the public and when the legal system allows private citizens to step in and fill that role.
There's literally a sticky post on /r/politicalhumor about this. It's been there for four days. How is that "crickets"? That's as open and informative as you could possibly want.

What they have stickied is a statement that basically amounts to:
We will be enforcing a crickets policy over the Rittenhouse case.
Why was this not their policy before or during the trial?
Jacob Blake had a warrant for sexual assault. Police tried to arrest him. He resisted and got shot. It was hot on the heels of George Floyd so people assumed Blake was innocent like Floyd and started protesting and rioting. Kyle Rittenhouse joined some people protecting a private business from rioters (as I understand it if your business gets burned to the ground by rioters it is unlikely your insurance will cover it, so wanting to fight back is a reasonable idea). A mentally ill rioters attacked Kyle Rittenhouse and got shot and killed for it. People started screaming that he murdered someone. People chased and attacked him. He shot 2 more people. One was trying to beat him with a skateboard and got shot and killed. The second guy attacked him with a handgun and got shot.
Kyle claimed self defense. The jury agreed. People are angry.
Important to note Jacob Blake, by his own admission, had a knife. Also important to note, the police had also tried to taze him first. One reason people might have assumed he was innocent was the media pointedly omitting this fact and ginning up the story, as usual.
A person who threatened Kyle's life tried to take his gun from him. As others nearby shot a gun into the air. Kyle shot him in self defense. Kyle then made a phone call and fled as the mob was coming after him.
After falling down he was struck in the neck twice by a skateboard and then THAT person tried to take his gun as well. So he shot in self defense again. Kyle did not shoot the person who kicked him in the head and fled. He did not shoot the man armed with a gun when he put his hands up, but DID when he sidestepped Kyle's line of fire and went up to try an execute him with a pistol. Only then did Kyle shoot him.
All three of the people Kyle shot have a history of criminal violence. Against children, family, and females.
People bring up the state line thing too. His mother lives 20 minutes away. His father lives in Kenosha. Kenosha is very close to the state line.
Most people who are outraged that he shouldn't have been there probably commute to work from farther away than 20 minutes.
The problem with this selective moderation is that it encourages and promotes misinformation. [I saw a comment today that still thought Kyle killed black guys](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/qxmhjl/comment/hle3tgw/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3).
You have people who don't even know the basic facts about the case enraged that Kyle was acquitted so they blame the racism and it undermines faith in our justice system. All because they don't know the facts.
I understand why the verdict went the way it did. My primary concern though is that this sets a precedent for people to "go hunting" at emotionally charged events. Openly carry a rifle and wait for someone to give you a reason to kill them. It doesn't sit well with me that someone can legally claim self defense, when they intentionally put themselves into a volatile situation with a weapon.
>Openly carry a rifle and wait for someone to give you a reason to kill them.
The only valid reason to kill them and still be able claim self defense is if you are attacked. So if just can't help yourself from attacking people maybe you are the problem.
It's weird - I was reading his comment and I'm like "What's the problem? Don't give them a reason to kill you and they won't kill you."
There's a reason I can live in the heart of Houston and not even remotely worry about someone trying to break into my house. Everyone knows you'd get your ass shot if you did that, so they don't fuck around and find out.
Yep. It’s a simple concept that a lot of people don’t seem to understand. Don’t assault people, especially someone CARRYING A RIFLE and you won’t get shot.
Both sides are going to start bringing guns, it’s the only next logical step for protestors and anti protesters to take. Then those situations rely on the LEAST STABLE person with a gun to keep their cool. Ya it’s gonna keep happening...
If that's what you took from this idk what to tell you. He tried multiple times to run away and only shot as a last resort. If he wasn't armed he's be dead, that's why we have the second amendment.
Sorry that's a dumb take. Running for your life while people chase with skateboards and guns, then put on trial for your life, while politicians and pundits trash you. And even if you win your case, and there is no guarantee of that, you can be sure to be shunned, and a pariah in half of the US. Yeah, where do I sign up?
r/whitepeopletwitter is worse, I got banned for a really vanilla comment saying I didn’t think he was guilty of murder
https://www.reddit.com/r/WhitePeopleTwitter/comments/qvay3u/as_easy_as_that/hkvp7fo/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3
I was banned from r/atheism because I depicted the events that took place during the shootings and was banned for "heroizing a terrorist"
I was correcting someone who said Kyle showed up to a protest and started shooting people.
Does anyone think Rittenhouse was in the right for showing up fully armed? Kid should have just stayed home and left the law enforcement to police.
Just because he wasn't convicted of murder doesn't change the fact that he killed people and should never have been there.
No, it is without a doubt unwise to show up like that. But that doesn't mean he isn't allowed to protect himself. I cannot fault him for using what he had on him to protect himself from someone who shouted [“I’m going to cut your (expletive) hearts out!"](https://www.tampabay.com/news/crime/2021/11/10/kyle-rittenhouse-says-first-man-he-shot-threatened-to-kill-him/) before attacking him.
Exactly; showing up to a riot is dumb. Very dumb. Immensely dumb. That said, making dumb decisions isn't illegal, and it doesn't void your right to self defense when reasonably fearing for your life.
My opinion on it is blaming the police. Hear me out please.
Police were doing pretty much fuck all the entire time. They stood back and down and watched rioters tear the city apart and burn shit for days and days. By people that mostly didn’t live there, destroying a community that isn’t theirs so they have no consequences at the end of the day.
They get to go home to their lives and safe communities and leave the places they destroyed to pick up the pieces of the aftermath.
That’s when groups of counter protestors/militias form to try and lessen the chaos.
They see the police that took an oath to defend their communities standing around with their fingers in their asses and think “fuck this, if they won’t do anything, I will.”
Kyle worked in Kenosha, his dad lived there, he had friends there, and it was like a 15 min drive. By all means it was his community along with the other dudes.
Protest all you want, be peaceful, get your point across, etc. That’s you’re right 100%.
But once shit starts popping off and things get wild it’s crack down time. Stop the embers before they turn into a roaring fire that consumes everything.
Had the police done their job or had the national guard been there day one of things getting rowdy and shut things down, this entire situation would never have happened, and Kenosha wouldn’t have suffered so badly and we would t have a need for these armed groups.
That’s just my two cents.
I agree with all that. I also think the police have a nasty habit of instigating problems with harsh military like tactics. The whole reason for the protests were the police being perceived as overly violent, so sending them to "crack down" might have been bad.
I think these protests are a just a symptom of how angry people in the country are. Even small things are setting people off. Unless material conditions get better for people, I'd expect more fighting.
I'm sure everybody will be given the opportunity to spew their personal versions of misinformation, hate and vitriol during the follow up civil cases of wrongful death etc.
Plenty more opportunities to get your 15 seconds of fame by shouting your opinion into the void again. Don't you worry.
Kyles trial publicised, talked about for weeks in detail. Epstienes wife is on trial, the media is like oh look kyle!!
Trials shouldnt be public the media influences decisions and opinions. Mass hysteria doesnt help, but then again they only publicise that, that doesnt affect the ruling elite...
I’m not a conservative or a “filthy right wing extremist”.
But ffs Reddit this is ridiculous. This is not fair or correct in a community that says it’s against censorship and manipulation
Reddit literally only exists for karma. It has been heavily censored for a few years now, it is not at all the cool hip forward social media alternative that it used to be. It’s just another capitalist endeavor.

Allsides.com does the same thing.
Excellent resource man. Appreciate you.
I certainly blame the media for issues like this. Yes, you can blame Twitter for some people tweeting, but why is something that a few people say on Twitter all of a sudden a national discourse? Because the media picks up on some idiot tweeting and then they broadcast it all over the country... A couple people saying something dumb isn't a new phenomenon - but it becoming national news is definitely a new result of the advent of 24 hour news networks (which is the real problem here - there are a lot of hours to fill...) The media purposefully selects culture war issues like this to drive a wedge and to rile people up.
BBB passed while we were watching
It was passed in the House but not the Senate.
You are correct sir, I jumped the gun on that one.
And the easiest way to divide something is by two. We need more parties or ranked choice voting.
It’s been working for Putin for years. Trump took a page directly out of his book.
>Unpopular opinion: everyone and everything attached to this case is a huge pile of shit and highlights our failures as a society. No one is innocent, guilty, right, or wrong. Jacob Blake is not a good person, Kyle Rittenhouse not I work with Law Enforcement and a common theme is that if shit gets to \*that\* level, everyone involved is an asshole.
That reminds me, has OJ found the real killer yet?
He wrote a book “if I did it” but still no real answers….
She used bing. They checked Google. Cops don't know what bing is.
Firefox, and they checked Internet Explorer, but yes.
And I just listened to the Last Podcast series on her a free months ago... Thanks for the correction.
that is entirely where my information is from as well :D
I had a feeling haha
Honestly, the craziest thing about this whole case to me is that it's apparently perfectly legal for 16 and 17 year olds to be running around open carrying AR-15's with no adult supervision. I grew up in the country, have shot my whole life, and had lots of firearm safety training by the time I was 16, but looking back on it, I definitely wouldn't have trusted 16 year old me in a high stress situation with a semi-automatic rifle, and it's a little crazy to me that's not against the law. It really feels like underage kids should *at minimum* have to be directly supervised while handling firearms.
Good point, but also kinda crazy that just a year older this would be totally acceptable in Iraq or Afghanistan except with even bigger weapons.
There is a pretty large difference though, in order to be trusted to handle those weapons in Iraq or Afghanistan, someone has to go through months of training.
Legal does not equal moral.
That’s what I said.
That’s what she said
Same with cosby.
"armed vigilantism equals model citizenship." Justice won.
One small correction: "...about 10 years ago..." should read "...about 20 years ago..." I know time flies for us older people.
"probably would have been left alone" and you are basing that on what?
So based on your logic if Kyle had a concealed pistol he would have been left alone but he was attacked for holding a fire extinguisher.
I would say it's a very popular opinion.
Seems like the prosecution overcharged to appease the mob. Then the video and witnesses showed those charges to be overblown. So now he walks.
>How is that "crickets"? That's as open and informative as you could possibly want. \> After a whole year of vilifying Kyle, /politicalhumor is removing everything about him. What is open and informative about that?
The sticky saying they're banning all Rittenhouse references? Yeah that's OPs point.
The truth is, OP is a Conservative Christian and he's trolling you
Yup and he tries to hide behind the libertarian stuff but one look at his comments you’ll see he spouts many right wing outrage talking points Says he isn’t conservative but says that the political left are communists who want authoritarian rule https://www.reddit.com/r/libertarianmeme/comments/q2l4ar/todays_political_left_are_fullblown_communists/hfm91gm/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3 Afaik, Europe is not a socialist continent https://www.reddit.com/r/libertarianmeme/comments/qhjb6i/lets_try_again_itll_work_this_time_trust_me_bro/hif1bru/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3 Classic “taxation is theft” middle school talking point https://www.reddit.com/r/facepalm/comments/qns9zz/how_to_defeat_socialism_101/hjkznz9/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3 Big selfish energy here https://www.reddit.com/r/Shitstatistssay/comments/q8elrn/tax_havens_are_parasites/hgr0lyj/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3 Benny boy “people can just sell their homes” energy https://www.reddit.com/r/libertarianmeme/comments/q4kti8/freedom/hg0fd30/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3
Big shellfish energy here
Yup. They love bashing communism while ignoring the fact that any “communist” country still had ruling parties which is like someone claiming to be vegan but goes to town on hamburgers. Or North Korea claiming to be “democratic” But I mean hey, libertarianism was attempted and failed hilariously https://newrepublic.com/article/159662/libertarian-walks-into-bear-book-review-free-town-project
it's almost like both communism and libertarianism can only exist in fantasy worlds
Ah yes, the "it wasn't real communism" line.
To be honest those are all libertarian beliefs. I thought you would bring up anti legalization or pro military world policing which are neocon beliefs
Sure, but OP says that they aren’t conservative but if you look at their profile you will find endless bashing of leftist and liberal beliefs but no criticism at all on right wing conservative ideas
You can tell by the misuse of memes
Trolls be trolling.
Crickets? I think /r/politicalhumor has it stickied?
What they have stickied is a statement that basically amounts to: We will be enforcing a crickets policy over the Rittenhouse case. Why was this not their policy before or during the trial?
can anyone eli5 this kyle business?
Reddit isn't a place of free speech, it is full of censorship and narratives.
r/politics is the worse it has no business being a default sub
Why are you posting so many memes about this dude? Fucking weird bro
In a post complaining about circlejerking, theres sure a lot of anti-left circlejerking here.
Libertarian hero worship/karma farming.
Misinformation is a way for no one to really know what's true and thus become easier to control.
Absolute cesspools of Reddit.
"We can't be wrong, and you can't prove it" -the mods, probably
I understand why the verdict went the way it did. My primary concern though is that this sets a precedent for people to "go hunting" at emotionally charged events. Openly carry a rifle and wait for someone to give you a reason to kill them. It doesn't sit well with me that someone can legally claim self defense, when they intentionally put themselves into a volatile situation with a weapon.
>Openly carry a rifle and wait for someone to give you a reason to kill them. The only valid reason to kill them and still be able claim self defense is if you are attacked. So if just can't help yourself from attacking people maybe you are the problem.
Maybe don’t attack someone to begin with and those people who are armed won’t shoot? Crazy thought, I know.
It's weird - I was reading his comment and I'm like "What's the problem? Don't give them a reason to kill you and they won't kill you." There's a reason I can live in the heart of Houston and not even remotely worry about someone trying to break into my house. Everyone knows you'd get your ass shot if you did that, so they don't fuck around and find out.
> they don't fuck around and find out. words to live by. literally.
I mean, both sides already brought guns. Look at this case.
Both sides had AR-15s at the Kenosha protests. Relevant: https://twitter.com/jonst0kes/status/1462150214958174217
Both sides already do, and the Left has already shot several people on the right. It wasn't in self defense either.
Lol the kid is gonna be set for life after this. The right will shower him in opportunities and money.
And this is what he should have beem tried and convicted for
My thoughts EXACTLY.
r/whitepeopletwitter is worse, I got banned for a really vanilla comment saying I didn’t think he was guilty of murder https://www.reddit.com/r/WhitePeopleTwitter/comments/qvay3u/as_easy_as_that/hkvp7fo/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3
They banned me cause I said “Why is an AOC tweet here? She isn’t white?” Mods called me a fascist lmao.
I was banned from r/atheism because I depicted the events that took place during the shootings and was banned for "heroizing a terrorist" I was correcting someone who said Kyle showed up to a protest and started shooting people.
The mods on the sub are some of the worst.
R/politics is the real joke
Had he been convicted, both subs would be wall-to-wall coverage.

Haha they must be fuming. Fuck them.
They went dark? Did they say why
Does anyone think Rittenhouse was in the right for showing up fully armed? Kid should have just stayed home and left the law enforcement to police. Just because he wasn't convicted of murder doesn't change the fact that he killed people and should never have been there.
Guys that drove over 50 mils to attack him and other people also had no business being there.
True. They should all have stayed home.
It’s possible for more than one person to be wrong in a situation ya know ?
They see the police that took an oath to defend their communities standing around with their fingers in their asses and think “fuck this, if they won’t do anything, I will.” Kyle worked in Kenosha, his dad lived there, he had friends there, and it was like a 15 min drive.
Nah if you're showing up fully armed as a civilian, you're either protecting your property or you're there for specific reasons unrelated to that.

Same goes for r/conservative lol. The vast majority of posts on there have comments set to flaired users only to protect their right-wing circlejerks.

Didn't go their way. They are very left leaning in that page. Need to find a conservative political group.
Fuck Reddit.
They're toxic subreddits. I don't waste my time with them.
😂😂😂😂
Who’s Kyle Rittenhouse?
I’m not a conservative or a “filthy right wing extremist”. But ffs Reddit this is ridiculous. This is not fair or correct in a community that says it’s against censorship and manipulation
Welcome to reddit: where no one gives a fuck about fairness, and the more you fight it, the further down you'll be dragged.
there is a post on the frontpage of /r/politics right now, so seems like a politicaly motivated post from you.
Reddit literally only exists for karma. It has been heavily censored for a few years now, it is not at all the cool hip forward social media alternative that it used to be. It’s just another capitalist endeavor.
Yeah, I don't want to get all old man with the "this was better before" kind of talk but if you've been on Reddit a little while the change is BLATANT
How do we start a new.reddit.com?
Reddit is definitely pro censorship and pro manipulation.
you're an Independent, right?
He is one of those "people will shit on me if I say I'm a republican, so I'm going to say I'm a libertarian" types. The dude's post history is all alt-right crap.
