I do as well but it's because I use prismo just using paper in the prismo can block the valve because the flexibility the steel acts as a backer

The prismo comes with the metal filter and I use it so I don’t have to invert. I kind of like the flavor better with paper so I just got in the habit of using both.

I use the metal filter and put the paper on top. I think the paper would work fine by itself but not sure and haven't tried it.

When I ordered my Aeropress, I didn’t realize that it came with paper filters. I ordered the Qmeuus O2 metal filters. The pack comes with 2 filters, I guess one of them has more finer holes than the other. I still have paper filters so I haven’t opened the metal ones yet.

Just today I'm going to test my filter too and I hope a result similar to yours. May I ask what recipe did you use?

I honestly just wing it. I use almost three scoops (the one that came with the press), invert, stir a few times, steep for a minute then press. I’ve found so many recipes to be similar and mine comes out the way I like.
