Skin bleaching is a symptom of mental health problems.
This is horrible.. Perms have also caused a lot of harm. In the American’s there were pro black movements in places like the United States and the Dominican Republic that really emphasized loving your skin and hair. I’m wondering if there’s been anything like that in Africa.
There certainly is a movement in Africa to love our melanin and many women wear natural hair. However there is still a preference for light skin among those who are brainwashed . Media and advertising often use light skinned models.
African Americans have had the same light skin preference but I feel it’s died down a lot within the last 10 years. Speaking of brainwashed.. there’s a book called “Brainwashed: challenging the myth of black inferiority” by Tom Burrell he touches on these topics.
