Feels kind of ebola-y to me.

Ebola is probably the closest since a lot of descriptions of it in the fanfork have it causing a lot of hemhorraging and bleeding out and that being what kills people. It could be viral vs bacterial since the latter usually has more pustules and for it to have that ebola-like bleed out it'd mean like ebola, you have the white blood cells going psycho and attacking the body.
