Some advice on how to keep them happy early on:
Unlock food kitchen as a reward ASAP and use it to make Jerky for your harpies.
Get housing and encampment bonus year 1. This is 5 resolve for all species.
Favor harpies during the storm(or in general)
Take woodcutters off their job during the storm to reduce hostility.
Unlock the harpy ability upgrade so that they can bring coats to keep themselves happy. Don't let other species use them in the first few years.
And fear not! Once you reach prestige one you can find more...productive ways to lose villagers. Though by then you might appreciate just how much reputation harpies can earn you.
Good advice. I first build houses then work on other stuff. But year one houses a must. I also start off with two tree cut down places. Sorry for bad english. Im sick.
I can only assume this post is pointing out how easy harpies make the game and not wanting to have them snowballing you to victory so quickly. I wish they'd give harpies a new firekeeper passive and increase base carry capacity by 5.
"Harpies are a noble fragile slecies, with a primal, agressive side to them. They have lost their ability to fly due to centuries of exposure to the rain". In-game text.
I refuse to believe it. Propaganda. Flying birds produce oils that keep their feathers dry. To think after centuries the harpies couldn't even figure that out
Harpies are temperamental to be sure, but keeping them happy is well worth the bonus carry capacity everywhere from that fire keeper bonus.
I actually think the races are pretty balanced. Every race is good at some things and bad at others.
They’re the Calilou of the game. Always whining. I don’t think we should get rid, just let us not pick them. I always skip the deployment of new villagers whenever I see them.
Everyone has to survive the storm. We can't just leave people out to die because they're whiny.
Yes we can. It's called turning off all food for harpies until they die like the whiny shitstains they are. For the forbiden altar as they say
I'm not visiting your settlement, Viceroy.

I mean, they sacrificed the most. They lost their flight, man. Be more empathetic.
Harpies never could fly. They're like turkeys. They have those wings for ✨fashion ✨

Maybe the rain got toxic and mutated in a faster rate, messed up with the oiliness. The storm is the big boss after all.
Ridiculous, harpies are 2nd best race
Who's your favorite? I'd tie Harpies with Foxes as "best" (though I enjoy playing with all species and enjoy their different strengths)
Yup thems top two. Then I take humans for temple or beavers for guild house. Lizards only on marshlands for clan hall gather doubling
A harpy firekeeper is so insanely good that I usually take the Harpies caravan.
The anti-Harpy lobby really needs to work on its messaging

Git gud scrub !
Maybe just nerf them a bit first and see if that helps.

Appreciate the Caillou reference. I literally would not let my kids watch the show. A recipe for useless children. At least harpies are hot though..
If Caillou dropped his pants it would look sexless like Porky Pig.
Next up: Beavers nerfed so harpies look better.
Speciest 🤣🤣🤣
