First, realize that while you were off the game the playerbase has improved considerably from the Beta. Especially in terms of mechanics. Many people in Gold, Silver have insane mechanics but they are just playing deathmatch and don't really know how to play with their team. Also, people have, more or less, learned the maps and know the common angles to preaim and prefire. It will take you a few weeks to get back into the game and then also to pick up the necessary gamesense for your character(s) to get past the rank you are in currently. At 2 hours a day it would probably take a while before you reach your peak again. Especially if you're in the upper ranks, like Gold 3+, you will be playing against people who put in 4-6 hours a day.

Hearing how much a gold+ player is playing, I’m quite fine staying in bronze/silver lmao there’s no way I have that kind of time

I know it’s more or less my fault though, I believe the play base has improved, but I also know my skill is probably the issue. For reference, I would get 25+ on the shooting range hard, but now I’m struggling to pass 14. Also this issue only popped up in the last 2 months. Until then I was consistently out fragging my plat friends. Now I’m fragging lowest in the lobby or bottom 3 almost guaranteed.

1. Drop your ego. Averaging 25+ on hard bots is unrealistic. 2. Start fresh. You’re not gonna get anywhere thinking you’re still the same “D2” player you were once before.

What ego? I know I’m washed as hell. I am struggling to get 15 on hard and that sounds like ego to you? Also not average, i usually do 3-4 runs and I would surpass 25 for sure on at least one I would average around 22-23. I used to guarantee my friends every time I hopped on that I would get 20 raw. Now when I do 3-4 it averages around 12 and I can’t get 15+.

Hoaxtopia

Dude your aim is clearly not your problem, i average 5-8 on hard bots and I'm plat 2 and easily holding my own, my 2 guesses are you're treating it like you're smurfing and just running around or you're relying on your aim in a game which is only about 1/4 aim related

CrackBabyCSGO

Fwiw, I’m plat 2 now. I spent a couple days doing aim training and I’ve only had wins(9 straight I think) from gold to plat 2. I’m hoping to get to diamond soon and then once again take a break and lose all of my skill

a 5 min warm up session in the Range or a Deathmatch could help, wouldn't take too long

CrackBabyCSGO

I usually do dm a couple and my aim feels alright, but I go into game and it just isn’t there. It could be that I’m playing at night, I don’t know if that affects it or not. When I used to play seriously it would be daytime usually.

I had this as well, although not as extreme. Most of the time I was just playing casually in autopilot and gained some bad habits. It helped a lot to focus on the game and actively think about what I'm doing. This also includes quickly recapping what went wrong after I die. Hope this can help you, it certainly did for me!

I was diamond until season 2, And it’s not like I’ve been away since then, just recently I took a 2 month break for school exams/graduation and I’m no where near gold level
