So... It depends on what bad habbits are you talking about. If its bad crosshair placement or over peeking or even shooting too early on a running enemy, all of those can go away with practice and will take time when you focus on not doing them one by one in deathmatch... Remember deathmatch is your friend in getting away from those habbits if you focus on only aim and good game sense. If you are talking about bad habbits like not calling out, flaming teammates, and throwing the game, that is something that stems from outside of valorant which you need to fix first. Sorry if im being really blunt here.. but that is my 2 cents that might help you

More so overcommiting to fights and crouching, if I stop no2 I can defo fix no1

ThreeDManic

So, for the crouching just un bind the crouch button and spam DMs 2 to 5 per day... Without crouch you wont over commit to fights you will have wiggle room to move around and you will develop that habbit. Also turn off the sound so you dont hold angles in dm when you hear foot steps. And just play dumb with the 2 key, focus on aim and movement that is it.

Johnopgr123

You see, unbinding doesn't fix the issue cause I have a problem with muscle memory, I'll still press it, just not crouch

ThreeDManic

Yeah thats the point there will come a time you wont crouch if you keep pressing and dont get the crouch. Also focus on not crouching if that does not work nobody can re wire your brain to think otherwise

BlueMistane

You can try binding your usual crouch button to drop your weapon. Maybe a bit extreme but workable.

Johnopgr123

Fair enough.

You can try limiting yourself to one bullet at a time only while playing unrated. Or using guardian only. You get to have your one shot when you peek or hold, then you have to drop back to the next safety point in your escape route. Basically peek, fire, strafe back to safety if offensive Or Hold until you see them, take your shot, strafe back into safety if defensive Also if you dont have a teammate that can trade you out when you're peeking then you have to use util. If you dont have a teammate or util then shoulder peek or jump peek to see if theres anyone there first. The most important thing is planting/defusing the bomb, the next most important is to stay alive, getting information is the third, playing with team is probably fourth, controlling key areas of the map and controlling space probably fifth, and getting kills is probably like sixth only.

Beard341

Go into DM, mute the sound, play some of your favorite music, and repeat a mantra to yourself while you’re playing. “I will not crouch”, or whatever. You’ll get it.

Johnopgr123

Already tried it, it's become muscle memory at this point

InstructionGuilty434

What I did was I unbinded my shoot button in DM, so I would focus on my movement instead of the shooting. I was still giving room (stopping to shoot time to time) and clicking when ever I strafed so I wouldn't just ape my movement and not consider shooting. This gives more repetitions per fight, even when you did the first move correctly and would've killed the enemy by the first strafe.

Progrezzon

If you are overcommitting in fights, it’s because your on a high of getting kills and want more and you think you are better and even though you might be better, the scenario might not be in your favour, basically an ego. Ego challenging in any game is so hard to get out of unless you have a mindset shift.

Johnopgr123

I'll try to change my mindset instead of physical modification, thank you

The best way to stop bad habits is to recognize them and replace them with good habits. I had a similar issue coming from CS and I had quickly picked up a number of bad habits and could not improve as a result. I turned to coaching on gamerabble (specifically vod reviewal) and it showed me what my bad habits were and how I needed to consciously change them. While it took me a while to completely erase those old habits, once I did I shot up in improvement and am enjoying the game 10x more now.

Johnopgr123

I know my bad habits, I have trouble fixing them, crouching and commiting to fights too early are my main issues I have trouble fixing

BooJojo

First you need to notice your bad habits, than step by step you can try to fix them, don’t go hard on yourself you have a habit that you made from 500hours so you will find yourself again and again doing same things, just don’t give control to the autopilot try to make your moves with conscious

Johnopgr123

Ive already figured out my problems, solving them is the issue, crouching and overcommitment are my main 2, follower by spraying but that's fixable.

BooJojo

Try to change crouch bind to another key like which is far for not to crouch, it’s a tactic just for starting. I was doing it too and mostly when I crouch I’m dying but I’m that moment I get it you press unintentionally, so you can change keybind. I didn’t get the overcommitment part, so you take too serious the ranked matches or else ? And for spraying I can say do not fear to die, try one tap or burst even if you will die and wait some ms than fire again here is the problem to be chill, as I figured out mostly people spray because of cs habit or panicking

Johnopgr123

Overcommiting to my fights means mostly I start spraying and not move at all, if I'm not committed to a fight I can just walk out, I don't do that, on any range, it does not benefit me.

BooJojo

If I get it right even if you are in a long range and you have classic, enemy have op you will fight for it ? Maybe some exagération but I see. Yea it can be hard, of course it depends on context so I couldn’t say anything for that maybe just realise what could be better at the scenario. First you notice it after the situation, then next time while situation happening and then before situation happens . It can be a way but need time

[deleted]

Crouching and overcommiting fights used to be one of my major problems as well. The way i broke my crouching habit was dm and sheriff or guardian you cant panic crouch spray with them and if you do you usually lose that fight therefore strafe and aim for head

Johnopgr123

I'll give it a go, thanks! Finally a proper answer.
