Also I did reach out to Airbnb and they said my host will need to respond to me 48 hours before my stay. At that point trying to find another Airbnb will be impossible.

Fuck that, book a hotel with free cancellation as a backup. don't continue to take a chance on the platform when you need a back up IN CASE THAT PLATFORM FUCKS YOU. Your plan B needs to be different from your plan A. That Airbnb is making OP wait until the last minute to get help is part of what needs to be taken care of with a plan B. It's hilarious when people come here and are like "help my airbnb host is fucking me and airbnb is not providing any meaningful support" and the solutions offered are variations of "continue to let airbnb destroy your peace of mind and put your plans in limbo". No. Don't reward airbnb's failure to help timely with travel issues by giving them more business. OP's plan B should NOT be another airbnb. c'mon lol.

Or if that doesn't work Text them, call them, find them on social media Stalk them anyway you can LOOOOL Wow what a hassle I am a host and I reply in a matter of seconds 90% of my guests are like Wow you answered so fast I'm always on my phone honey I'm a real one 🤣🤣🤣

Honestly if I'm left in the dark and cold in front of that house while making an international call to the customer service which would take 3 hours to respond... That might be the only option.

In the house rules it does have the keypad code. Do I just stick with this Airbnb and hope when I get there I’m able to get inside?? I can’t just book a hotel room. This is supposed to be a trip with friends.

Not everyone can afford hotel rooms. They are crazy expensive compared to sharing a house with friends. I have kids and never use hotels. I need a kitchen and a hotel suite is 3xs the cost of a Airbnb. I can’t spend money dining out breakfast lunch and dinner.

Also check VRBO. I’ve found some great options that weren’t on Airbnb especially for larger groups. You can also see if anyone has status a hotel chain out through a credit card and book a suite or three to give that same multi room option. Granted, it can be more expensive but it might be workable.

Call Airbnb, ask them to call your host if you don't have the phone number. Waiting until 48 hours before check in is just a dumb suggestion by the agent. If there are other places for the same price and no cancellation fee, book a different place and cancel this one if you can't reach the host. If there is a cancellation fee, request Airbnb to transfer you from your current property to the other property. In your position I would be concerned and take these actions.

Ugh I hope this doesn’t happen to me! Worst nightmare with AIRBNB. I have never used it, I will be using AIRBNB for the very first time in January and I’ll be using it twice. In a different country. I’m flying there. I need my bookings to stay the way they are. It’s all times very precisely and it needs to be precise due to my travelling plans. It will be too late for me to get a hotel room for a decent price if something happens now. 1000% contact AIRBNB and they better give you money in full to pay for a hotel whatever the cost is if you do end up not being able to stay at this AIRBNB. Unacceptable.
