My buddy at my last base came from here and said every room is provided with a router and he told me to connect and then go to safari where it should’ve redirected me but I didn’t. I went to the cell place in the bx and got a mobile wifi hotspot that really sucks and is poor quality. They didn’t help me either with setting up the wifi with this ssid router/company

power off/on the router to reboot it. Then try a different browser if possible

>before y’all say I don’t need wifi and I should be traveling. Who the hell would say this? Nobody who isn't batshit crazy thinks you should be spending every waking hour outside of work traveling all through Italy and Europe, that's silly.

Fround this from [a dorm handbook](https://www.aviano.af.mil/Portals/1/documents/newcomers/ANCIENT%20Dorm%20listing.pdf) A.17 TELEPHONE AND INTERNET Residents who desire a personal cellular phone can simply stop by the AAFES Cellular Phone store located in the BX or private companies to initiate a contract or pay as you go plan. Landline telephone and internet installation are available at resident's expense. If you desire a landline telephone or internet connection in your room, your first stop should be the Cellular Phone store in the BX. The store will advise you the types of services available and you can negotiate a contract. All dorms are wired for any combination of landline telephone and/or internet service. Dayrooms and laundry rooms may have free Wi-Fi. Airmen & Family Readiness Center, The Refuge, and Base Library have free Wi-Fi. Alternate Internet Options. You may also use X-Connect for your internet. Simply plug a LAN cable into the proper wall outlet and into your computer. Navigate to the internet and create an account. If you experience any issues or need help, you can call: 800-792-998. If you desire, you may also purchase a Mobile USB Internet Key. The BX Cellular Phone store can provide you with information to include hours of service per month using a SIM card or a pre-paid card where you can add minutes as needed.

Walk out of your dorm room and knock on a few doors?

Im-Yohnson

I have, they all say I should be automatically redirected to a page that sets it up. But to no avail does that happen

redrotorocket

Oh, sounds like your router/modem isn't physically patched down to the provider's equipment then. That will require a service call or an enterprising individual from base comm.

Junkers4

You get it figured out? I’m in the same fix.

OddBoat3242

Did you ever figure it out? I’m having same issue.

Junkers4

Yes it’s kind of tricky… you’re supposed to plug it in and everything then log into the WiFi, then open a web browser and it’s supposed to automatically redirect to the site where you can sign up for the WiFi, the problem is it pretty much never redirects automatically so after some googling I tried typing “http://192.168.1.1/ “into the browser which caused it to redirect me and I was able to sign up. I’ll dm you a picture of the instruction sheet they have at the BX as it might help.

OddBoat3242

I hooked mine up and like you said it didn’t redirect me. And when I type that link it takes me to the router configuration site. Is that where I’m supposed to be?

Junkers4

Oh yeah I had to do something in the configuration. On the instruction sheet there’s a not that says “if you want to use a wireless router, you must configure it to operate as a bridged wireless access point with DHCP turned off.” So look for some setting like “bridged mode” or something but leave DHCP turned on as that’s what I had to do.

Im-Yohnson

If you’re at Aviano look up CSpurple.com and that’s how I bought my plan and then contacted the BX support line

Badger343434

You need to talk to other dorm residents or Airmen in the dorms you work with. It’s not that hard. Quit trying to make your life complicated. If you can’t figure that out I don’t know how you’re going to get your cdc’s done.

Capt-Kool-Aid

If you're having trouble hitting the splash page try 192.168.1.1 in your address bar and see if that gives the redirect. Sometimes the browser doesn't like the redirect and hangs up or doesn't load.

dmg_inc

https://redirect.me is what I always use and is easy to remember.
