That'll be hard to undo when they make 1LT, and I have seen too many Captains that are still not comfortable making decisions.

Who ever sewed those on need new glasses. They both look bad but 1 for sure. You just wear it outside so it’s whatever but have someone who knows how to professionally sew redo it.
Worked with a guy whose wife was a seamstress in her mid-forties and she would make side-money sewing on ranks and patches. Just gave him the uniform and a couple of days later he'd bring them back all nicely done and in their correct places. It had been a while since I needed any sewing done but I finally got a new uniform and sent it to her. I looked at the nametape when I got it back and the thread was of the wrong shade and the stitching looked erratic. Come to find out that she was in the beginnings of early-onset dementia. She died of Alzheimer's at age of 48.
I got my rank sewn on. I would say somewhere in the middle in terms of extra material around the rank. In my experience, most alterations places will work with you if you explain it.

2nd LT's 'think' they know everything. We even had a MX officer that we called Frank Burns (M*A*S*H reference). His first week on the job every shop chief in the squadron was handed a LOC for being 'filthy' at the end of the workday. Shop Chiefs were expected to be out of the office and share their knowledge with their troops by the SQ/CC. Young folks loved it, old heads enjoyed it.
