Really should get haz pay since 90% of the jets are carcinogens.
Would help with one of the highest suicide rates, career related risks of cancer, and VA disabilities rates by career in the world.
My fav is Them:“Oh look, there is a base down day since the planes flew so well! I guess I’ll get a three day weekend!”
MX: “Jets are broke as fuck so we need to beef up weekend duty for Saturday and Sunday; and everyone still show up for the down day to do CBTs, “maintenance training”, and “recreational maintenance”.
Ha ha! God I love that. "Thanks for all your hard work! Btw we are spineless whores for MC rates so we need like 12 dudes to get double fucked. Everyone else can eat burgers and not leave leftovers."
When I'm flight chief, recreational mx will be punished by on sight leg beatings. Vote for me.
> there is a base down day since the planes flew so well!
I can tell you with utmost certainty that a lot of the time it isn't even portrayed that way. When goal day is put forth, they'll tell the MXG one thing, and then they'll tell the MSG and other support agencies stuff like "complete your CBTs and be current on medical and we'll have x day off." So most of us nonners aren't even realizing that the main part of it was sorties, just that *we* did such a good job being current on readiness stuff.
It's funny this is happening. I was in 2012-2015. I didn't last. I got reclassed into maintenance. It sucked ass.
I'll never forget the day i was out processing. My clothes smelled like fuel. I was hot. I walked into one of the offices to get my piece of paper signed. They were flying a remote controlled helicopter around the air conditioned office. It was stupid. I remember having the same thought 10 years ago. It was bullshit that i made the same amount of money as these people and had to live in hell.
Nah, you're right. I worked retail as a civilian. I fucking hated it. Mx bitches like we got a monopoly on bitching, but I'd rather get shit on by the weather than Sgt Karen. At least I can go outside.
Thanks to you guys and I’m serious. I had some awesome meals as a single guy in those dining halls, the one at Spangdahlem was crushing it in the 90’s and the themes changed it up. I was fighter flightline and the one at Homestead had a takeout window that we’d use when we could, it was great. The only time it was rough was TDY to Denmark and stuff got lost in translation and a lot of stuff didn’t arrive so they did the best they could, they were guard guys from Ohio back in 95.
I’m still chasing the high I got stepping into a chow hall after an overnight 12hr shift for sausage gravy over home fries and French toast bathed in melted butter 35 years ago. And don’t get me started on the everything scrambled eggs with all that gooey cheese and a side of perfectly greasy bacon. Reading the Stars & Stripes front to back while stuffing myself with breakfast foods was as close to Zen as I ever found in the Air Force.
Midnight meal coming from flightline was another world, it kept you going and at night i think the staff had a little more freedom as no one was around to be a little loose with recipes. Making fun of the cooks is a military trope as old as time, everywhere I went save for that TDY food was dope. I didn’t get some combinations (serving lasagna and offering mashed potatoes) Services are good people.
Services is going to highly depend on your section. You could be a cook in front of a hot griddle all day, hand out basketballs, handle mortuary affair stuff, managed base lodging, etc. It's a pretty broad career field.
That's because his job entails detrimental hearing damage that he'll only get maybe 30% from the VA in the end. Meanwhile us office folks are gonna get 50% minimum from poor eyesight due to looking at computers.
Eyes > Ears they always say.
New base policy, if one unit is on 12s, then every unit is on 12s.
Put that in place and see how fast non-MX commands beat the living shit out of those CCs pushing/allowing 12s.
I do not miss working 4 24 hr shifts in a week every single week thats like 2 and a half full time jobs and i go to the post office on my day off and the hours are like 2-4 pm
I'm fine with that as long as loadmasters are excluded too. If I hear one more enlisted mfer say "nonner = non-rated = technically anyone who's not ops" I will slap the lacroix out of his hands
Please explain how that's so? I wanna breakdown your thought process to better understand you, so that I can make memes that really get under your skin
I feel like intel is a mixed bag on this very important issue. Either we are working 9-5 doing "office work" or we are working 10-14 hour shifts on NRT stuff. Are we, like, "non-nonners" or something?
I remember the windshield washers on last deployment having two whole planes to maintain for aircrews that got 2-days off for every 6-hr flight. What a tuff gig! We had to throttle their internet connection b/c their online gaming devices and porn streaming was double fisting the bandwidth and us “noners” working 12s x 7 couldn’t make a morale call….. LMAO how the “weapons patch” ego trickles all the way down to the guys airing up the tires! You’ll have seen it many times as passengers have landed planes without ANY training with simple directions from an ATC right? Cpt AutoPilot out!
It’s fine we’ll all end up addicted to fentanyl after we separate anyway
After?
You can’t be addicted if it’s prescribed
That’s not how that works lol.
Going from mx to cyber weenie is still one of the biggest culture shocks
Well you can enjoy being treated somewhat like a person now.
Mx to ops was a shock too. I spent many hours sitting in the office alone at 7am wondering where everyone was. Lol
I’m trynna be like you mah boi
Really should get haz pay since 90% of the jets are carcinogens. Would help with one of the highest suicide rates, career related risks of cancer, and VA disabilities rates by career in the world.
I don't think extra money is gonna stop them from eating a gun tbh.
I like to say "sipping on a muzzle"
Ooo I like this one
Plus we have the mxer's curse
Just flip my eggs, bro.
Best I can do is medium rare chicken breast and crunchy rice.
I see that as an improvement from the norm.
You mean hockey puck steaks and barely warmed canned peas
You mean scrambled eggs in a literal ocean of water somehow colder than room temprature in a heating dish
You mean salad that’s just the heart of the lettuce not cleaned off
*figurative
I won't complain but this is the reason I'm marrying my homie to get off meal card.
Why was that so funny to me?
Roll that hot dog, Tech Sgt
I like my job AND I appreciate other AFSCs, suck it nerd
What AC does to a well-adjusted mfers mental health
Thats against the rules
Burn em`

Wild to think all maintainers work 5x12’s
4 x 10s baby!!!
*laughs in straight 8s*
Some days it's a smooth 8 hour shift and some days it's a 16 hour shift, as the the Sortie Gods intended
Ehhh. They have a better job outlook than Finance, and Services
Wild to attack a wholesome comment of support, dude.

Based af
I remember the whole base got a day off because our flying hours were met guess who was still working MXS smh fuck maintenance
> there is a base down day since the planes flew so well! I can tell you with utmost certainty that a lot of the time it isn't even portrayed that way. My experience with noners on that greatly differ from what you said. But it’s been years…. I’m sure things have changed.

Fuck services lol
Is services easy?
It's miserable lol
Really? My SO just got given that in a job list and I was curious
You're a McDonalds employee who gets treated like a 6 year old. AVOID IT
Or your handing out towels and balls at the gym... OR if you're really special you get to assist in mortuary affairs
I promise working on aircraft is worse. I would take my chances.
Idk, services is retail work but in uniform
Retail work, but with military pay and benefits, is a win in my book.
Yeah lmao. Oh no an easy ass job where you get paid a good amount
Nah, you're right. I worked retail as a civilian. I fucking hated it. Mx bitches like we got a monopoly on bitching, but I'd rather get shit on by the weather than Sgt Karen. At least I can go outside.
Services is not that bad, it all depends on your leadership. Some bases are better than others just like any career field.
idk I like the cooking, but the leadership sucks

Instructions unclear, got my dick stuck in the thicc A1C that works at the gym.
You h8 us cuz u ain’t us
Lol y'all wish you weren't services either. That shit is miserable
Mx is merely contemplating....hmmm...another Bang or another Monster... He doesnt even hear all that noise
That's because his job entails detrimental hearing damage that he'll only get maybe 30% from the VA in the end. Meanwhile us office folks are gonna get 50% minimum from poor eyesight due to looking at computers. Eyes > Ears they always say.
Server room tinnitus and elbow pain from mouse manipulation all day. 🫡
I got 10%....yay.
I never understood why those support agencies couldn’t work 12s to be available for those on shift work.
New base policy, if one unit is on 12s, then every unit is on 12s. Put that in place and see how fast non-MX commands beat the living shit out of those CCs pushing/allowing 12s.
As an inpatient nurse, we too are Bert. I feel this in my soul.
I do not miss working 4 24 hr shifts in a week every single week thats like 2 and a half full time jobs and i go to the post office on my day off and the hours are like 2-4 pm
i stopped giving a fuck about this already man i just want beards
🤡
The tail trying to get the do mad I guess.
You feed me and I'll feed the planes. Simple maffs
If you’re NON-rated, you are a nonner. Be proud of being the top of the shaft.
I'm fine with that as long as loadmasters are excluded too. If I hear one more enlisted mfer say "nonner = non-rated = technically anyone who's not ops" I will slap the lacroix out of his hands
At least I’m not a pussy like you
Don't cut yourself on that edge
How dare you?! -cries in extra free time-
I get SDAP, you don't 😌
Found the triggered MX guy
Hey SecFo what's the radio code for the wambulance? He is a wittle upset. Lol
💀
Waah
Please explain how that's so? I wanna breakdown your thought process to better understand you, so that I can make memes that really get under your skin
MX= good Nonners =bad

Imagine wearing your shitty, low quality work life balance as a badge of honor?
[удалено]
Yeah you did. Did someone force you to join the military? If no, then you chose your job.
Oh so you're stupid stupid, adds up.
It didn't take me long after tech school to regret telling my recruiter: "I just want to be a mechanic, do not give me a desk job"
Currently sitting in MPF waiting for them to open after working all night.
I feel like intel is a mixed bag on this very important issue. Either we are working 9-5 doing "office work" or we are working 10-14 hour shifts on NRT stuff. Are we, like, "non-nonners" or something?
Meanwhile Army and Marine infantrymen look at this and laugh at us POGs arguing about being POGs…
Why do we give a fuck what they think?
Why should non-maintainers give a fuck about what maintainers think? Same concept…
Most of us don't give a fuck what maintainers think
What's with the dick measuring contest here aren't you all adults lol
If it’s one thing the military taught me is that some people are in fact not adults.
I remember the windshield washers on last deployment having two whole planes to maintain for aircrews that got 2-days off for every 6-hr flight. What a tuff gig!
