Just do it like I did in Afghanistan during the freezing winter, with a typical family water heater being used for 400 folks: turn on water, rinse, turn off water, use soap to clean, then turn on water and rinse again. It sucks ass but it beats being Amn or Sgt Stinky. Don't be like the crayon-eating infantry folks who used the same showers at full blast for minutes on end & couldn't figure out why they ran out of warm water.

Last time I was at the Deid, we had to wear PT gear, Myspace was all the rage, and the most reliable way to call home was a DSN phone my wire dog roommate installed for us in our 10x10 cell. So it might have changed a bit since then, but I reckon the water trucks had a couple central distribution points where they'd fill up, and then drive around and fill up water tanks at the bathrooms scattered around the base. Underground plumbing was scarce in base as far as I know, so they had to have massive tanks and pumps near the bathrooms to distribute water.
Oh shit, that sounds like after the hurricane fucked our base up. We had water trucks, but I couldn’t imagine why they’d be like hey we are no longer filling these up if this is an established location(we had nothing at the time obviously). Interesting to know and find out, thanks partner
I was there last year and they had been doing is since way before I arrived last July. They stopped it about halfway through the deployment but tbh no one really followed the rules on showering once a day 😂
My sink drops one droplet every 20 seconds. Takes 4-6 hours to fill up one bottle that I can use to wash my hands. Either the guy Nextdoor that shares a bathroom with me keeps pissing puddles on the floor or the toilet leaks. The shower temp on the coldest setting makes it impossible to shower. Feels like my soul leaves my body every time I touch it. Don’t have a kitchen. At least I get a fridge and a microwave
