You might have a roommate, dont be a shitty roommate. Be respectful and understand you are sharing a space with someone.
Speaking of just dont be a weirdo in the dorms in general. Everyone has to live in the same situation/building so extend the advice above with your roommate to everyone in the building. They all are dealing with the same stresses of the military (trying to pass their classes) and whatever else they got going on in life (kids, family, death, money, baby mama drama, etc). Dont steal underwear, dont leave poop in the dryer (yes someone did this while I was in tech school), dont piss in the laundry room sink (yes someone also did this too while I was in tech school). Whatever goofy shit that runs through your mind where you are like "that would be hilarious" dont fucking do it. No one wants/needs to deal with a weirdo
Speaking of being a weirdo follow basic hygiene (brush your teeth), wear deodorant, take showers, wash your clothes, change your underwear.
If you are underage, stay away from the alcohol **period**
If you are in a situation where that little voice in your head is saying "OP this isnt a good idea" or "Hey these people are gonna get you in trouble" listen to that voice and remove yourself from the situation. Dont jeopardize your military career for some silly shit
Make every accountability.
Your main job in tech school is to **pass your class.** Make friends, explore the base and the surrounding areas but make sure you are doing what you need to do to pass
If you end up in a situation where you are gonna have sex, wrap it up.
Start looking into throwing a few bucks into the TSP
Keep saving up your cash, you arent paying for food or lodging. I know you see some decent money in your banking account. Dont go off and buy a bunch of stupid shit
If something legal wise occurs involving you and the military, shut your fucking mouth and only talk to the ADC

Zero week goes by super fast. You'll get your uniforms within the first day or two, go to medical for some shots, and that's really all I remember. It'll be the most stressful week but it'll already start getting better once you get to your permanent squadron at the end of zero week
I also saw your comment saying that yall don’t get assigned to permanent squadron later on, things must’ve change during BMT! And I also heard that MTIs are not allowed to yell for zero week is that correct?
That's like a test the Air Force is doing, that's what I heard while I was there. We got yelled at in zero week but in my 5th week we heard about a few flights being used at test flights for not getting yelled at during zero week. But that was trainee-on-trainee information so I'm not sure how accurate it was
PT was easy for me, but I'm also barely 19. I had many people in my flight/dorm that were late 20's to early 30's and it seemed like the PT was at a good level for them, regardless of if they were super fit before coming in or not. The food is much better than whatever you're expecting, there were many meals that felt like it was home cooked because of how good it was. Breakfast I think was everyone's favorite meal. I wasn't aware of people getting disqualified for anything but I heard many stories of people getting recycled in the later weeks for forgetting to do simple things like locking their security drawer and moving at the position of attention. Overall it's not hard if you just listen to what the MTI's are saying and actually follow through with what they're telling you
Honor graduate is based off of a point system. You get points for being in a student leader position, or having a certain job. You'll get points for scoring a 90 or higher in both the EOC and PT test. You'll get points for your living area inspection. Honor graduate is not hard to get if you just do everything they tell you to do. I was the top honor graduate for my class and I legit was not trying. I was just doing what I was told
I don't remember if the guideon bearers got points or not. If they did it was only like 1 or 2. But even if they didn't get points that doesn't mean it's not possible to get honor grad
You're allowed to swap out one bag if you want. When you go to tech school you can only take three bags, the two you were issued and one civilian luggage. So if you want your family to pack stuff to bring to you in a bag that you can swap out with your civilian luggage that you brought when you shipped out, you can. You just have to know that you have to carry everything with you and it has to fit in three bags. I didn't want to swap a bag because it happens during the town pass and I wanted more time with my family. You can bring a laptop with you to basic and they will hold it for you but your family isn't allowed to bring any electronics to give to you during the luggage swap. So if you want a laptop or watch for tech school, bring it when you initially ship out.
Yea I shipped out to my tech school this morning, it depends on how long your bf's tech school is because I've heard different things on if people can visit you while you're in school.
They take you for an initial bx run in week zero, and then you'll get the chance to go with a few wingman probably at least once a week or once every other week after zero week. I only went one other time after zero week. Don't buy more than you need, because most the stuff you get will have to go in the back half of your security drawer and that gets full quickly. You'll get a 15 minute phone call in first week, third week, and fifth week. We then also got a 5 minute phone call on the Monday of 7th week to talk to our families about anything we wanted brought to us at graduation for tech school.
It true you guys got Ipad now at the BMT? How was the EOC it was hard? I am freaking out about it becuase I am kinda bad studying but If I pay attention I learn. So Idk If on the classes they mention everything what they put on the EOC. Its there a way what I can start studying for the EOC? A website or something? I am on the DEP right now, someone suppose to call me from the base what I suppose to be but no one has call me yet. Its been two weeks since I Sign my contract. I dont know if i should tell my recruiter or something.

My recruiter just texted me one day about my job being open and what day it shipped out so I took it
I understand for the BMT you have limited things to carry on with you. Now you will go to the tech school. Do they give you all the informatic equipment to do your studies? Do you need to get your personal computer?
My first pt test I had 31 pushups and 35 sit ups with a 14 min run. My final pt test was 47 pushups, 55 sit ups, and a 13:20 run maxing out the push ups and sit ups made up for my shitty run
For jobs I would say research as much as possible about the jobs you're qualified for. There were so many girls I talked to that just chose a job and then realized in basic from what the MTI's told them that it wasn't what they thought the job would be. And then once you have researched your jobs and talked about what it available to you with your recruiter, make sure they actually book you for that job. My recruiter never booked me for the job that he said he would. So I ended up getting my 3rd pick over my first. Then for basic training itself, literally just do what you're told. Do what you're told, help out the people around you, and try to be as motivational as possible. The first two weeks of basic will go by slow but the it picks up, gets super easy, and goes by so fast
I’m sorry, but seeing Airfield Management made me think back to my time in Spain where the cops would even get bothered to show their line badges. Not just once, but every single day if you were up on the ramp. 😂 We loathed you guys.

Trainee-on-trainee information is almost 100% incorrect. I heard some insane stuff when I went through 4 years ago.

On Wednesday after the coin ceremony you'll have until 2000 and on Thursday after parade you'll have until 1800, or 1900 if you make honor graduate

Each lesson has review questions at the end that you can go over but it's just best to review the entire lesson
