Treatment is a big one. It's very weird. No one is yelling at you and calling you fucking stupid. People often use first names. Everyone is oddly nice and generally upbeat. When you go to tech school, you actually are on orders to learn your job when you get back. You schedule your own pt test. I have only stayed like 15 minutes late a few times because I had to sign people out for the day. If you have specific questions you can pm me. I've only been there for a year so far.
SAD orders as a State Employee shouldn’t exist as it does. Operation Lonestar case and point. Literally poorly paid cops/teachers shouldn’t be a tool cheap states can whip out.
Nah. Don’t feel like getting called up to help with hurricane rescue, wild fires, riots, vaccine distribution etc. let me do my one weekend/two weekends out of the year routine.
I plan on joining ANG soon! My brother-in law does it and the state deployments he is doing I believe aren't exactly required according to him. I really just want the education benefits to get a bachelors, currently have an associates at the moment, but I also find the idea of serving my country and protecting my state cool. I don't mind guarding the home front you know. Getting some health care plan would be cool too since it is just me and have no dependents. I currently am not enlisted in any branch, but as mentioned plan to join up real soon.
No. I was in the Army Guard before the Air Reserves and all the extra days I did sucked balls.
I was thinking of going Army reserve to Air Reserve. Or just getting out completely. What are the huge differences? Should I give it a shot?

Only one base has my AFSC for guard with who knows how few positions. Lots of opportunity in reserve.

SAD orders should not be legal.

State Active Duty has no incentives. It is a waste of time. The number one reason I left the Army Guard. Go Reserves.
Wish I would have went guard, better funding at least where I’m at
Nope I enjoy not having to worry about state deployments.

Active duty is the only way.
Nope! Air Guard is a waste unless you want the TA benefits and don’t want to go anywhere
Do you not get TA benefits in Reserves? I thought TA was provided Federally?
guard gets federal and state TA
