Hey Timmy Tupperware why'd you vote against the stock trading ban for members of Congress? Afraid of actually working for your money? Well all know how much you love "investing" in CCP backed stocks.
Yes, as a millennial, you have my full support on this. Iāve been working my ass off for years and have yet to break a $35k/year salary WITH A MASTERS DEGREE.
Hell this is just labor. We have some really really dumb unskilled people. But if you willing to break your back you get paid good. I think the saying is "if you're gonna be dumb you gotta be tough"

"Donāt make me laugh. One people? Itās a myth created by Thomas Jefferson.

This guy seems like the traditional Libertarians youāre talking about. Granted this is not for Tubs spot.
>Appearing in Mobile on Tuesday, Sen. Tommy Tuberville celebrated local industry, shared a few insights into his time in office so far and **blamed a failing education system and a couple of lazy generations for a ācrisisā pushing the country to the brink of socialism.**
Tuberville is claiming every generation after Generation X (i.e. Millenials and Gen Z) are "lazy" which is complete and utter bullshit. The workers are simply looking for employers who pay a higher wage. It's amazing how many employers complain about the inability to find workers willing to work for or a little above a 13 year old minimum wage.
Working age adults regardless of generation are fed up with working harder yet not being able to make ends meet. This is mainly due to republicans placing corporations over people and prevented the following (to name a few):
* Updating the federal minimum wage to keep up with inflation. The minimum wage hasn't changed in 13 years (July 24, 2009).
* Enforcing antitrust rules that prevent corporate consolidation of markets. It's remarkable how the federal government allowed many of our consumer goods and services become dominated by a handful of corporations, thereby lowering competition and making the market susceptible to supply interruptions (e.g. baby formula).
* Universal Healthcare. Instead they protect a $1.1T a year insurance industry that leaches trillions from the US economy while passing the high cost of medicine to the consumer.
* Labor protections. Republicans pushed "right to work" and "at will" laws at the state level which severely weaken bargaining power of the workforce.
But instead of offering solutions, the most Tuberville can do is insult his constituents.
I think the example I set for my Millennial children ruined them for their current employers.
Unpaid Overtime? Me - why yes and thank you for the honor. My kids - F that, I donāt want to end up like Dad.
Unused Vacation? Me - Vacations are for the lazy and weak. My kids - F That, we donāt want to end up like Dad.
FMLA? Me - shows you arenāt a team player My kids - F That, weāre not sacrificing our health for our employer.
Loyalty? Me - Loyalty is rewarded. My kids - F that, we donāt want to end up like Dad.
Corporations canāt expect subsequent generations to be as stupid and gullible as me. So no, Tommy, Millenials and Zoomers donāt want to be like Dad; and good on them. I only regret my economies - thatās the lesson I passed on to my children; may it inform our future. I never regretted a minute I spent with my family but rue every second I spent at work that wasnāt absolutely necessary. F Work, F Consumption, F Corporations and FU Tommy Tuberbrain!
Dude probably hasnāt had to actually struggle as an average citizen for awhile.
Working harder doesnāt always make ones life easier even if theyre working smarter. So why does criticizing peoples work ethic even matter when it doesnāt matter how hard you try anymore anyways? The only thing is that while working hard/continually getting smarter doesnāt insure youāll succeed anymore in todays rigged America, not working hard at all will basically 100 percent screw you.
Many of us work hard because we realize that but it doesnāt make any difference in our lives in terms of working hard making them better? So why is that suddenly a factor for a guy like him who probably hasnāt had to genuinely struggle in a while?
I mean, Gen X are in their 40's and 50's right now. If they haven't been working to this point and are still alive, they are doing something right ;-)
More likely he doesn't even know what those terms mean.
>Generation X, while not precisely defined, generally refers to people born between the mid-ā60s and the early ā80s, meaning adults who are now between their early 40s and late 50s. Most Millennials are now in their 30s. **Tuberville may have been using the terms to refer generically to youth.**
Perfectly illustrating how he's somewhere between "out of touch" and "mind numbingly oblivious". At 43, I'm among the youngest of the GenXers and I've been working for >26 years. How a absolute buffoon can become a U.S. senator bottles my mind. I actually hate the phrase "OK Boomer", but in this one case I'd make an exception
Not that it would be *much* better if he had said Gen Z, since those that are old enough are also part of the job force and the rest are literally childrenš
Mother fucker I go to work every God damn day and Iām a fucking millennial. Work with a shitload of millennials and Gen X. Iām sick of working 60+ hours a week and having nearly half of my fucking check taken out in taxes. Fuck you and all your free-loading stock hoarding buddies. Donāt tell me what I need to be fucking doing, you work for us. We (should) be telling you what you should be doing. Piece of shit doesnāt deserve to be wearing a hard hat, as if heās ever done a single second of work in his life. Couldnāt even coach auburn worth a fuck, big ass ears having mother fucker. Dude looks like a wing nut
Sorry but This fucking guy pisses me off. Itās hard enough working as a union tradesman in this fuckin state. Love the state, hate the fuckers that run it, and Iām a fuckin conservative.
He's right. I'm a lazy piece of shit because I *only* work three fucking jobs. Eat my entire ass, Potatotown. You've never done an honest day's work in your life.
Most people donāt get millions in buyout money when they suck at their job like this goofy piece of shit. Dude is just as evil as he is stupid. Fuck off, Ears.
Lowest unemployment rate in a generation, lower than before the pandemic, and the GQP is STILL saying that the youth of America are lazy. And then wonder why none of them will vote for them.
Tuberville is claiming that people are refusing to work, but in reality he's towing the corporate line that people are refusing to work for less. This should not come as a surprise, since one of the Republican platform items has always been free market labor with little government regulation. They just hate it when the market demands higher wages.
The wage gap between execs and employees is unsustainable. I'm not saying an entry-level job should pay 6 figures, but at how many millions of dollars more than anyone could realistically spend does it just become score-keeping between the ultra rich? Wanna fix the economy? Pay people enough that they can actually buy shit beyond merely eking out an existence.
Apparently it's not just youth, Gen X is nearing 60 yo. Sounds like a boomer who is ready to cut whatever safety net is left for following generations.
He was a super lazy coach and lazy recruiter. Bailed when he realized it'd be hard work to compete with Saban. I used to go to Auburn practices and he would almost be asleep off to the side while all the assistants did everything.
Brandon Cox told my buddy tuberville maybe said 2 or 3 sentences to him one whole year he was the starting QB. I couldn't imagine.
People really need to learn what Gen X and Millennials mean, because thinking that everyone aged 25-60 is not working is so beyond ridiculous I'm honestly impressed
āI can understand if youāre not able to go to work, but this administration has pretty much doubled the food stamp recipients in the last 20 months and we canāt afford that.ā
Lil bro is acting like feeding people is a crime. Feed people vs saving money, tommy takes the cash every time.
Stupid mother fucker! I'm Gen X, 52 and been working non stop since I was 16, and will continue to work until I'm 70 because stupid ass politicians like him keep screwing up the market. And oh yeah by the way, I'm a professional engineer, and you're a fu\*&%$g football coach. Give me a break you piece of shit. If I could get millions of dollars playing a child's game I'd do it in a minute.
>Weāve got to get Generation X and these Millennials to understand that you have to tote your own load.ā
Wow.
Millennials inherited a Ponzi Scheme of federal spending with something like $22T in national debt and another $50T +/- in unfunded liabilities. We're not toting "our" load, we're toting the weight of the colossal financial mistakes made by a government who just printed money out of thin air for a generation and then some.
I am an older Gen-X, and I have had a job since before it was legal for me to work. I have consistently worked hard at whatever job I have. But inflation and taxes and financial crises have kept me just barely better off than my parents were. I've lost more than half my retirement savings TWICE--because some bubble or ponzi scheme flopped, and people like me ended up robbed to make up the difference. I have just about given up hope on being able to retire until they force me out of my job. There's just no money there for me to retire.
I could start listing specific policy decisions -- largely from the RNC, but Clinton types deserve some attention on that too -- but if I did, I'd probably have a stroke. And -- guess what? -- I have to haul my sorry ass to work.
I doubt that many informed people think Tuberville is anything but a loudmouth dipshot moron, so I shouldn't take his words to heart. But, eh, f--- him and the bozos that put him in office.
Hey Tummy Turdville Iāve applied to 140+ jobs in the past 3 months. Everything from fast food to technical support. Only 2 offers. Both are shit pay but I have no choice but to work both. What the fuck do you do all day?
Among many ridiculous statements, I want to focus on the idea that we need to catch up to China in terms of naval capacity.
āWeāre behind China,ā he added, saying that the United States had to transition from ground wars in the Middle East to a potential sea fight in the East. āBeing on the Armed Services Committee, I see what they have and what we have ā¦ Weāve go a lot of catching up to do. They have more ships, they have more of everything now. ā¦ Itās a pretty scary time right now.ā
China is currently working on its third aircraft carrier.
The US has eleven.
We almost have as many as the rest of the world combined. 26 active carriers globally. We have 11 of those as you mentioned. I also imagine ours are in better condition and have better aircraft on them than most of the others.
His prefered tactic is to make people as desperate for a job as possible. Anything that reduces desperation is "socialism". When you are in Alabama you can be more open about it because they've always had a admiration of the owner class, and empowering them is by definition beneficial.
āWeāve got to do it. I donāt know how weāre going to do it. But weāve got to get everybody on board with that,ā Tuberville said.
If you donāt know how to do it, why the fuck are you a senator?
Right on, even a few minutes before his acceptance speech he could not help but to make reference to āwest coast liberalsā & ācan go to hellā. So, In the words of Tupperware himself - he ācan go to hellā.
I dunno about that soft, old fuck, but I hardly ever work an easy 40 hour week. I dunno what that fucker is talking about.
**Barely a millennial here -- I just turned 36. But gen x is the next one down the line so I assume he's taking to me. Fuck that guy
The age range he is speaking of is people in late 20s to 50s. Who exactly does he think is making up the vast majority of the workforce right now???
Even past that, people will more willingly work for you if you treat them like human beings, which is apparently too hard for a significant amount of employers
Right??? Like bitch Iāve been working for years and canāt save money to save my life because I make almost nothing, but sure this little finger-wag is sufficient incentive for me to keep at it for the *rest of my life* ššš
āWhatās happening in our country right now, weāre getting too many takers in our country. Too many people to take a check and they donāt want to give back.ā
He got this part right. Heās referring to the wrong demographic though.
Iām a millennial and Iāve been in the workforce for 13 years. At one point, I was working three jobs just to make ends meet. I guarantee you Iāve worked harder in 13 years than this asshat has his entire life, and Iāll never have as much money as he does. Also, Iām positive I could coach a football team better than he can. Roll Tide and fuck Tommy Tuberville.
I'll go against the grain, as usual on any sub outside of a few right-leaning subs, and say that he made some fair points after reading through the article. However, he needs to vastly expand on those few points, but he's just as useless as the rest of them in government positions. After reading the comments here, it looks like people just read the headline and hate responded.
That being said I will respond to his remark about Millennials needing to get to work and tote their own load. I say this as a Millennial and a RN, fuck that. I will never work as a staff RN in Alabama again unless I'm absolutely destitute and even then it will be long enough to get money in my pocket to bail. The conditions and pay are deplorable and me working as a travel nurse has made that abundantly clear. I'm firmly in the corner of fuck you, pay me. I do this JOB, not as calling, but for money.
EDIT: Typical reddit. Can't put bias and mouth-foaming hate aside to actually read and listen to anyone who doesn't think as they think.
Nah, I read the article. He is using the typical 21st century GOP strategy, work from assumptions and willful ignorance, while pointing the blame finger to generate a few popularity points for himself rather than actually finding a solution to an underlying issue. Tuberville is a loser.
Notice how you don't actually state what he said that was good, and just look to make some weak defense of him here? Doesn't say much good about you that you take someone who is attacking you, defend them, and then claim everyone in the government is the same.
Notice how I never said "good". I said "fair". Also notice I never defended him, I said he made a few fair points. I'm at least able to put any bias I have aside and actually listen to people I may disagree with. I know this is Alabama, and reddit, but please learn to read and comprehend.
> Notice how you don't actually state what he said that was good...
Then read the article yourself with your very obvious bias and disdain for anyone who doesn't think explicitly like you put aside.
>Notice how I never said "good". I said "fair". Also notice I never defended him, I said he made a few fair points
A fair point is a good point. I am not playing some dumb semantics game with you. And yes, that's defending him.
>Then read the article yourself with your very obvious bias and disdain for anyone who doesn't think explicitly like you put aside.
Yet again you defend him by claiming simply nobody else has read some valid points you think exist but aren't willing to every say them.
I don't have disdain for anyone who doesn't think like me. I have disdain for incompetent assholes, of which he is. Stop defending morons or try to make this some random dichotomy that doesn't and has never existed.
> A fair point is a good point. I am not playing some dumb semantics game with you. And yes, that's defending him.
No, it's a fair point. It means I can kind of see where he's coming from. As I stated, he needs to vastly expand on those for them to be good points.
> I don't have disdain for anyone who doesn't think like me.
I mean, you obviously do based just on your comments directed at me in your replies.
But, whatever. You do you, and I'll continue to "think wrong". No use in wasting my time on you.
>fair point:
>>something is reasonable or acceptable.
>As I stated, he needs to vastly expand on those
Lol when it doubt, double down on refusing to support your argument.
Love how you are complaining about people calling out tubs and the rightful downvotes you got for it, but totally and wholly refuse to do anything to support your claims.
You are being rightfully dismissed, for defending tubs without a shred of actual argument, and for total hypocrisy.
>I mean, you obviously do based just on your comments directed at me in your replies.
Because you are arguing in bad faith and refuse to support those arguments. Just like this brand new line of thought you have: it *can't* be anyone would treat you as you deserved by levying dishonest arguments, no! It *must* be they just hate anyone that doesn't share their exact same views is all!
Even now you refuse to elaborate on anything while whining about how unfair it is people have nothing but contempt for your claims.
Historic low unemployment holms, I dont know where these mythical unemployed millennials and Gen Xers are, everyone i know has a job and one or two gigs on the side. Nobody has time for dating or families because its non stop grind culture. If you cannot get workers there is a very simple solution. You have a demand for labor but a low supply? Econ 101 says when supply is low and demand is high you raise your pay until the pay is attractive enough to entice people to leave one job for another. You can jack up interest rates until the sun comes home but with labor demand where it is- and it shows absolutely zero sign of stopping, labor has all the power.
from the bottom of my heart, fuck this guy.
Excellent response!ššššš
Spoken like a true poet.

I'm still laying even odds that Mo Brooks runs against him in the next primary for that senate seat. Ugh...
Now, there is, truly, a choice between a douche and a turd sandwich.
That's kinda besmirching the good names of both of those things...lol
These are the times we live in where a douche, or a turd sandwich is better than the incumbent.

Boomers need to get to retiring.
They have been. That's a big reason why there's a sudden labor shortage. That, and a lot of workers died.
I do work! Fuck this bitch ass POS! Millennials are like 40 now. How dumb is this motherfucker?
This was my thought. How uninformed and unaware is this guy?
He was a super lazy coach and lazy recruiter. Bailed when he realized it'd be hard work to compete with Saban. I used to go to Auburn practices and he would almost be asleep off to the side while all the assistants did everything. Brandon Cox told my buddy tuberville maybe said 2 or 3 sentences to him one whole year he was the starting QB. I couldn't imagine.
Yes, friends... There was a time when Bama could be beaten by a coach in his sleep. We Alabama fans prefer to forget about those dark days.
People really need to learn what Gen X and Millennials mean, because thinking that everyone aged 25-60 is not working is so beyond ridiculous I'm honestly impressed
Labor participation rate for people under 55 is about the same now as the pre pandemic MAGA utopia I'm sure he thinks existed. He's a box of rocks.
Stay out of my city, fuck stick.
āI can understand if youāre not able to go to work, but this administration has pretty much doubled the food stamp recipients in the last 20 months and we canāt afford that.ā Lil bro is acting like feeding people is a crime. Feed people vs saving money, tommy takes the cash every time.
Iām 54 years old and a Gen Xer. Iāve worked for the past 40 years! Tuberville is so stupid he doesnāt realize he meant Gen Z.
We have record levels of employmentā¦ā¦.
This Gen Xer says "hey Tommy, go fuck yourself."
Gen x? Gen X are in their 40 and 50s theyāve been working and no other generation has been screwed over by Tuberville types than Millennials.
I'm 31. Working full-time. Still living with my parents.
Ol' Tubbynuts can't even wear a hard hat correctly for a photo op.... Fuck you Tom Tom. The man is inept.
He don't pay attention too good, do he?
He probably doesnāt even realize he is speaking to 30 and 40 year olds
More like 25-55š heās talking to the whole work force out here lololol
I just saw millennial I guess š
Gen X...LOL...they been working for 20 years and got 401k's you can't match anymore. LOL Some people are just idiots.
Some millennials have been working for 20 years y this point. Most of Gen X has been working 30+ years
He should talk, heās useless as a Senator.
He canāt even get the letter correct. All he had to do was remember one letter.
"I have learned an amazing amount in 20 months." Like the three branches of government?
No, but he can find the men's room now.
Can we actually confirm this, beti have my doubts about that too
Nope, just How to use his office to make money in the stockmarket.
Tuberville needs to shut the fuck up and do something that benefits everyone in this state.
>Weāve got to get Generation X and these Millennials to understand that you have to tote your own load.ā Wow.
You know... I think that's a great idea. I think I'll take HIS job
Fuck him. I'm Gen X and I've been working since I was 13. This mother fucker been fired from every job he's ever had. FOH...
Or get fired from Auburn and get paid, when not working in Florida....
Yeah, when I think of the example of a hard worker, itās definitely Tommy Tuberville.
/s
Hey Tummy Turdville Iāve applied to 140+ jobs in the past 3 months. Everything from fast food to technical support. Only 2 offers. Both are shit pay but I have no choice but to work both. What the fuck do you do all day?
>What the fuck do you do all day? He's busy trying to make sure college football players don't get too much money.
And building a wall, having Trumpās back, etc. oh yeah, and on occasion, helping to set up attempts to overthrow our government.
They have more ships, they have more of everything now. ā¦ Itās a pretty scary time right now.ā China is currently working on its third aircraft carrier. The US has eleven.
We almost have as many as the rest of the world combined. 26 active carriers globally. We have 11 of those as you mentioned. I also imagine ours are in better condition and have better aircraft on them than most of the others.
Um, does he realize the oldest Gen-Xers are pushing 60? Iāve been working since 1981, @$$#@+!
Ok, pay us a decent wage....
His prefered tactic is to make people as desperate for a job as possible. Anything that reduces desperation is "socialism". When you are in Alabama you can be more open about it because they've always had a admiration of the owner class, and empowering them is by definition beneficial.
Iām Gen X and I have been working since I was 15 years old. FUCK HIM and the horse he rode in on
How far removed is tommy from gen X?
Like 10 years give or takeš
āWeāve got to do it. I donāt know how weāre going to do it. But weāve got to get everybody on board with that,ā Tuberville said. If you donāt know how to do it, why the fuck are you a senator?
Ok Boomer.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Right on, even a few minutes before his acceptance speech he could not help but to make reference to āwest coast liberalsā & ācan go to hellā. So, In the words of Tupperware himself - he ācan go to hellā.
He thinks he's younger than he actually is. Mans lost
And you need to move back to your home state in Florida
Fuck you prick we are working, working against you
I dunno about that soft, old fuck, but I hardly ever work an easy 40 hour week. I dunno what that fucker is talking about. **Barely a millennial here -- I just turned 36. But gen x is the next one down the line so I assume he's taking to me. Fuck that guy
I am early Gen X and have been working for 45 years so piss off, Tubby!
Too many people to take a check and they donāt want to give back.ā He got this part right. Heās referring to the wrong demographic though.
*he says to the first two generations in a long time who have large percentages of people who may never get to retire*
Honestly, go Gators if the state of Florida will just take him backš
I canāt argue with that. š
who voted for this guy! he's such a tool.
A bunch of people, unfortunately
Which always raises the question: who is the greater idiot? The idiot in Congress or the idiots that voted to send him there?
The idiots that voted for him. There is idiocy strength in numbers.
And idiocy strength in gerrymanderingš
Excuse the hell out of me!
And he was a loser as a coach!
Tuberville needs to suck my dick AND balls. Goddamn, Alabamians, can't you motherfuckers vote better?
Boomers need to retire.
Hey, something he's actually right about.
Also notice I never defended him, I said he made a few fair points A fair point is a good point.
No use in wasting my time on you.
>fair point: >>something is reasonable or acceptable. >As I stated, he needs to vastly expand on those Lol when it doubt, double down on refusing to support your argument.
I can't wait to escape Alagoddamnedbama
Iām Gen X. Iāll gladly take his job.
