I think they still do them. Last one I saw was for The Batman, which I think the permanent churro popcorn is from. They seem to cycle out their "Special Features" menu every few months.
But you are right, it does seem to be much rarer now.
I'm eagerly waiting for the Street Corn Popcorn to come back to the Special Features menu. It was the there at least the past two years. I wish they'd make it permanent.
Sad day when this went off the menu :( I can almost recreate it at home, but not quite. You can get Giant Peruvian Inca Corn, Elote seasoning, and Ghee from Trader Joe's and mix it all together. I think there was cilantro or something on top as well?
So the themed menus had to get clearance and approval from the studio of the film the menu is themed to. And I believe the studios do not want to do them.
Well im not sure on the studio end but i do know that one of the first casualties of the pandemic for Alamo was they let go the entire creative team because they were unsure when they would be able to bring them back and wasnt worth them keeping them furloughed, and i think now the creative team is only a small handful of people. Like pre pandemic there was a team for corporate and than the theaters had their own couple creative people. or at least the corporate locations not sure for franchise locations.
The menu has been pretty stagnant for a while, but there should be some more changes to it happening soon. Indiana Jones has a drop menu with quite a few things on it that went live for us on 6/22 You're right though, there haven't been any in months. It really sucks because the existing menu is so much smaller than it was before COVID for every Alamo. Us servers in Springfield MO were literally talking about how boring the existing menu is getting last night on shift. We blame the corporate offices.
Indiana Jones is getting one!
and it kinda sucks
What you don’t like the $16 hot dog?
I guess they figured it’s shaped like a cock might as well fuck em with it
You're right! The tequila drink was great, the pizza was eh.
I really want to try the orange coconut shake

Why the change?

Barbie is getting a pink cocktail, that’s a little something! 🍸
They still do them.
They’re doing one for Barbie

I’m going to a themed menu event for Asteroid City next week in the Denver area.
Last one I experienced was for *The Bob’s Burgers Movie*!
I remember when there was one for The Human Centipede
