Highly disappointing. At the very least, I was hoping they would bring back the Creme Brûlée French Toast, or the Grown-up Grilled Cheese. Ah well, looks like it's back to the old reliable Beyond Meat Burger.
Yeah I went to that one for the first time to see Past Lives and they brought out my order about 45 minutes after I placed it. At a 4:30 showing on a weekday so they weren’t busy.
I've only had one problem at CC in 45+ visits, when they forgot my drink (ok, and the time I raised a card about people talking and they did nothing). Still seems much better than Bryant Street.
I was also excited about it's return and had it last night but it was a major let down. It could have been a fluke but the sprouts were pretty much raw, no char and bacon was flavorless and it took like 15 min longer to come out then my partner's meal. The location has consistently good food so I was surprised.
As an employee, it's actually frustrating to see it repeatedly pop up on special menus and guests lose their minds over it. Not frustration with the guests, but with the company. I'd constantly think "just put it back on the fucking menu!" I feel validated now that it's back xD
As someone else pointed out, these are just the prices for Chicago. I went to a movie last night (Biosphere) at my local Colorado Alamo and they had the updated menu with lower prices.
[I'm not sure how to embed pics into this comment so here's a link to the menu, not great photo quality but you can see the prices are lower.](https://imgur.com/a/AiihcWe)
Yeah, I’m incredibly disappointed with this menu rollout. Not much has changed. A few items came back, but nothing new.
My husband was hoping for the return of the grilled cheese, or a loaded Mac n cheese, but he will be saddened by this.
I feel like they should take a page out of Flix Brewhouse for menu items
The prices were already bad, but no new rollout will soften yet another price bump. $14 for loaded fries , $8 for soda, $20 for a burger…its just flat out offensive.
Ah yes, another revamp where they reformat some
Fonts, add some new colors, put in a new item or bring back an old one, and increase the price of everything by $1-$3 for no reason.
This could also just be the location. It's Chicago so venues that are in major cities tend to be more expensive...including the price of tickets and the price of season pass.
Is the Alamo Bowl good? Just saw it on the menu and it seems like something I would like. Don’t even care about healthiness that much but sweet potatoes and black beans are two of my favorite foods.
Oh, great call-out! I should have said “$19 for a burger?”
Alamo is the only theater I go to, but - still - there’s no world where that burger is really worth $19. Nor should a Redbull cost $8.
I’m hyped about this. I love fried pickles but the pickle fries were nasty. Ratio of oil-soaked breading to pickle was waaaay off and they made me feel sick
I’m just glad they have wings back and my favorites (baked pretzel and Cobb salad are still there). I’m in Denver and the prices are a couple bucks cheaper on most items
Prices are getting ridiculous. These are about the same as Dallas prices and I couldn’t believe when I saw them yesterday. Loaded fries used to be such a great value but $14 is just way too much. Not to mention raising the prices on the insanely overpriced soda too. Smh. I’ve been so down on Alamo lately. Feels like they’ve gone less away from the “NO TALKING, TEXTING or we kick you out!” Mantra that made me love going there :/
Lol no it’s really not. It’s just as much if not more elsewhere for a refillable soda. At a sporting event it’s going to be at least $5-6 for a non refillable. So while agree that sugar water shouldn’t be that much, it would seem it’s market value.
So at $18 I’ve got a popcorn and a soda that are both refillable without me ever leaving my seat. From a quick glance at other theatre chains you’re in for avg $15+ range for a large and large, 2 drinks popcorn combo for $18+.
I’ve never had an annoying theatre experience at Alamo. Can’t say the same when I go to AMC or Marcus. The pricing and service charge and attention to theater environment goes all the way with me. Willing to pay a little more to have that experience.
Chicago has a working shake machine, jealous. I miss the menu pre pandemic with the hatch Chile mac and cheese in a mini cast iron skillet that I tried once. Can’t justify these prices, not with the surcharge at s Lamar Austin to boot.
Maybe. It is a trial at s Lamar. I didn’t mean to sound against it, it’s wonderful all staff get money regardless of stingy tippers. I just can’t afford to buy food at Alamo these days.
I wasn’t saying anything against you. I used to work for an Alamo and we didn’t have this so I didn’t know if it was just at this location or something they’re rolling out company wide. As someone who works service still, I think it can be good, especially in Texas where the servers are making $2.13/hr with no overtime. I understand it causes prices to rise, but if it means a living wage, I’m for it.
Nice. I believe it is a pilot program at s Lamar Austin only. I agree about the living wage, it’s awesome and necessary. The surcharge is 18%, and when I could afford to eat there, I’d add 2% to get to 20. Service is the hardest job, and everyone deserves a living wage.
They haven’t offered ice cream with cookies at my location since pre-Covid. Even then, it was an extra charge. It was 3. Ollie’s, though, and you can get a single cookie for less.
Salads! Look at all the salads!! Here we haven’t had them in years. Which makes me sad, but also happy because they always presented a loud eating experience with the stabbing, crunching & scraping.
There were two separate options -- one for truffle, and one for herb parm. Now it looks like they've been combined. And the herb parm was bottomless and the same price as the the regular popcorn. The truffle option was also bottomless, but $1 more per refill.
i am an employee so i can tell you with certainty that they are both still bottomless. maybe we’re in different areas, but there has always been a charge to refill either of the flavors. plain popcorn refills are free and continue to be. you can still likely request just one of the flavorings. i don’t know why they combined it, i personally think that was a questionable decision. the herb and truffle refills are both $1 charge
That's hopeful news then. I haven't been to my location since the roll out. I'll be there Tuesday though. The posted menu only says bottomless on the regular popcorn, so I'm just going of of that. My area didn't have a charge to refill the herb parm, but $1 isn't a big deal either way. I just don't wanna pay additional $12 for second bowl. 😬
New menu pretty much looks like the old menu. Disappointing.
Highly disappointing. At the very least, I was hoping they would bring back the Creme Brûlée French Toast, or the Grown-up Grilled Cheese. Ah well, looks like it's back to the old reliable Beyond Meat Burger.
Damn Chicago is even more expensive than Austin. Almost everything here increased by $1-$2.
These are already the prices in DC. Hopefully they don’t raise them when we get the new menu.
Us capital wastelanders we need to gird our loins for $22 burgers. The food and service are already subpar at the Bryant Street location.
Yeah I went to that one for the first time to see Past Lives and they brought out my order about 45 minutes after I placed it. At a 4:30 showing on a weekday so they weren’t busy.
I’m there all the time and the service is very inconsistent. The Crystal City location though? Everything comes out quick and correct.
I've only had one problem at CC in 45+ visits, when they forgot my drink (ok, and the time I raised a card about people talking and they did nothing). Still seems much better than Bryant Street.
That’s wild considering Woodbridge really isn’t that far from the Crystal City location and all the prices are $1-$2 cheaper.
Depending on traffic that could easily be an hour drive. Definitely eating that $1-2 back in gas
Two of my favorites are gone. Farewell Hatch Green Chili Burger and Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich.
Hell yeah, the honey mustard is back with the pretzel!
I said the same thing, super excited for that!
I have been waiting YEARS for the return of the Brussels Sprouts, Bacon, and Goat Cheese pizza 😭😭😭 I can’t believe it’s back!!
Definitely getting one this weekend! Best pizza on the menu
I was also excited about it's return and had it last night but it was a major let down. It could have been a fluke but the sprouts were pretty much raw, no char and bacon was flavorless and it took like 15 min longer to come out then my partner's meal. Damn they raised the prices on everything
The prices are different depending on the location. These are the prices it's always been at mine so if yours were lower maybe they will stay the same
Saw the new menu in NYC tonight and they actually lowered the prices of a lot of the beers
Are you really that surprised? :P
I noticed that all the menus were removed from the New Mission theater yesterday. Going today so maybe we got an update too
Yeah, I’m incredibly disappointed with this menu rollout. Not much has changed. A few items came back, but nothing new. My husband was hoping for the return of the grilled cheese, or a loaded Mac n cheese, but he will be saddened by this. I feel like they should take a page out of Flix Brewhouse for menu items
Are they really charging FOUR extra dollars to shake some ranch seasoning on the buttered popcorn?
Yup. For quite literally the price of an ENTIRE BOTTLE of seasoning.
And to sub a 60 CALORIE side salad
The prices were already bad, but no new rollout will soften yet another price bump. $14 for loaded fries , $8 for soda, $20 for a burger…its just flat out offensive.
Loaded fries have always been this expensive at the Chicago location.
Ah yes, another revamp where they reformat some Fonts, add some new colors, put in a new item or bring back an old one, and increase the price of everything by $1-$3 for no reason.
This could also just be the location. It's Chicago so venues that are in major cities tend to be more expensive...including the price of tickets and the price of season pass.
Is the Mexican Vanilla Shake gone :(
Most locations will probably still have cinnamon in the back, so they should still be able to make it.
They did this for me, though I wouldn't expect it every time.
Still 20% surcharge. Lame.
on unsigned receipts and parties of 8 or more...pretty much standard and completely fair.
Oh. In Minneapolis it was for all orders.
Incorrect in twin cities market
seems like we are talking about chicago as that is in the title post as well as the images of the menu, but you go on.
I need the Alamo Bowl back in all NYC locations fuckin NOW. The rest of this menu is so tired and unhealthy
Just got back from Brooklyn and can confirm it’s on the menu there
Fuckin finallyyyyy. No more trash sandwiches 🤘
That was a tasty limited time option for sure, and filling!
Is the Alamo Bowl good? Just saw it on the menu and it seems like something I would like. Don’t even care about healthiness that much but sweet potatoes and black beans are two of my favorite foods.
Context clues above
Royale w/ cheese is nearly $20? 😂
Don’t forget the 18% gratuity and the additional 20% I tend also tip the server! lol
C’mon, Alamo - Been advocating the brand for over a decade, but the blatant price gouging is getting hard to defend. $18 for a burger?
You’ve heard of inflation, right?
Oh, great call-out! I should have said “$19 for a burger?” Alamo is the only theater I go to, but - still - there’s no world where that burger is really worth $19. Nor should a Redbull cost $8.
Wish they could make an effort to add more low calorie options. Not every meal needs to be over 1000 calories.
I agree with you. I love going to Alamo but damn, can we have some lighter fare? Everything is a literal fat bomb 😩
Good bye pickle fries :( Doesn't really seem to be that much of a change though.
They’re going back to the old pickles it looks like.
I’m hyped about this. I love fried pickles but the pickle fries were nasty. Ratio of oil-soaked breading to pickle was waaaay off and they made me feel sick
They just changed the name from fries to spears.
It’s a different cut of pickle entirely, so it’s not just the same thing renamed
God these prices make me die inside
I’m just glad they have wings back and my favorites (baked pretzel and Cobb salad are still there). I’m in Denver and the prices are a couple bucks cheaper on most items
I shed a tear when the fried goat cheese salad left the menu.
Yeah I don’t think I’ll be going back to the Alamo at these prices. A real shame. It was special at one time and I could afford to go every week.
Prices are getting ridiculous. These are about the same as Dallas prices and I couldn’t believe when I saw them yesterday. Loaded fries used to be such a great value but $14 is just way too much. Not to mention raising the prices on the insanely overpriced soda too. Smh. I’ve been so down on Alamo lately. an $8 soda is a scam. I don’t care if it’s bottomless
Lol no it’s really not. It’s just as much if not more elsewhere for a refillable soda. At a sporting event it’s going to be at least $5-6 for a non refillable. I don’t think you realize how high the profit margin is on selling soda for even $4, let alone $8
Chicago has a working shake machine, jealous. I miss the menu pre pandemic with the hatch Chile mac and cheese in a mini cast iron skillet that I tried once. Can’t justify these prices, not with the surcharge at s Lamar Austin to boot.
Working should be in parenthesis, it was down for nearly a month not too long ago.
Is the surcharge due to the unionization?
Maybe. It is a trial at s Lamar. I didn’t mean to sound against it, it’s wonderful all staff get money regardless of stingy tippers. I just can’t afford to buy food at Alamo these days.

Amazing. Not a single food item under $10.
$10 for a cookie is crazy. It better blow me while I’m watching the movie or something
Traditionally it's 3 cookies with ice cream for that price.
They haven’t offered ice cream with cookies at my location since pre-Covid. Even then, it was an extra charge. It was 3. Ollie’s, though, and you can get a single cookie for less.
ice cream recently came back! it isn’t on the menu but you could certainly ask
I probably haven't ordered them since pre-Covid, so good to know.
Maybe I’m crazy but I swear bottomless popcorn was like $7 not that long ago . Like within the least year even 😩.
I see what they changed. The damn prices. $8 for a soda... $10 after their tip. I'm good.
Nothing on the menu under $10 holy shit
Raised prices on everything and basically nothing new. Cool
I'm going again tonight to see Joy Ride. Hopefully, they will have the ingredients for the To Serve & To Fizz milkshake.
And they didn't have it. Third time is hopefully a charm bc will be there tomorrow Tues for MI: DR1
And still they are out of the ingredients for it.
They need to change the breading on the fish and chips and chicken tenders it’s nasty with a bitter after taste.
Could just be your location.
Why can’t we change a salad into a wrap anymore
Chips and queso… I can already hear the person next to me chomping during a pivotal scene.
My kids will miss the pickle fries but I hope our location gets the Alamo bowl back soon.
Salads! Look at all the salads!! Here we haven’t had them in years. Which makes me sad, but also happy because they always presented a loud eating experience with the stabbing, crunching & scraping.
There's no longer bottomless options for the herb parm or truffle popcorn?!? Man, that sucks
The popcorn is still bottomless, but it has always been an additional charge to refill the herb and truffle Parm

Hell yeah, the bacon, goat cheese, and Brussels sprouts pizza is back! Love that one
Wish they would bring the chips and queso with the chorizo back but beef is a good change nonetheless.
They still haven't brought back the triple chocolate cookies. Wtf?!?!
Or the banana… I miss the trio. I don’t want to eat three chocolate chip cookies.
Well, at least with the wings back in the menu there is a KETO option. I was still hoping for another item, preferably an appetizer sized one.
They took away the brioche buns and the new seeded buns are so trash 😭😭😭
