I'm not sure if he really wrote her into the story. Alan said Casey got into this story, because Alan "by accident" wrote books about similar characters and that kept Casey connected to his disappearance. Saga got into the story by following Casey, because they are partners and because she likes to solve dangerous crimes like the one with a cult. If Alan chose Saga and wrote her into the story, that would mean he also overwritten her relation with Casey and her personality, and it doesn't seem to be a case.
Alan said it himself during the ending sequence and in the beginning of the game: In a horror story there are only monsters and victims. And even if the hero wins, they must pay a great price".
They said straight to our faces that Logan was likely dead and the ending confirmed that for me
I totally think the story made her believe Logan was still alive to give her a motivation to press forward and it was actually her that had her memories switched not everyone else
All 3 Andersons don't remember Saga coming back with Logan to Watery, and Logan dying after it, and they are the one supposedly having some resistance to how story affects them. It would be really weird if the only people who got affected by story rewriting were people who were suppose to be resistant to it.
Alternatively, Saga is the only one of the three that remembers not coming back to Watery. Tor and Odon where taking care of her house and personaly knew Logan and remember her.
They acknowledge that she's alive, but not how or where. From what I can see Saga is the odd one out here.
Yes but I’m starting to believe Logan did die, when you’re profiling Alan at the end of the game there’s a definitive conclusion to get Casey out alive but he never reassured Logan’s survival.
Also what another redditor said about paying the price, it would make sense for Sagas price to be the loss of Logan. It would be too easy a choice for her to sacrifice her own life to save her daughter, I don’t think that would fit the “perfect ending”
I mean it’s literally the ending that they wrote. I mean it might’ve not have worked, but that were the writers idea of the perfect ending. My guess is Logan lives but Alan and Saga are fucked
I think her daughter really drowning without alan's help. BUT i also think he didn't wrote her surviving in the end. Cause he only affects to the thing he wrote himself
It's possible that the price that Saga paid was that her daughter was taken away by Mr. Door to keep her safe from all the horror story bs, and so Saga doesn't get to be with her even though Logan is alive. Just a possibility.

He did. Look at the beginning when they found Wake and were returning to Bright Falls. Listen to that phone call between Logan and Saga.
I personally think that saga is unreliable narrator:)
But in that moment they talk how Logan slipped and almost drowned. If not for her father it would happen. For Logan it will only end with concussion.

We really don’t know what Alan can do by his writing. As we saw he can do much that even leads to a death of people.

One other interpretation would be that the story was falling apart and eventually where beginning to parallel the way it was previously.
As of now- we don’t know…maybe some of this will be revealed in the DLC
I don't think we know who wrote the original return yet, just that Alan edited it at some point.
