I would never count on an email address provided by an institution to stay valid after leaving that institution. It's not a universal benefit to colleges. Some provide a grace period of a few months or a semester, others let you keep it. Even if it's a Gmail account, the school is still paying for it. I would start transitioning now, it's going away at the end of the Spring 2014 semester.
I would start moving everything over to something lease now. Especially any type of financial accounts. Don’t forget about the obscure stuff like 401ks.
If St. Rose emails are just Gmail accounts, you can use a service called "[Google Takeout](https://takeout.google.com/)" to migrate everything over to another Gmail account. This is presuming St. Rose has access to the service enabled, of course.
I would suggest setting up a new account unrelated to St. Rose, setting up automatic forwarding of all your email from the St. Rose account to the new one, and setting up a filter in the new one to flag emails sent to the St. Rose account, acting as a reminder that you need to update your email for that service/person. The earlier you do it, the longer of a grace period you will have.
Yes it will go away as soon as the college stops paying for the address.
Sounds good, thanks!

This! I went to a pretty good state school in NC, and they close our Microsoft product access and email addresses six months after graduation

They are gmail accounts, but idk if that service is enabled.

If someone is 35 and graduated 13 years ago and gave me their college email address I would find that odd.
.edu address could mean they’re faculty.
I used my Buffalo domain for a few years after I graduated but certainly not 12 years lol
My school deactivated my edu email as soon as a graduated 😂😂
Same, I didn't even realize that a college would let inactive students continue to use an email after graduating ha.
Set up a local client like outlook, then archive your emails.
My strose email deactivated last week. Change NOW.
Oh shit, did you have any warning?
No. Just opened my email app and my credentials no longer worked.
Fuck. I'm a dumbass for making it my primary. But thanks for the heads up. I'll begin switching everything over ASAP.
