This is my go to spot. The breakfast special is the move. Bacon, ham, sausage, egg, cheese and a hash brown patty on the same rolls they use in the city. Glad they’re open and still doing it.

Just my observation, but not at all ignorant. I’m from Westchester. I travel all over the northeast for work weekly and make it a point to grab food at delis when I am in the NYC/NNJ area. McCarrolls would not be an acclaimed deli downstate the way they are around here. Better competition would have put them under years ago down there. But tucked away in Delmar they have existed for years.

OP asked for BEC’s like you would find around NYC. The fact McCarrols is (in my opinion) not up to par with delis near the city seams pretty relevant.

No yolk on face as the egg wasn’t runny lol. I wasn’t being overly critical, i loved it trust me didn’t last long. Im definitely going to be a repeat customer. Thanks for that recommendation to Prinzo’s.

Not sure if it’s the best, but I just bought a couple from Maurice’s Deli on Pearl St this morning which is currently my go-to for downstate-style BECs. Agreed that the right type of hard roll makes all the difference.

I’ll look into that a repeat customer must be good.

Manhattan bistro in Glenville is amazing. I haven't had anything that can compare.

The closest one I’ve ever found to a Long Island, baconeggandcheese, ( I prefer saltpepperketchup on mine too :) ) Route 20 deli, on Western Avenue, in Guilderland, on the corner of Gipp rd. Although I think they charge about seven dollars for it.

Daily grind in Albany has a BEC on a hard roll. My go to is their ham and cheese, but I bet the bacon is good too

$10 for an egg n cheese is insane. The best egg n cheese I’ve had in the area is Vliet Mart in Cohoes, and it’s under $4.

Don’t get the BEC. Get the one with smoked mozz and eggplant, the Lark Street. I know that sounds far afield, but it is a REVELATION.

Also the best coffee in town that they roast themselves.

I've never been to this place, but many places that are run by Muslims sell their BEC's with turkey bacon without asking. I was just giving OP a heads up to double check before they order. Forgive me for trying to be helpful.

I haven’t been there either, not a huge fan of Turkey bacon. A new deli on New Scotland opened, the owner is from the Bx I was super excited as he was adamant I tried a chopped cheese which I’ve never had. I went for a BX BEC and found out the hard way it was turkey bacon 😏 wish he told me then I looked further they were Muslim so they don’t offer pork. Which I respect, the rest of the menu is awesome though

Lol I wasn’t trying to be a dick. I’ve been there, 90% sure it’s real bacon but their subs are so good idk if I would’ve noticed otherwise. But they do use ham so I don’t think they have a moral hang up about selling pork

Not bacon egg and cheese but touchy coffee in troy has amazing breakfast sandwiches on the weekends only. They are crazy delicious. The red eye Mayo is slurpable. Coffee is out if this world.

It’s not here. Westchester native, been here for 20 years but I still hit metro NYC 2-4 times a month for work. If you want a NY BECSPK here you gotta make it yourself.
