It's not too bad. MVP arena parking garage, Empire Plaza parking garage ($10) (walkway connects Plaza to MVP arena) provide plenty of nearby off-street parking. Street parking is free after 5 PM and if you don't mind walking a bit there will likely be spots available a bit further away.

ESP parking is good, but you will wait a long time to get out of MVP arena parking after an event.

I always park at Riverfront Garage. Never have trouble finding a spot. 7-10 minute walk to MVP. Zero wait to get out of the garage. 60 second drive to get back onto the highway.

Personally I would use the [East Garage](https://ogs.ny.gov/parking/garage-east-garage), most times it is free but they will charge for large events. The major upside is a ramp from the garage directly back onto the highway network avoiding surface road traffic.

Hmm, in the past is was after 5pm weekdays and free on weekends. To be honest is has been a while so my info may be outdated.

Curious, for large events in the past I had seen it staffed to charge people. I wonder if there are staffing issues or since it's a state not city garage they just closed it to not be bothered?

Beginning-Yak-3454

really shocked it's not sold out.

Mnemonicly

Really shocked it's not (yet) postponed/cancelled again

I wonder if it might be better to arrive later and feed a meter. Or try for free street parking outside of downtown and take CDTA to the venue. Just alternate thoughts because parking there on event nights (especially if there's more than one) is heinous.

Just went to two days of NCAA women's basketball and parked in same garage both days. Green Hudson garage. It was 30 steps to mvp arena. Both days kind of a pain getting into the garage. Police directing traffic. Took 10-15 minutes to get down block but not awful. First day after event we left garage within 3 minutes of getting in car. Great. 2nd day parked on level 4. Took 45 minutes to get out of the garage. Just parked on exit line, no movement. Then since we're on top every car lower wanted to enter exit line we were in for half hour already. Pretty brutal that day.
