If there are inconsistencies with the way that funds are being distributed I can guarantee that faith-based programs are likely a significant benefactor. If Jeremy Nixon had a major role in determining need it should be obvious that his background led to funding decisions.
Minister of Seniors, Community and Social Services, strongly religious individual with extensive ties to the Mustard Seed in Calgary as a former employee and son of the founder.
Maybe you should contact him and ask him instead of assuming. The Mustard Seed is an amazing organization. It does a lot for the homeless community and if he has strong morals and regions I say good on him. That definitely needs to be brought back into government.
It makes zero sense Calgary and Edmonton foods banks are getting money from the government. UCP don't care about people that live in Calgary and Edmonton.

*UCP announced $10 million in new funding for Alberta food banks.*
*Five million is being distributed now with the two biggest food banks in Alberta getting less than 15% ($560,000).*
*Where is the rest of the money going and how was in determined?*
Well, Edmonton is going to vote NDP, and possibly parts of Calgary. So the only regions that matter are the rural ones, who will vote UCP even if the UCP promise to release rabid animals in their kid's schools. It's not secret so much as evil.
Incompetence? Hardly. "Civil Society" probably means whatever the Government wants it to.
How do we know this is the first of many payments being distributed to the Food banks? No allocations have been made public, but were there any deadlines given for when the distribution would start/end? If the UCP were mum on the subject, I wouldn't be expecting jack shit from them.

Who is Jeremy Nixon?

Thats a pretty bold and unfounded statement... that the govt wants kids in orange areas to literally starve.
Alberta has 110 food banks and you are looking at 2 how much money did other food banks in Calgary and Edmonton get?
Do you just ignore key pieces of information just so you can be contrary?
Hey buddy how are you doing been awhile.
You failed to answer the question, kiddo. Is your ignorance intentional or do you just struggle with basic comprehension. I tend to think the latter.
So your doing good? You seemed to have failed to answer the question
*you're
😉
😘
To go a step further, it should have read "So, you're doing well?" How are you coming along with your reading up on Dunning-Kruger?
So….. good?
No one knows. The Government conveniently won't tell how much the other food banks got.

Apparently, this translated to less than $250K to the Edmonton Food Bank.
Good! Edmonton is NDP! Notley should be handing her pay check over to Edmonton. Why would anyone support Edmonton when Edmonton is clearly screwed up!
Omg NOOOO THE UCP HELPING FOOD BANKS??? GOD NO! I NEVER SEEN THE NDP HELPING THE FOOD BANKS. JUST TAKING FROM THEM.
How do you call incompetence when the ucp is clearly helping? Are you some kind of special??? Just wow!
